"I think we all keep more to ourselves than we should...Phil keeps trying to get me to go to a therapist..." Trailing behind him, Lydia looked about as they came inside. Lofts had always been interesting to her. She'd forgo stairs and just fly up to her bed if she lived in a loft apartment. Letting Admiral Fluffy Paws wander away, she did as Sebastian suggested and made herself at home, poking around at a few things before looking over his paintings.
Changing seemed like a good idea, and Lydia followed suit. She didn't have to wave her hand or snap her fingers to activate the change, but it was a subconscious connection between the act and the gesture. After a moment her costume was replaced with a floral skirt, low tops and and a tank top. She spun around as he came downstairs, hands behind her back.
"I don't know. What's your specialty? I should like to try that."

He smiled as he seen she'd changed and nodded his head. It was a simple request but he could likely whip that up. He wasn't entirely sure exactly what he had in his fridge but he could probably figure something out. He slid down the railing the rest of the way and made his way into the little kitchen he had there. He opened the fridge and began pulling things out.
"Well I don't know why you'd need to talk to a therapist Bubbles, but we all have demons. Either way you're better off than me."
He said before turning around. He began filling a pot with water before putting it on the stove.
"Hell I'm petrified of birds, like pretty much on an unhealthy level. Of course that's due to my terribly f*cked up upbringing."
He said with a shrug. He grumbled to himself and ignored the light laugh from the cat tree. There Admiral Fluffy Paws lay, batting a small toy mouse back and forth.
"I made a deal with a demon after spending decades training to be a dark sorcerer and my upbringing was more normal than yours Sebastian."
"Most were Admiral Fluffy Paws."
He said grabbing a knife and beginning to cut apart a whole chicken. He dragged his finger through some pooling blood and licked it off his finger.
"I only buy the best. Kinda hipster douchey yes, but I hate the taste of blood that's been filled with hormones and what not."
He said before sliding the chicken onto a sizzling saute pan and washing his hands. He then threw some seasoning into the pan and turned back to Lydia.
"Besides, if you ever want to talk about anything Bubbles you can talk to me. I'm part demon and undead vampire, really not the type who can judge. Can I get you anything to drink?"
He asked before placing an opaque bottle in the microwave for a few seconds.

"Oh, well, you know....traumatized child who watched her parents be murdered. Seems to come with the territory in this gig really." Lydia floated up to get a closer look at some of his paintings. She'd always admired Seb's work, used to go to galleries to look at them. So to see them here, in his own place, was just a little bit (of a lot) of a dream. She'd never thought to ask, though he probably would have said yes.
She kept her hands laced behind her back so as not to touch the canvases. She'd never been able to master painting. She loved using pencils and pens, markers and on good days charcoal. Painting was something she could do but she wasn't confident enough in it to ever finish any of her pieces. She had so many unfinished canvases back in the tower, hidden away, never to see the light of day. Maybe Sebastian could teach her some of his tricks.
"You know, some people handle things better than others. Your upbringing I guess just made you uniquely suited to those circumstances. And...I mean...you're relatively normal for people in our line of work." Floating back down as he put the cup in the microwave, she tried not to scrunch up her nose too much. He had to eat too, she was just glad it wasn't from a person. She leaned against the wall, watching him cook as she crossed one leg over the other.
"Sure, um...I'll take some pop if you have it.....hey, if you only drink blood, what's the food in the fridge for?"

