"I recommend staying down, punk."
Roxy said, cracking her knuckles as she looked down at the man on the ground. He groaned and held his already darkening cheek. Roxy was out patrolling as Robin when she came across him trying to mug an old lady walking home from the store. She chased him off and then proceeded to smack him around for awhile. She placed her foot on the back of his head and grinned. She liked having this kind of power over people. She had spent so much time on the receiving end of it that the feeling was still a thrill for her.
'Chill out Robin. This isn't the kind of time to taunt, bad things happen.'
"Relax Q, I'll be fi..."
'You'll be what?'
Her comment was cut short by a baseball bat to the back. She crashed to the ground with a groan before looking up at two men, each armed with bats, standing over her. This was the type of sight she was more used to seeing, she didn't like it. The two went to town swinging bats at her over and over. Her body armor and the cape did help protect her somewhat, but she needed to act. One foot shot out, catching one in the kneecap. His leg buckled and down he went, clutching his leg. Using that distraction she popped up and threw her cape up as a distraction. He stumbled back as drove her foot into his crotch. As he bent over clutching himself she drove her fist into his forehead and he crashed down. The man clutching his knee received a quick kick to the head, knocking him out.
"I'm good Q, minor distraction..."
'Don't worry me like that Robin.'
"Nothing to worry about. Hell, I bet my ribs aren't even broken."
The groan over the communicator was all the answer she needed. She rolled her eyes and turned around seeing three other men at the end of the alley. With a sigh she quickly drew her bow and an arrow, aiming it the three men, watching them closely. She didn't trust them and knew things could get risky if she didn't eliminate them sooner. Of course suddenly things got worse, because of course they did. The man she'd been beating on previously managed to come to and grabbed her from behind, with a knife to the throat.
'Give up sweetheart and we'll be gentle...maybe.'
He said with a gruff voice. She released the arrow, a sonic arrow that emitted a high pitched whistle as it neared the targets. She'd grown somewhat accustomed to the sound and the distraction was what she needed. The knife had started to dig in but there was enough of a delay. Her peak flexibility helped and she managed to bring her leg up and kick the man over her shoulder. The man staggered back and she spun, delivering and side kick to the throat. She turned just in time to see the three men charging her, one pulling an arrow from his shoulder. She collapsed the bow down to her typical staff and readied herself.
"Oh I'm gonna hurt someone..."
She said with a mischievous grin.
'Damn it Robin, get out of there!'
"What's the fun in that Q?"
She asked before charging straight at the three men.

"I'm fairly sure someone isn't going to like this." The voice came over the comm in his cowl. "You're wearing a brightly colored costume. It's not like they're going to miss you..."
"Yeah, I know. I didn't really plan on being active in Gotham. I was just here attending to some other business. I'm sure none of the Bats will be thrilled." James was on a rooftop in his Cap uniform watching Robin tend to some thugs. She stopped to talk to herself and he saw a baseball bat drop her. His instincts said it was time to move, but he gave it a few more moments anyway. He saw her injure one man and distract the other. James gave her credit. She was a talented fighter, but she was a bit reckless for even his taste.
When the man grabbed her from behind, he readied his shield, but then heard the piercing wail of her sonic arrow. His cowl compensated by activating a damper in the comm system that blocked it out. His parents hung out with Hawkeye. It was safe to say they knew some tricks. As Robin charged towards the three men, one of her previous victims came to his senses and started getting up gingerly. He'd been kicked in his sensibilities and now he wasn't playing anymore. James knew man's the motion well. He'd seen it in foreign countries and home many times. The super soldier sprung from the rooftop, putting a spin on his jump and hurling the familiar red, white and blue shield at the thug before he could draw the piece from his jacket.
The shield smashed into the thug and sent him tumbling back into the wall. James landed on the fire escape and flipped off of it, catching the shield on the second ricochet from the alley wall, before landing a safe distance away. Captain America stood up to his full height. "Is this a private party or can anyone crash?"

