Captain America watched the newcomer in the bat suit descend. He rolled his eyes beneath the mask. There must have been a convention down the street. It wasn't his day. The second bat suited guy was already starting to annoy him by betting on the bat. "I don't care if she's one of the 12 Apostles personally, you're still not the law in this town. And as far as I'm concerned she found the people. I have a rule. She's as much a part of this as I am now. I don't really care how many people in bat suits you bring in. Either of you want to become law enforcement, go get a badge."
There was little point in prodding the Bats, but Robin had found the thugs first and she was tied to the case now. James didn't abandon anyone. He was fairly sure that Lydia would back his play. She usually did. "Option four: Batman talks to her here, in front of me. I'm not permitting a key witness to leave. Thanks, but no thanks." James gripped his shield a little tighter. He didn't want to fight a couple of Batmen, but he would if he had to. Instinct took over and he began searching for weak spots in their armor. It was just something he did regularly.

Thomas sighed as he stared down the Captain. He saw the slight tensing of muscle and spotted the way his eyes were moving. He simply shook his head in response. "Whatever you're thinking, don't... I've dealt with guys stronger and faster than you and won. So just put whatever thoughts you just had in the deepest corner of your mind." Looking up at his nephew he couldn't help but sigh once more. JJ was right and he knew it, however, he didn't have to like it. He and Batman Inc had more than enough control over Gotham that they could have easily dealt with this without SHIELDs help. Even so his head slowly turned back to the Captain so he could once again address him.
"First things first, this is my city... If the GCPD wanted me behind bars they'd know how to find me. The fact that Batman Inc. is even around is proof enough that they are on my side so you're little threat there is null and void. As for talking to her, fine I'll talk to her here... But not in front of you... She may be a part of this investigation but what I need to speak with her about is Bat business which means neither you or Marvel over there are to be involved."
Thomas thumbed towards the tallest roof as he crossed his arms over his chest. "Here's my option... Me and "Robin" go up to that roof and have our little chat now then we all get back to work on this case... Or, once this is done, you get out of my city and she stays with me to hash out what needs to be hashed out in private... Either way she and I are having our chat outside of earshot from you..." With that Thomas began looking over the Captain, luckily his eyes were hidden under his mask. Much like had just been done to him, he was looking for any weak point he could exploit if the Captain took exception to his offer.

JJ was getting really annoyed with this whole empty threat testosterone crap. He glanced over at Captain Marvel and Robin for any help. Even Herald was quiet in his ear which meant he was either confused or annoyed, or both. Either way JJ knew this needed to wrap up if they wanted any hope of getting a hold of AIM and whoever was running weapons. Gotham had enough criminal enterprises in its city. They didn't need AIM also causing problems. Especially with all these bio-weapons like this fool before them.
"Girls girls, you're both pretty. Now I'm voting for taking out who ever this is and the the Bat can talk to Robin alone. Or you two can sit here and jibber jabber and try and out-testosterone each other while Marvel, Robin and I go deal with this threat. Because personally I'm growing tired of standing around listening to you two."
He said shaking his head, hands on his hips. He looked at the two of them before stepping back to see Marvel and Robin better.
"Ladies, Herald got a hit on a likely location not far from here. The walking freak jobs like our friend patrolling the area tipped him off. Well that and the snipers and drones in a block radius. Most are hidden by some sort of cloaking device. It could be fun though. Hell we'll likely each got shot once or twice. Plus I wanna see if one of those big guys goes down with a shot to the pills. Usually does the trick regardless of size. So the kick is for like...science and stuff."
He said with a shrug before glancing at Thomas.
"Don't be angry Herald talked to me instead. He did always like me more. Plus you were...preoccupied with the Star Spangled Sassy Pants. So we doing this or what?"[/color]