He didn't feel like commenting but she was right. Hell it seemed every other hero watched their parents die. Whether it was from the Battle or general crime fighting, it happened a lot. Of course to agree seemed like it'd diminish her trauma. This little spell was proving to be really annoying. It was changing the way he thought and behaved.
"Hey, just because it's semi-normal doesn't make it any easier."
He said with a groan and pinch of his nose. He shook his head and went back to cooking, watching her look at his paintings. Good, bring up paintings, he was ok talking about that. Hell, if anything he enjoyed talking about it. Primarily because it meant he got to talk about himself. Himself was his favorite person. But then she had to make a comment about his upbringing.
"Seriously? I was raised to take over a realm in Hell and run the Church of Blood. I was beaten constantly as a child, rescued, only to lose my mother and then get saddled with a snarky familiar."
'HEY!'
"Sorry but I'm not. But then again everyone assumes they have it the worst. I just hide it with a thick layer sarcasm, sexual innuendos, come ons and evil. Although this stupid spell is pissing me off."
He said shaking his head before taking a swig of blood from the microwave. He shook his head and set it down. Too hot, he didn't like that. He'd need to let it cool.
"Surprised you never asked before, I'm always cooking. Well actually I'm not surprised. I spend pretty much every waking moment hunting down artifacts or coming onto you. Not a lot of room for conversation. But the food gives me no nutritional value. It just helps me feel normal. In the end that's all any of us really want. Normalcy. Of course in our line of work normal is up for debate."
This spell had opened the flood gates and he was being more honest than he ever would've been. He normally would've been hitting on her constantly, of course that could still happen. But it was bringing up many more emotions he hadn't even thought were still around. He often thought he was just a good old fashioned Incupire. He opened her a pop and handed it to her with a glass of ice.
"So I wanna know Bubbles. What makes you actually try to converse with me instead of get annoyed with me and leave? I do a good job pushing people away. For their own good of course."

Lydia smiled at his little ranting about normalcy as she drank her pop. He was right, normal was a relative term. Especially for people like them. She played with the glass a little, rolling it between her hands as she watched him cook for her. Even if it offered no nutritional value, there was still variety and taste to consider. She'd get tired of just drinking blood all the time too if that's all she had to subsist on.
She met his eyes at his question with a little grin. She was actually quiet enjoying this spell. "Because, like you said, all the come ons are something you hide behind. I know there's an actual person under there and I'm just trying to find him. And I'm used to people trying to push me away when they actually need me the most. So I stay."

She was quiet, which meant she was thinking. In his experience a quiet thinking woman was usually dangerous. Of course that was primarily because it meant his lines and maybe even pheromones weren't working. That was risky, he liked being in control. Sure he often came off as the underling or someone else who wasn't in charge. However he often had a great deal of control in his life. This was due to him having no control as a child when he was growing up. Sure he was often seen as just a member of the Titans but he had control. He got to come and go as he pleased and anytime they were dealing with a supernatural threat he often called the shots. Plus Admiral Fluffy Paws listened to him, whether he wanted to or not. Of course trying to convince himself he was in charge took more work than he liked to let on.
"I haven't done anything to deserve a friend like you Bubbles. However the come ons are more than just a shield."
He said with a wink.
"I mean I don't hit on EVERYHTING that moves. Only those I find extremely attractive, and fun."
He laughed lightly. That much was actually true. He didn't just hit on people randomly. Of course it could be seen like that since he did hit on a lot of people. But it was more like he was just...not picky. He dumped the pasta in the water and threw in some salt before going back to cooking the chicken.
"Ok, well that part really isn't true when the New Moon hits. But I really can't be held accountable for my full Incubus self. Not like I really had training with it."

Sipping on her coke, Lydia took in the scene before her. It was rare she ever saw Sebastian outside of the Tower, rarer still she ever saw him do something so...domestic. She liked it. He wasn't hitting on her every two seconds and they were actually having a nice, if interesting conversation. He was being open and more honest than she'd ever known him to be and it was the first time she felt relaxed around him.
He'd always been a looker, though she was sure that helped with his powers, Ave she would find herself staring at him on occasion. But she'd never put any stock into it because in the back of her head, she knew it was just surface stuff. Now though, he was growing on her, being genuine. A part of her would be sad when the spell wore off. She rather liked him this way, without all the posturing and bravado.
"Oh...you never actually do anything to get a friend like me, Seb. But to keep me, just do what you're doing right now. You're much more charming when you're not tossing one liners at me. I've become rather immune to them," she grinned at him, setting her glass down and going about finding plates and silverware and such. Most kitchens were set up the same, so it took her little time to locate them. Plates in a cabinet, silverware in a drawer. She at them up at the table at sat down.
"Maybe you should consider some training for it. Might help you control it more. Though I have no idea how you would train for that kind of thing."