Roxy was completely unaware of what was happening behind her, as usual. She'd always been told to watch her six, something she really needed to work on. So far she'd been failing miserably, as was evidenced by the man about to shoot her in the back. However the shield was enough to distract the three men long enough for her to get a move on. She jumped off a wall and spun, kicking one in the jaw. He spun and fell into his friend. The man who'd been shot in the shoulder suddenly realized Robin was nowhere in sight. She brought her staff up under his arm. The staff hit him in the arm pit and bent, the end cracking him in the throat. He fell, clutching his throat before she twirled her staff and turned her attention to Captain America.
"Well, Captain Patriot Pants. I'd intended on a private party but something tells me you wouldn't leave anyways."
She said with an arrogant smirk. She gave her staff a twirl and turned her attention to the few men left, now standing between the two.
"Not sure your stance on letting an opponent surrender but I always felt it was a cop out."
She'd never been given a chance to surrender or beg for mercy. She knew if she hadn't fought back just now she also wouldn't be given that option. So she never saw the point in letting her opponent have that privilege. Of course as much as she hated to admit it she was the junior hero here. If he wanted to give them a chance to surrender she would. One man took the opportunity to make a run for it only to have Roxy turn her staff into a bow. She drew an arrow quickly and fired, sending an arrow into his hand, pinning him to a wall.
"Now everyone sit tight, we're discussing whether or not to let you surrender unharmed."
'Was that really necessary?'

Captain Patriot Pants? Oi... James had been here five minutes and she was getting under his skin. Worse, she was sloppy, reckless, and arrogant. No wonder she grated on him. 30 seconds in and he'd realized she fought exactly like he used to. With no regard for her own safety. He noticed she completely left her back open on multiple occasions. Cap wasn't sure who trained her, but he took pride in the fact that if nothing else Lyds would never do something that foolish.
"I'll leave if you want. Seems like you were wearing down their bats with your body. Eventually you would have gotten them." He eyed the men between them both. "Sorry. I need these men alive and conscious. They have information that I need for an investigation. They have connections to an AIM cell here in Gotham."
As the first man bolted and Roxy pinned him to the wall, Cap glared at another man standing there. "If you're feelin' froggy, go ahead and jump. Otherwise, stay put." The second, larger thug there balled up his fist and hit Cap full on the jaw. James shook his head and looked at the thug. His face went white. "Is that it? My kid sister hits harder than you." Captain America swung his shield up by one strap and punched the back of it. The concave disk smashed into the second thug's face and he went down on his knees, groaning. The second thug pulled out a .38 special and fired off a shot.
The bullet impacted with the fabric of James' armor. The web distributed the impact, but it still hurt like hell. He'd definitely have a welt later. 'Sloppy, Barnes. Too much time bantering,' He thought to himself. He had to get that gun away from the thug before he aimed it at Robin. Her head was pretty unprotected. His mind raced as he examined the possiblities. He could draw his gun and shoot the thug, but there was a chance of friendly fire. He went with option two. As he saw the hammer fall in slow motion, he angled his shield so the bullet ricocheted upwards and away. Then, he dropped down and pulled a knife out of his boot and threw it, hitting the man in the shoulder and causing him to drop the gun with a clatter. He held his shield tight and looked around to make sure Robin hadn't been injured.
"I would have preferred a peaceful surrender, personally."

As he made a comment about wearing down their bats with her body she made a 'pssh' noise and waved her hand dismissively. Yes she was getting beaten, but she survived and got out of it. She wasn't just some punk who went out in a bandanna and leather jacket picking fights. Yes she didn't have the best training, but she did have some. She knew she wasn't the best combatant and Huntress and her friends seemed to thoroughly enjoy proving that. But she was a quick study. Primarily because she had to. She'd been powerless far too often and she didn't like reliving that.
"It's a new technique I was working on. Before you intervened I was about to use my face vs their fist style to break their hands. Only the best can do it."
She said with a laugh.
'Yes piss off Captain America. What can possibly go wrong?'
She decided not to point out that he'd taught her to question authority and walk her own path. But she also didn't have time to appear to talk to herself. Of course she had no real issue talking to herself when she was going over a case but this was a different matter entirely. She watched as he seemed to single handedly take out the rest of the guy.
"Peaceful is boring. Why would anyone want to go the peaceful route?"
She asked with a smirk as she dropped her cape. She'd raised it to potentially block any stray bullets. Her cape was by no means bullet proof but it had some resistance to bullets and coupled with her kevlar suit should be enough to save her.
"Although I find it hard to believe that these morons are involved with AIM."

