Rayne started backing up against a wall. She was barely clothed anymore, the white victorian blouse holey and practically burned away. The men's slacks she had been wearing were barely shorts now, singed and frayed at the ends. Her own hair was standing wildly on end, as if static had been sent through it multiple times. This definitely wasn't going to be good for her hair's health.
"Please, this has all been one big mistake! I'm not a witch! It's not my fault your daughter looks like that! She was ugly before she met me!" She said, keeping her hands up in front of her. This was hardly fair! How come she always ended up in trouble like this?
The men were all holding pitchforks and torches, slowly surrounding her, making sure she couldn't go anywhere. Meanwhile, Rayne herself was focusing on opening up a portal behind her. "Kill the witch! Burn her where she stands!"
"I'm not a witch! Jesus f*cking christ, will you please back up!" She was starting to panick a little on the inside. That pointy pitchfork was getting awfully close to her and her portal was taking a bit longer than usually to open up. Please, please open before it was too late!
"Venomous lies! She was sent here by them. She is here for our daughters. Our daughters! Don't let her looka fool you, brothers!"
Her looks? Awe, that was almost sweet! However, it wasn't as sweet that she could feel heat touching her body again and a sharp pain in her side. She yelped. Blood was already pooling where a pitchfork had pierced her side. The edges of her top were starting to get singed again. Dammit! Dammit all to hell! This was bad. This was real bad.
Finally, though, she could feel the portal open up behind her. Thank the heavens! "You know, i would love to stay and chat but i got a hot date so, uh, bye! Have fun burning your daughters!" Before they could even retort, she leaned backwards, falling back into her own portal.
She could hear the gasps and cries from the chauvanistic pigs. "What is this devil magic?" she heard as she hit the pavement hard. She could see a hand starting to come through and she cut the portal off immediately, severing the hand from it's body.
She was breathing heavily, not even sure just where she was at the moment, only knowing she was back in her own time... somewhere. Her eyes stayed on the hand. Well damn, that couldn't be good. She didn't have much time to think about that, though. Not as the pain in her side started to pulsate and the cold started to become more and more obvious.
She couldn't seem to make herself move at the moment, just staring wide eyed at the hand as she tried to catch her breathe. "Now if that wasn't a close call, i don't know what could be."

Olly was simply enjoying his day off. He didn't really have that very often so when he did, he took advantage of that. He was sitting in his kitchen, sipping his coffee and smoking a cigarette. He was dressed casual, well, casual for him. Black trench coat, black dress pants, red dress shirt and black vest. There was no tie and the top few buttons of his shirt were undone. For him that was extremely laid back. As was evidenced by the fact he was still dressed like this in his own apartment on his day off. The coat was something of a security blanket for him. He didn't like taking it off for numerous reasons. Mainly it hid his weapons, helping add to safety and the mystery. But for some reason it just made him feel better. Like he felt like a real hero, the hero he wanted to be. So it was almost like he needed to prove to himself that he could do it, he could be a hero.
He was just going over his journal when he heard a familiar sound, a portal. Obviously it was his sister, dropping by like she does. They both had a tendency to just pop by each other when they felt like it. He simply laughed lightly and shook his head, going back to his journal.
'Nice to see you too sis.'
He sent to her. But he suddenly picked up that something was really, really wrong. He quickly jumped up and ran over to his balcony, nearly sliding the door off the track as he opened it.
"And you wonder why I hate letting you out of my sight."
He took his coat off and wrapped it around her. As usual he didn't even wait for a response before scooping her up.
"C'mon Asp-hole."
He said, making a little joke. He usually called her by random nicknames, one of the only people he didn't call by formal names. Plus he liked making jokes about some of her many past identities. He set her down on the couch, noticing the blood on her side.
"Keep pressure on your side. If you die I gotta go back in time, make a paradox and then things get messy. But I'm not cut out to be an only child."
He said with a slight laugh before disappearing. He came back with a first aid kit and a blanket. He wrapped the blanket around her and opened the kit.
"Alright, let me get a look at that side. Then we can discuss the hand on my balcony."