"Yeah, see, that's new to me. Well for one actually having a friend is new to me. I mean sure I've got the allies in the Titans but we all know the rest of them aren't my friends. There's Rapidos who only puts up with me because Batman brought me in, the space cop who, while cute, is extremely annoying. Then there's Arthur who...."
He grumbled and shook his head. He didn't like bringing up Arthur, it was annoying. Sure he put up with Arthur because they were allies. But at the end of the day he wanted to drain him and leave him in a ditch. Of course he knew doing so would result in the entire Teen Titans, Justice League and any other hero going after him. He wouldn't win, but the war could prove fun.
'You have me Sebastian.'
"Yes of course I have you Admiral Fluffy Paws. You're my best friend, no questions. But among the Titans after them there's you Bubbles. I mean sure I hit on you. But that's for an entirely...."
He bit his lip and gripped the counter. As he gripped it he felt it ease under his fingers and then begin to crack.
"Nope nope nope, not saying it."
His lips began to tremble as he did his best to keep it back before he grabbed the filet knife and drove it into his thigh.
"Ah, that's better. Physical pain over deep truth..."
He said with a sigh before glancing over at her as she set the table. He was doing his best to keep that truth hidden. Sure he could somewhat handle small basic truths and even medium ones like he was saying randomly, but the big one was a different one entirely. He only had two or three big truths he hadn't told anyone but Admiral Fluffy Paws, but that was it.
"Well if you're willing to help me train Bubbles I'm down. Best case scenario I gain full control of my Incubus self. Worst case scenario, you're pregnant. Which, well, not worst worst. I mean we would make an adorable baby."
He said before sauteing everything together before dumping the pasta into a colander in the sink. As the pasta drained he opened a bottle of wine and poured two glasses for them.

She had the last plate in her hand, listening to Sebastian as he talked about the rest of their team. She agreed about Marty, he was cute but too annoying to save him. He didn't finish why he was saying about Arthur and that made her look up from what she was doing. She thought Arthur was a perfectly nice kid. And he had good taste in super hero shirts. She smiled as he listed her right after Admiral Fluffy Paws. But he stopped mid sentence, right when he was about to say something interesting.
She frowned, setting the last plate and missing him stabbing himself in the thigh. On one hand, she wanted to push him to continue but he seemed determined in his silence. Still, she wondered what he was going to say. Then he started going on about helping him with his incubus training and adorable babies. She turned to him, retort about her brother murdering him if that happened when she saw his leg.
"Sebastian! What-what did you just-Sebastian what the hell!?" He was carrying on like it was nothing but he was bleeding out of his thigh! Lydia rushed over to him, fussing about, grabbing a towel and realizing it was useless. She had forgotten he could heal quickly in all the fuss. She sighed, tossing the towel on the counter and running a hand threw her hair.
"That...was not from the fight earlier. You know, there are better ways to distract yourself than with pain." She grabbed the glass of wine and took a drink, then made a face. She couldn't understand why adults drank that stuff.

Sebastian was glad the stabbing had stopped the flow of truth. He had no desire to actually say what he was thinking. That much truth was something he wanted to keep bottled up. As soon as this night was over he'd need to get rid of this annoying curse. It was going to be much more annoying as the night went on, something he really didn't approve of. He preferred lying, it was more fun and easier for him.
"What can I say? I wasn't taught how to deal with things so well. So violence is sort of a go to move, but it worked."
He said with a smile. He looked down at her hands on his thigh and raised an eyebrow, smirking lightly.
"It's good to see someone's concerned about my well being for once."
He said watching her drink her wine. He added a small vial to his wine and took a sip. He glanced down, seeing how close she was and looked at her with a smile. Now this was something he was used to and comfortable with. A beautiful woman, or person in general, close to him in a romantic situation. Well, ok maybe not romantic, but romantic-esque.
"Well what kind of distractions did you have in mind Bubbles?"
He asked with a smile and leaning in closer. He reached out and took her free hand, bringing it to his lips and gently kissing it.
"Because I have to say Bubbles, having you right here there's only one thing coming to mind. It'll result in dinner getting cold but that is such a minor issue right now I couldn't care less."
He said, his thumb gently rubbing the back of her hand. He reached up with his free hand, caressing her cheek.
"You truly are the most beautiful person I've ever met Bubbles."