As the girl explained her style, James rolled his eyes. "Yeah, which is why I was confused as to why you were using it." The sensor in his cowl's heads up display informed him that she had an open comm signal. He opted not to hack it and just nodded as he looked around. The cowl was modified with some extra sensor gear to help detect various threats. James had installed a comm sensor to allow him to trace and hack into enemy communications to put him a step ahead of his adversaries. In this case, he opted not to breach Robin's privacy. He owed her a modicum of basic respect.
He switched his sensors on and began sweeping the thugs for various pieces of technology after they were disabled. "Because getting shot and stabbed hurts and occasionally, it's nice for them to just not try to kill you." James was in Gotham because AIM had been using these people to help move tech and God only knew what else for some sorts of experiments they were running. They were mostly the brains of the operations, but these guys were the muscle. "They're thugs for hire. AIM scientists don't tend to get their hands dirty too often. They use guys like this for the dirty work. Moving tech, people, experiments. Sometimes the occasional theft or killing. Whatever AIM needs, folks like this tend to be willing to do, as long as they don't ask any questions to make a buck."
Rummaging through two of the thugs' pockets, James came up with a couple of burner phones. He pulled a mini-usb cord from his glove and plugged it into each one, cloning the data on the phones and transmitting into his computer back at his hideaway. While going over the data and talking to Robin, he failed to miss the thug that he had hit with the shield the first time, regaining consciousness. The thug pulled something out of his jacket and injected it into his neck. Cap turned and looked as the thug stood up and began to bulk up, tearing through his clothing. The hulking thug screamed in pain as bony protrusions emerged from his knuckles, armoring them with small spikes. Similar protrusions emerged from his elbows, shoulders, knees and spine.
James stood up, gripping his shield. "Huh. You don't see that everyday."

As he explained why these thugs were AIM material she had to believe it made sense. It wasn't a terrible option. However if they were running tech and other sciency stuff for AIM it was likely they were versed in moving OTHER items. Which meant they might have information regarding her past and the people she was still looking for. She didn't believe she could follow him undetected, but if he was going to question them she should pay attention. She'd shut them down for good, no matter who was funding them. Whether it be AIM, HYDRA, or even SHIELD, she didn't care. There was no way she'd let this go.
"And here I thought they were just morons. Proves they've got some use after all. Of course considering how quickly they were taken out they might be second guessing it."
She said with a smirk. She leaned on her bow and simply watched him perform.
'I know what you're thinking Robin, and don't. He's not the sidekick type and he probably doesn't want a partner.'
She was about to answer when one of the thugs got up. Before she could even respond he jammed something in his neck and began to grow. With a slight laugh she drew an arrow and readied it.
"Oh, before I forget, welcome to Gotham."
When she believed the spiked monstrosity was done growing she fired an exploding arrow. She aimed for the center of his chest but it ended up hitting low in his stomach. The explosion would be strong, but she assumed not strong enough to kill him. Well unless he was suddenly full of flammable material. Of course that could happen, assuming her titanium tipped arrow could even pierce his skin. She'd chosen those sort of tips due to the lightweight material yet armor piercing capability. Of course worst case scenario she still had her trick up her sleeve.

"Well, I didn't say they weren't morons. They're just well paid morons."
James sighed as Robin welcomed him. This was just his luck. He had been hoping that none of them were carrying anything like this on their person. It was going to be one of those days. Robin fired an arrow at the former goon, current monster and the tip pierced his stomach. It was a decent shot. It would have been a kill shot had the man been shorter and well, more manly. The creature quickly reached down and tried to pull it out. It looked like he might have accomplished it, except that the arrow detonated a microsecond later, damaging his stomach, chest and taking off part of the hand.
Cap readied his shield and reached into his holster, drawing his .45. He wasn't taking any chances with this thing. James promptly leveled the gun at the creature and emptied most of the clip into him. Sadly, the bullets were much less effective than the arrow. The stunned creature looked at them as the wounds on his chest and stomach started to heal. It looked like some of the fingers were regenerating too. Cap shook his head after watching the slugs push out of the bullet wounds and the holes heal up behind them. It eyed James up and raised the rather sizable, undamaged fist.
Cap instinctively brought the shield up above his head and was pushed down by the force of the creature's impact. He was glad the shield cancelled out vibrations, because he was fairly sure his fillings would have rattled in the third grade from that shot. He slipped out from under the fist and started throwing blows into the stomach and other injured areas, trying to take advantage of the wounds to cause pain.
A quick back hand knocked James back into some trash cans. He looked up at Robin and shrugged before climbing back to his feet..
"So, this is going to be fun. Quick briefing: This guy seems to be hopped up on something that's boosting his regeneration in addition to the upgrade to his looks. The good news is, that its temporary and we should be able to overwhelm it with enough damage. In theory, anyway."