Just where she had landed hadn't occured to Rayne at first. Maybe it had been simple chance or maybe, in her more panicked state, she had subconsciously made sure she wound up in the one place she would be safe. Whatever the reason, the familiar voice in her head was quite relaxing to her. It helped her slow her breathing a bit, though those wide eyes didn't leave that hand. It wasn't as if it freaked her out or anything. It was more so she couldn't believe things had gotten so out of hand. Well, out of hand for her at least. Things getting out of hand wasn't anything new for her. But this? Woah, had it been close. A bit too close even.
It wasn't until she was being picked up that she was able to find her words and tear her focus away from the hand. "See, i can take care of myself. Got out alive, didn't i?" she muttered, wincing as she was moved. There was a piercing pain in her side, from the pitchforks no doubt. She didn't know how deep they went but she hoped it wasn't to bad. She hated doctors and would much rather not have to see any from the incident.
As she was set on the couch, her hands immediately went to her side to press against the wound. She wasn't about to be defiant about something so trivial. "Long time no see, bro," she chuckled, trying to act cool about the situation as a whole. "Glad to know the extents you would go to to keep me alive but let me tell you, i ain't gonna go down this easy. Though i don't think i should be returning to Salem, Massachusetts anytime soon."
Rayne slowly took her hand away from her side as he came back into view with a med kit. She managed a lopsided smile as she looked at her hand. It was sticky with blood. Damn, it was worse than she thought. "The hand on your balcony? What hand? I can assure you i don't know what you could possibly mean," she said, looking away. She knew she would likely have to talk but she could pretend for a moment as she started to whistle, trying to seem like she honestly hadn't a clue. Then again, when did whistling ever signify such a thing? She couldn't whistle for long though, wincing. "Okay, ow."

He opted not to point out that she only barely got out alive. Of course that would come later. He liked giving her the whole, 'I told you so' type of speech. Of course she gave him more than enough chances to do the spiel. Although he'd never admit that he gave her just as many chances. After all he'd been a gladiator and prisoner more times than he liked to admit. Plus he didn't like admitting that she'd been the one to save him nearly every time.
"What have I told you about Salem? Of course they're going to assume you're a witch. Hell I myself sometimes consider it."
He said with a light laugh. He brushed his limp pink mohawk off the side of his face before going into the first aid kit. He hadn't quite readied it just yet when his sister dropped by. He lifted up her shirt, or what was left of it, slightly and shook his head.
"Not going to lie, this is going to suck."
He didn't wait for her to respond before pouring the liquid on her side. It was basically just alcohol and he needed to decontaminate the wound. Odds are it wasn't a brand new pitch fork she'd been stabbed with.
"It doesn't look too bad. Not too deep either. Certainly not as bad as the time you just HAAAAD to pet the baby triceratops."
He said with a laugh. He used some foam to stop the bleeding and seal the wound. He knew first hand it stung, but it worked, well, usually.
"Well you should have a sweet scar for awhile."
He said before disappearing. He came back with a shirt and a pair of pants. He always had clothes in her size stashed just for situations like this. It's not completely perfect, but he was somewhat used to her just dropping by. He assumed she had clothes for him at her place but never really asked. He handed her the clothes and shook his head.
"Ok, shower, get dressed and I'll make breakfast. Then we can talk about the hand."

Rayne frowned. "If I'm a witch, what would that make you, Ol? After all, you are my twin. And besides, if I'm a witch, at least I'm a hot one! And not one of those hideously bumpy ugly ones!" She started to laugh only to wince again. Ow, this was already getting annoying to her. She wasn't looking forward to the inevitable sting of the alcohol that she knew was coming. It needed to be cleaned after all.
She didn't have much of a chance to respond to him before he poured it in. She gritted her teeth. "Mother frakker, that f*cking stings!" she practically growled. It was funny, actually. She could take hit, suffer through torture without a whimper. But the act of actually cleaning out the wound always left her with a string of curses at the pain. However, it was likely that she didn't mind showing the pain in her features when she was around the people she trusted to clean her wounds, namely May and Olly. She knew getting it cleaned was a necessity, though. She didn't want to get a disease or infection from their crusty and rusty pitchforks.
"But Olly, who wouldn't want to pet a baby triceratops! And it would have been perfectly fine had it's mother just stayed away for a little bit longer. It wasn't like i was trying to steal it or anything?" she paused a moment, thinking about what she just said. "Shut up, don't even say it. I had decided against taking it, so it clearly wasn't a real plan. Just a quasi-plan that i decided against!"
Well hey, at least she would have a scar to show people at the end of this. Taking the clothes, she slowly got to her feet, trying to make sure she didn't hurt herself. "Oooh, make something good! I'm starved!" To be fair though, she was constantly hungry. She blamed time jumping on it. After all, it did take up energy and food seemed to help replenish it. Or maybe she had a blackhole in her stomach. It seemed like a possibility. Not a likely one but one none the less.
She made her way to the bathroom and, carefully, peeled away what was left of her clothes and toss them into the trash. She took her time in the shower, practically using up all the hot water as she washed away the muck and blood from her hair and body. She didn't look at the water, just letting her thoughts run rampant. But as the steam died away and a chill seemed to start taking over the water, she decided to get out. She wasn't entirely sure how long she had taken in the shower, but she was sure it had taken quite a bit of time.
Stepping out, she quickly dried off and got dressed, wrapping her hair up in the towel. Her side was sore but she would have to live with it. She made her way to the kitchen, practically following her nose as she did. "Mmmm, what's for breakfast?"