This close up, Lydia couldn't help but notice how beautiful Sebastian was. Sure she had known, she had eyes, but she always was able to remind herself it was part of what he was, how he could attract prey. But being this close, she couldn't take her eyes off of him. Her skin felt hot, and for a moment she had to wonder if he was using any of his powers on her. But he'd promised he wouldn't. He'd promised her just dinner. And yet, her heart was starting to race and her hand felt like it was on fire where he kissed it.
"But...dinner should get cold...you worked so hard on it for me." She said weakly. When he caressed her cheek, she sighed and leaned into it. Get a grip, Danvers! Lydia mentally yelled at herself and her eyes snapped open. She looked at Sebastian. He was being very sincere right at that moment, but she would not be weak! She smiled at him and took his other hand away from her cheek.
"Dinner first. That's what you said. Go slow with me, Sebastian. Every time I go down this road, it never works. So for right now...dinner. That's all I want." She stood on her toes and gave him a small kiss on his cheek, squeezing his had reassuringly.

As she shut him down he couldn't help but feel defeated. Sure she was out of his league, as were most of his conquests. However he usually had some help from his pheromones and occasionally alcohol. But in this situation he had neither of those. Well sure she had a glass of wine but that was only because it paired well with the dinner he was making. Or at the very least that was the excuse he was using.
"Well technically considering the fact you're clothed proves I'm taking it slow. However should being naked make you more comfortable then not only am I ok with it, I encourage it."
He said with a wink. He took a sip of his blood laced wine and smiled lightly as she kissed his cheek.
"Go ahead and take a seat at the table Bubbles, it's just about ready."
He said going back to the stove. Ok, so it wouldn't be so easy to get her into bed. No matter, he'd get it eventually. However this was about something more than just having sex. No, he wanted to get closer to her. He'd never been with someone like her before. Not only talking about sex, just being near someone like her. He was looking forward to this dinner. However he also knew this little truth spell was going to make things difficult. He needed to figure out a way around it since he couldn't beat it.
"This is just something I kinda whipped up. Had I known I would have such a beautiful dinner guest I would've gone shopping."
He said bringing a large bowl of chicken pasta in the middle of the table. Standing behind her he put some pasta on her plate before moving to take his own seat and dishing some up for himself.
"Eat, enjoy. Unless it sucks then I'll order pizza."
He said with a laugh.

"Oh I'm quite comfy in my level of dress right now, thanks." She grinned at him, tapping the tip of his nose. As Lydia sat down, she felt comfortable. More comfortable than she'd ever felt around him before. There were days his constant hitting on her got on her nerves, but most days it was easy to ignore, and sometimes it was endearing. This though, felt more genuine.
After he plated some pasta for her, she snaked an arm around his waist and gave him a hug, leaning her head against his side. "Thanks for dinner. I'm sure it'll taste delicious. Also...I don't like pizza." She let him go, picking up a fork and digging in. Well there was definitely no need to order out, because after that first bite, she was in heaven. She let out a small moan as she continued to chew, simply enjoying the delicious chicken pasta.
"Sebastian...for someone who doesn't require food to live...you sure can cook. Omigod, this is amazing."

He smiled lightly as she awkwardly hugged him around the waist. Well not terribly awkward, if anything he enjoyed it. It wasn't often that he felt content like this. It was confusing to him. He was used to sleeping with women and moving on. The only real relationships he ever had were sexual in nature, as he preferred. But then again Lydia was extremely different.
"Anything for you Bubbles. You did save me after all. Although I do think I would've gotten free and stopped them, eventually."
He said before sitting down with his own plate. He glanced up at her and raised an eyebrow. He didn't really fully understand her reasoning for not liking pizza, but to each their own.
"We'll discuss you're dislike of pizza later. I believe you've never had any good pizza. Hell I once slept with the son of an authentic Italian pizzeria owner. Guy was weird, but I learned how to make killer pizza. Problem is I don't have an ideal oven. But I'm always up for a challenge."
Oh god, was he rambling? He didn't ramble! He was the Incubus Prince of Hell! He was the slayer of inhibitions and really just someone who broke hearts. He didn't ramble, even if her eyes were hypnotizing. Damn it! He needed to get a hold of himself. He needed to fix this, now.
"Well when you eat only for pleasure you learn to make only good food. But thanks Bubbles."
He said nodding his head and raising his glass. He sipped his wine and took a bite. It wasn't bad, but he could've done much better. Of course he was always critical of his cooking.
"Although I gotta admit. Surprised to see you here in the city and not back at the Tower. Not against it of course because it makes for great company."