Having finished up with her mooks, Lydia made her way toward her brother. Phil had sent her along for backup with James, and they had split up to cover more grown and go after multiple targets. But she was to deliver her targets to awaiting SHIELD agents for interrogation. Phil didn't want her punching answers out of people as she tended to punch too hard.
Hearing the tell tale signs of a fight through her comm, she picked up the pace. Then listening in on his debriefing, she knew things had gone south. And it meant she got to punch something.
"Here I come to save the daaaaaaaay!" she sang, perhaps a little off tune. She dove, feet first at the newly mutated man, stomping him back down to the ground and making a sizable dent in the concrete.
"You know," she perched on her foe, nonchalant. "to be fair, your kid sister hits like a mac truck. You could have given the guy some credit," she smirked at James. Then the big guy moved under her and quickly, she lifted off of him, her eyes starting to glow. He lunged at her and she neatly dodged out of his way, mindful of James and Robin also sharing this tiny space. He took another swing at her, seeming more confident now as he began adjusting to his new form. He was getting quicker too by the second. She sent a few blasts at his face to blind him abs he roared, swinging wildly.
"That's not good..." she flew in close to deliver a one two punch and age couldn't keep track of his erratic and wildly swinging arms. One good smack sent her through a wall.
"Ok... Now I'm mad." she flew out of the hole she'd just made and cracked him right in the jaw, delivering her own version of a one two punch. Actual connecting fist followed by a large photon blast. He staggered back, half his face missing as he clutched at it with his still reforming hand.
"OK, tall, big and incredibly ugly... Ready for round two?"

She felt a sickness in her stomach as the arrow both pierced and detonated. However it got even worse when he simply began to heal from it. She knew things were about to get even worse and she was well out of her depth. She turned and ran, leaping off a wall and grabbing a hanging ladder for a fire escape. She quickly climbed and drew a flaming arrow as Cap went after him. Arrows seemed to do a better job than bullets, possibly due to the finer impact point and maybe even their slower speed. She'd examine the reason behind it later, for now she had an insanely dangerous freak to deal with.
"Ah theory, everything works in theory."
She grumbled. She was about to fire a flaming arrow, taking aim at the spot between the man's eyes when she heard someone signing. With a groan she turned and looked, seeing a familiar face, Captain Marvel. Of course she'd be here, why wouldn't she. She kept her arrow drawn, watching the fight between the two. However once Marvel was sent through a wall she shook her head and took aim again. This time she took aim at the leg. Clearly a shot to the head wouldn't be enough. So she figured her best option was slow it down long enough that either Captain could take him out. Her arrow ignited as it went through the air, hitting him in the knee cap. She then began to fire regular arrows at him. Some hitting center mass and others hitting limbs. She knew they wouldn't be enough but she also knew it'd be a distraction and likely slow down his regeneration. Her fire speed wasn't even half of an Arrow-family member or either Hawkeye. But it was faster than the average person and enough to distract him.