He decided not to comment about what her being a witch made him. Primarily because he felt like she was baiting him. Also because he'd been called a Warlock more times than he liked to admit. Not to mention meeting a version of himself that actually was a Warlock. Of course that was one of the few things he hadn't mentioned yet. Or at least he didn't think he'd mentioned it, yet.
"Swearing like a sailor. Tsk tsk, what would our mother say?"
He asked with a laugh. It was a sort of running joke in the family. Primarily because she'd taken to piracy far better than one would expect. Not to mention she still swore like crazy, a hold over from being a pirate. Then again he loved being a pirate and still sailed on occasion, when he had time.
"A quasi-plan? You never plan that much in advance, you and I both know that. Now go shower before you stain my couch any further."
He said before making her breakfast. It wasn't exactly breakfast time as it was more like brunch. But the two of them had weird hours and he'd just woken up so it kind of fit. Once she disappeared into the shower he ducked into his own bathroom and quickly did up his pink mohawk, getting tired of it sticking to his face. He went back to cooking, well in between reading his journal.
'Stop wasting all my water Cleo. You're not a Queen anymore.'
He sent while putting everything on the table. He heard the water stop and put on the finishing touches. As she came out he glanced over his shoulder smiling.
"We got eggs, pancakes, bacon, mutton, escargot, fruit that's extinct now, I think, or it will be, whatever. Then we also got coffee, milk, orange juice or rum."
He said with a smile before sitting down with a glass of rum. It was a sort of hold over from his time as a pirate. He loved his rum and didn't think that'd be changing anytime soon.
"Hey, did you know that in this timeline the US hasn't been invaded by Iceland yet?"

What would mother say? That was a good question. Likely, she would get scolded. And Rayne would probably pretend that she was listening to it, taking in the scolding and promise not to do.it again before stubbing her toe and spewing a string of curses at the damned wall that decided to jump out at her. It wouldn't be the first time it had happened.
The reminder that she was no longer a queen, however, stung a little. Hey, she could always go back, be a queen again. Or find a time in the future to over throw and be a queen once more. Over throughing a kingdom was always fun, and it was definitely within her limits to do so. One should never underestimate a woman with her kind of passion. She did kind of miss those days, though. And the attention she had got from both Ceasar and Antony, oh how it had been delightful. Such a shame they're both dead now...
"You're just jealous that i was a famous queen while you ended up fighting lions for the emperor's pleasure," she huffed, feeling a tad bit defensive. "Besides, it wasn't like you were going to use it, were you? Even if you were, I'm sure the heat'll be back in the water by the time we finish breakfast."
Rayne shook her head. "Bit early to be drinking, don't you think bro? On that note though, a bit of orange juice with rum sounds good but i really should stop drinking so much... decisions, decisions." She tapped her nails on the counter in contemplation. "Nah, i'll start with a bit of coffee, give my system a jolt after... this morning. With a splash of rum in it for good measure." She nodded her head at herself. Yeah, thought sounded splendid. Though way to stop drinking so much. As if the caffeine in the coffee would counteract the alcohol in the rum.
"You're kidding, they really haven't? They've missed quite an opportunity. I doubt they will if they haven't at this point. A shame, though. It was pretty fun being on Iceland's side," she said, leaning across the table to pick up a piece if fruit. "You know, it this stuff is extinct, we could always replant it. Let it grow again."