Roxy was growing annoyed with this whole situation. She hated people making decisions for her, especially something like this. But to make matters worse they were talking about her like she wasn't there. With a roll of the eyes she sat down on the fire escape, slipping her legs through the bars in the railing and waiting. She began to whistle calmly, her legs swinging as she looked down at the three arguing.
"Hey boys, how about we let me decide what I want to do and who I want to talk to. I don't know any of you and if you all think you can make decisions for me then you can..."
'Careful little bird. But I like to see you have that Robin spunk.'
"...anyways you can forget it. I knew operating in Gotham I'd end up talking to the Bat. Hell I knew just dressing as Robin would bring him to me, it was kinda my intention. Not to mention Cap, I don't need you to protect me."
She said shaking her head. She hated the way they were acting. JJ was right it was just a whole bunch of testosterone. All they did was argue back and forth about what was best for her and best to do. She hated that and wasn't about to sit around here and let them figure it out.
"So ya know what, I'm taking the Blue Bat's side. You two figure it out while we go and deal with this. And speaking of Blue, hey marvel, any ways you can get ahold of the blue eyed Kryptonian? Ya know...for back up."

There was a very small part of Captain Marvel that would actually like to see who'd win in a fight; her brother or the Bat (her money was on James, obviously). But she knew that would be bad. And that they'd both get yelled at about it later, something about being massively counter productive. So she gave up on that little pipe dream and let them continue to circle each other like the alpha males they were, intent on not egging them on (even if she really wanted to). Then Blue Bat spoke up as a voice of reason and she had to snicker at least a little bit. She did like his idea to just leave them there and go finish this case without them bickering at each other. She'd signed on to help because she wanted to stop people like AIM, not get into a land war in Asia Gotham.
"Oh! Count me in! I don't mind getting shot at. I'm a great shiny distraction. They can waste all their bullets on me." Marvel clapped her hands and flew over to where Blue Bat stood, and then looked down at James and giggled. "Star Spangled Sassy Pants. That's a good one. I'm saving that for later."
When Robin mentioned their new Kryptonian friend, she had to think for a moment. "Ah....yeeeees? I think so. I mean, besides just asking out loud...He should have a communicator too. Think we need another hitter or..." Lydia thought for a moment. He was still adjusting to his powers and though he said he had control, she thought better of it. She'd like to put him in a much more controllable situation. And not have him in front of both Cap and Batman at the same time. Both of them could be very critical if they felt the need. "On second thought, let's hold off on call him in just yet. I can handle the big guys. Though you know you can come viiisiiiit anytime." She grinned at Robin, waggling her eyebrows, even though that was impossible to see through her helmet.

"Lydia, thank God I found you!" Walt was suddenly behind Captain Marvel, tapping her shoulder rapidly, his finger a blur. "What are you doing here?" he asked wonderingly.
He immediately lost interest. He was still speaking to Lydia, urgently, and still on his first breath.
"Hey, Lids, do we have any more of those cookies? Those macaroons? 'Cause I remember you saying you were going to make some more, but I was just up at the Tower, and I couldn't find... whoa."
Walt stopped speaking abruptly. He had noticed the alley's inhabitants. He recognized Robin and Lydia, but the others he was seeing for the first time.
Batman. Captain America. And... Blue Batman?
Walt was silent and still for two seconds- a personal best. By the third, he had sprinted to his home in Keystone City to retrieve his personal camera, returned, and taken a photograph. It was a classic type, self-developing, the only kind for which Walt had the patience. He was able to get Captain America, Batman, and himself in the same shot by pressing the trigger on the camera before rushing to get in the frame and then back to catch it. The flash from the camera lit up the dark alley, drawing all attention fully to Walt, who was oblivious, rapidly shaking the newly-printed photo to help it develop. As it did, and Walt came to focus upon a photo of two of his major role models, wearing blank expressions, and himself in the middle, with his arms around both, sporting two thumbs-up and a huge, excited smile.
Looking down at it and beaming, Walt was shaking his head elatedly. "Oh, Marty is never going to believe this..." When he finally looked up, he noticed several sets of eyes staring at him.
He glanced at Lydia.
Then he ran.