Thomas he been out on patrol much like any other night and so far things had been going smoothly. A street robbery here, an attempted assault there. The usual for the still crime filled streets of Gotham, however, his comm's soon clicked to life and through them came a familiar voice. 'Thomas, got some new information for you. Turns out we've got ourselves a superhero showdown going on, and not far from you.' Looking out over the city from his perch atop a gargoyle, his fathers favorite spot, he tapped the side of his cowl activate his comm. "Say that again... Are you telling me we've got people working in Gotham and you're only just telling me now?"
A sigh could be heard from the other side as Herald replied. 'Yes, that's what I'm telling you... If I'd known about it sooner I'd have said something but they didn't even go through the normal channels to let you know they were coming in... From the little I could get off the local street cams... Looks like it's Captain America, Captain Marvel and... Oh you're not going to like this...' Thomas stood at that last part and felt his left eye begin to twitch. "What aren't I going to like..." There was a long pause before Dick finally came back. 'Looks like there's someone out there dressed like Robin...' Thomas growled before clicking off his comm and gliding towards the location. When he came in close his comm chirped once more ]'Looks like there's another radio signal coming from that girl. I'll block it and tap into it. Since I know damn well you're going to want to have a chat.'
With that Dick quickly cut off whoever was on the other end of Robin's comm's and simply spoke one phrase. 'Just so you know... You're going to want to run, I know you will... Bit of helpful advice... Don't.' With that Robins comm's would go dead and she would soon see the reason why as Thomas dropped from the rooftop like he always did. Quickly and quietly he landed behind the large brute of a man that seemed to be giving both Captains a hard time. As he stood to his feet he brought his one arm up and fired a small dart from the gauntlet. The brute turned, his face how fully healed, and glared at Thomas for a moment. "What ever you're thinking about doing... Don't, I've just injected a serum into your blood stream that has canceled out your healing abilities..." The man obviously cared little for what the Bat had to say and charged him.
Moving quickly and with almost no wasted movements, Thomas jumped up and turned mid air, grabbing the man by the head and using his own momentum against him to drive his head into the wall. Right before impact however, Thomas used the mans body to vault off of, increasing his speed and the impact with which he would hit the wall. A moment later the man fell to the ground unconscious. Between the hit to the head, and suddenly having the one edge he had taken from him, the brute was exhausted and thus dealt with. Thomas stood to his full height a moment later and cracked his neck, placing a hand upon his cowl. "Herald... I'll have another blood sample for you when I'm done here... Seems there's more than we thought." He then turned and glared at both Captains. "Both of you... Out of my city... And next time you want to run an op out here... It goes through me..."
It was then that his glare turned up and landed squarely upon Roxy. "You... I don't know who you are, but you're coming with me... Get down here."

Captain America watched Roxy rain arrows at the mutated thug. His cowl continued to scan and compile information on the new found powers the thug had. As Captain Marvel came in singing, James sighed into his comm. "Just make with the light show and do some damage, Sparkles." As Lydia fired her photon blasts and punches Cap calculated the best way to take this beast down. He was rather impressed by its ability to regenerate half its face. His thoughts were right. It had increased regeneration, but it wasn't unlimited. This serum was flawed.
As Captain Marvel flew through a wall, punching a hole in it as she went, he gritted his teeth. He knew Lydia was okay. She'd shrugged off worse than that. The fire arrow that Robin had fired did sufficient damage to stun the creature momentarily. James was caught slightly off guard by the presence of Batman descending from the rooftops. Well, that wasn't exactly accurate. He was thrown off by the late presence of the Dark Knight to this skirmish. He noticed the dart that Batman used and watched him take down the large thug with little effort. James was actually impressed with the guy in the bat costume.
Or at least he would have been until the guy tried to order them out of "his city". Cap smiled at him, attempting and probably failing at suppressing the full snark and annoyance that welled up. "Sorry, friend. Last time I checked, you weren't a law enforcement official and this isn't your city. I'm here by order of SHIELD and last time I checked I was an authorized agent of the Federal Government. I realize that you and your ilk treat this town like your own personal fiefdom, so with as much respect as I can muster, I'll run my OPs where I want, when I want. And if you're not thrilled about it, talk to your local elected officials. As for those two, they're on loan to me from the Teen Titans by special request. So, Robin will be staying here with me until I say otherwise."
"Now, would you like to cooperate with my investigation and work with us, or did you want to be arrested for interfering with a Federal Investigation? 'Cause between you and me, I'd like to work with you, but otherwise I can bust your jaw and haul you down to a nice prison cell. Your choice."