He rolled his eyes at her comment. Yes he was a gladiator while she was a Queen. Of course she'd also burned down Rome to save him while he became the most notorious serial killer to save her. So they were both far from innocent.
"Hey, one, they were Tigers not lions. Well Tigers and one really confused Grizzly Bear. But need I remind you that in the future I'm also a King. My rule is absolute. But unlike you I don't hold onto that memory."
He laughed a bit as he looked down at the glass of rum. He shrugged and took a sip before going back to his journal. He laughed a bit as she mentioned she should stop drinking. He hated that idea. The concept of no longer drinking was almost terrifying. It was really the only way he could properly cope with things he'd done and will do. He didn't like the idea of going sober, even though he knew he should.
"Well I would quit drinking but I'm terrified the cumulative hangover would kill me."
He said as he poured her some coffee with a 'splash' of rum in it. Of course his 'splash' was more like a shot. But they'd grown up with rum all around them like water. To him it was really nothing.
"You know we can't replant them, that'd be interfering. Interfering is strictly forbidden."
He said with a light laugh. Of course that was arrogant and a complete lie. They both interfered constantly, him especially. Hell he'd fathered he didn't know how many children. For all he knew he was working with some of his descendants today, assuming he wasn't his own descendant.
"Now eat up, you'll need your strength to heal from being a witch. Being a witch is exhausting. All that running and being tied to a post and escaping being burned alive. Sleep with three priests' wives and suddenly it's witch this and demon that."

"Lions, tigers, bears, all the same thing in the end. Just dead vicious animals!" she said jokingly as she tossed the piece of fruit up in the air and catching it again. She honestly did wonder, though, how hard it would be to become a queen again. She was pretty sure that, if she really tried, she could usurp her own brother. But she would never want to do such a thing "That's because you don't have much of a memory to hold onto, Jack, not as a king at least." She pointed at him with the fruit before placing it down beside a plate and picking through all the food that was made.
"The day you sto drinking, clearly you need to be brought to the greasiest restaurant in the known universes. Help with that hangover before it kills ya." She picked up a piece of bacon and, rather than stacking it on her plate, she bite into it, savoring the taste a moment. There was nothing better than bacon, especially not after nearly getting burned. This was amazing. "Who knows, Ol, you might actually like being sober," she teased.
When she thought her plate was full enough, she brought back over to where her piece of fruit lay. She would rather stand and eat than sit at a table. The words her brother said, she barely comprehended. Mainly because it was probably the most pompous piece of bull she had ever heard him say. "Are you seriously talking to me about interfering?" That was laughable, coming from him. It really was. "If we didn't interfere, there would be no 'Future King' or Cleopatra. No Jack the Ripper or the Great Fire. Or, at the very least, they probably would have been postponed. Besides, who even made up that silly 'do not interfere' rule? Too much Doctor Who?" she teased. "What harm could there really be in replanting one of these?" she held up her piece of fruit, slowly turning it. "It's not going to bring about Ragnorak or the Zombie Apocalypse, now is it? Just sayin'." She took a bite from it and licked her lips. "The rest of the world is missing out."
Rayne didn't argue with being told to eat up. It was actually the only thing to shut her up for a few moments. She had known she was hungry but she hadn't really realized just how hungry and it wasn't long before she went back to picking through what was made to put just a little more on her plate. "See, that's the thing though. I didn't sleep with their wives, or even their daughters. I think someone saw me come out of a portal. Or check my watch. Probably not my smartest idea when i think.of it... but still! They went super overboard there."

He rolled his eyes as she brought up the whole Jack the Ripper thing. He decided NOT to point out that he was Jack the Ripper to save her. That wasn't exactly Plan A when she was kidnapped by that crazed stable. He'd tried talking them down and even trying to make a deal. They'd refused so he decided to brutally murder them one by one until they let her go. He would do the same thing again given the opportunity.
"You only say that because so far my only legacy is a mass murderer, political assassin, criminal and rebel. Aside from the murderer thing it's not a terrible legacy. I mean I've got actors dreaming to play me."
Ok, so maybe actors weren't exactly DREAMING to play Marcus Brutus or anyone else he'd been but he liked them. He and his sister had popped up in history books continuously. He couldn't help but wonder what other roles they'd played, but simply haven't gotten to them yet. He often felt he might've been Constantine, but later on.
"Ok, fine, you're right. I just figured interfering was dangerous. But then again nothing too bad has happened. Well aside from confusion but we knew that was likely to happen going in. However though there is the butterfly effect rule. I mean we've never really seen anything through long enough to see any direct results. I mean for all we know we caused the American Revolution or the formation of SHIELD. So maybe planting fruit could bring along a catastrophic plague or something."
He said with a shrug. Sure he never thought twice before sleeping with someone from another time. But anything else could prove dangerous. Sure even though he might've fathered who knows how many children, but he never saw that as a negative.
"Of course the Puritans went overboard, it's kinda what they do. But onto another subject..."
He said before taking a bite of some bacon.
"What's this I hear about you hanging out with T'Shan?"