'Blue Bat, we'll need you to suit up and head over to where Batman is. I'm worried that this won't end well, for anyone. The last thing we need is another Civil War.'
JJ had already made a way towards his special closet where he had his suit. As he ran he passed his daughter's room and saw her doing her homework. He stopped and leaned his head in and she didn't even bother to look up.
'Yeah yeah, do my homework, be good, etc. Have fun and tell uncle Thomas hi!'
JJ laughed lightly. It was true JJ himself saw Thomas less as an uncle and more like a brother, or at least cousin. But the fact that Barby thought of Thomas simply as an uncle was nice to know.
"Wait, another civil war?"
'That was a...weird time. I'm sending you the coordinates now. Now hurry up before you need to clean up Tommy's mess.'
He groaned in agreement before accessing the secret compartment and changing. In a flash he was out the window, easily avoiding the paparazzi who occasionally hung out around his place. He was quickly moving along the rooftops, heading for the destination in question. He'd already been tuned into Herald's frequency, listening to everything. Silently he landed on the fire escape beside Roxy and placed a hand on her shoulder.
"He's right. Running only makes it worse."
He looked down, listening to the exchange and shook his head. He jumped over the side of the fire escape and landed cross-legged on a dumpster, hands in his lap.
"Well, as much fun as a fight between Captain America and Batman would be to watch, and Marvel, I got 20 on the Bat, there's something more important going on. Bats, the Captain is an Avenger, as in our ally. Herald mentioned something about a Civil War, whatever that was. Either way, Mr. 'Murica is right, we should help. But Cap, my boy Bats here has a point. Someone running around Gotham as Robin, that needs to be discussed. Plus she's not a Titan, only Marvel is."
He said before hopping down from the dumpster. He walked over to the guy on the ground and began to poke him with his boot before whistling.
"I don't envy his headache when he wakes up. But anyways, the way I see it we got three plans. 1, massive fight between Batman and Captain America which I'm not completely against, just so we're clear. 2, Bats takes this Robin imposter and I help the Captains out and we settle this AIM issue. Or 3, we all work together, and then the Caps and I get a drink while Bats and Robin have a chat."
He said with a smirk. He pulled out a blue bat shuriken and began to twirl it from finger to finger, a slightly nervous habit he had on occasion. He looked from person to person, but also kept an eye on Roxy. He saw her begin to move and a quick flick of the wrist implanted it an inch from her foot. He made a tsk, tsk, tsk sound and looked back at the rest of the people.

Watching Batman take down her new friend in a matter of seconds was, she would admit, impressive. She had been ready to wail on him until the serum ran out. But the needle in the neck was a cool trick too. Of course, then he opened his mouth. She'd heard mention of his prickly demeanor and over protectiveness of this one particular spot of land, which she thought was a bit crazy. There was a whole world in constant need of protection, what made one place more special than any other, she wondered. She was about to retort, an entire tirade waiting behind her lips when one terse word came through her headset. "Marvel" Phil said, practically growling in her ear, and her mouth closed again, slightly pouting. James was much calmer, if not at least as respectful as she would have been.
Then, of course, as was supposed to happen in Gotham apparently, another bat appeared out of the woodwork. This one seemed much friendlier though. A bit more of a personality, less prickly and she could help but grin.
"Oh, I'd take your 20 and whatever you got left in your pockets on that bet, Mister. As for Robin, I...made her a part timer last time we met. Just forgot to give her a communicator." Lydia patted around her person for her own comm unit, coming up with it and tossing it to Robin nonchalantly. "And I'd like number three, but I don't think he works well with others." She hiked her thumb over at Batman.

Roxy froze as Batman descended from the rooftops and took out the big creature without even truly trying. But what really scared her was when her comm signal cut out and was replaced with another vaguely familiar voice. Being a 'daughter' of Huntress she'd met some of the people from her past, like Dick Grayson. They seemed close too, close enough that Question seemed slightly on edge when the two were together. That seemed unlikely to her however. Huntress and Question were in love, that much was obvious to anyone. She didn't know what to say, to respond to whoever was on the other side of the communicator. Then another Bat landed beside her and seemed to repeat what the guy in her comm had said.
"Who is this?"
She said into her communicator that only got a slight laugh in response. He was arrogant and she hated him already. She got a feeling she'd be dealing with him a lot in the future and that made her even more angry. As they all seemed to debate and argue down below she figured she'd take this opportunity to escape. Of course as soon as she saw an opportunity she decided to make an escape. However that didn't quite go as planned as when she took a step a shuriken was stuck right near her foot. With a sigh she stopped and turned her attention back to the men and woman arguing for and about her. With a sigh she crossed her arms and leaned against a wall, simply waiting. She hated people talking about her like she wasn't even there. Not to mention this made it even worse, as she realized Batman wanted to talk to her. Yes this is what she wanted but now she was incredibly nervous about it. She quickly snatched the communicator out of the air and examined it.
"A Teen Titan? Me? I don't see it."
She said primarily to herself, for once actually doing what she was told.