Of course, Rayne knew the whole Jack the Ripper thing was pretty much her fault. But hey, that was a minor detail. The twins went to pretty drastic neasures to save each other. And, if she was to be quite honest, she would have probably done something similar if the roles had been reversed. Given the choice between a regular person's life and her own brother's, her brother would always win, no matter who she had to kill or torture to save him. Even if it was someone else she loved. She knew she could eventually live without them. Living without Olivier was a very different story however.
"Hey, there is definitely so much more to my saying that than, well, that!" she stuck her tongue out at him, a 'nyan' sound escaping her before she brought more bacon to her mouth. Mm mmm, bacon. She loved it more than anything. It was even better than the fruit. Although she was going to have to go and get more of this fruit for her own apartments. She wondered what kind of breads or desserts she could make out of it. "Besides, there's been more movies made about me as Cleo alone than there have been about you brother," she mused.
What Olly said made some small bit of sense, she had to admit. However, she would never openly admit it. "But see, if we had been the ones to be responsible for those things, is that actually a bad thing? Besides, even it planting some fruit does cause a plague, who's to say that it wasn't going to happen sooner?" She paused. "Or we can just plant them in a parallel universe that doesn't quite matter, see what kind of effect it has on things. Just a thought."
'Damned Puritans,' she thought, sipping her rummed up coffee. However, she almost choked on it when he started to speak. May, that big blabber mouth! Did she tell Olly? Or had Olly spied on her? Wait... had she been thinking about it? N'awww, she didn't think she had been. "So what if I have? He's a real sweetie. And hot. And a god!" An almost dreamy sigh escaped her. "What's so bad about that? Besiiiides, i made friends with him and his cute little birdie!"

He brushed off her comment about being Cleopatra. He didn't exactly find that aspect impressive. Then again he never found Cleopatra impressive. Of course knowing that she was a former Queen made her extremely annoying. Well more annoying than she already was. Sure he loved his sister but he sometimes went from wanting to hug her to choke her. Not enough to kill her of course, just get it out of his system. Sure he had a tendency for violence, he was Jack the Ripper after all.
"Pssh, I'll take From Hell over that Elizabeth Taylor movie any day, no contest."
He said with a light laugh. Her idea of planting the fruit in an alternate universe wasn't a terrible idea. They'd definitely need to do some experimentation and check it out. But they'd get back to that later. Right now he had to deal with a certain Asgardian spending time with his sister. That was far more important than an apocalypse inducing fruit.
"You know damn well what my issue with him is. Technically he's a Demi-god, but that's splitting hairs. Either way I know guys like him, because I am a guy like him. Every morning I'm in the Avengers Mansion there's another woman leaving his room. And don't get me started on his bird, rude arrogant bird."
He said shaking his head. He and Skugga rarely got along. Then again from what he'd noticed Skugga rarely got along with anyone, he was always being rude to someone.
"SOmeone like him doesn't 'just make friends'. Not to mention speaking as your genius brother, I think you can do a lot better."

Rayne couldn't quite read the look in his eyes. But she didn't need to. She had this neat little tether that connected the two. And that meant she could usually pick up on his thoughts, sometimes even feelings. Aww, had she annoyed him? That was cute! She giggled at him, practically hiding her smile with her cup. 'It's sweet, you care enough to just maim me and not kill me. But let's not forget that, despite how much we may annoy each other, we might not be able to live without the other,' she thought. Not necessarily at him or anything.
She rolled her eyes at the 'From Hell' comment and didn't even bother with retorting. Nope, she didn't care that much. She knew in her heart if hearts that she was the one with the real point. However, as he moved onto T'Shan, she kind of wished she had continued on with Cleopatra. "Ugh," she made sure that that noise was loud and her eye roll was obvious. "Here we go..."
She listened, already annoyed with his argument with his first few words. She tapped her fingers on the counter, pushing her mostly empty plate aside. "Oh please, this isn't about how many girls have seen his 'hammer' and you know it. You always do this no matter who it is. From that sailor on our ship to Marc Antony and now to frakkin' T'Shan," she started, staring pointedly at him. "You can't always tell me what guys are right or wrong for me. I'm my own girl in charge of my own body. And if i want to spend some quality time with a man like him, i can. Besides, despite what closed-minded people believe, it is possible to be friends with men like him."
She downed her coffee and stood to fill the class with the rum now. Yep, might as well. Who knew, might make it easier to listen to this line of bullshit. "And don't you talk about Skugga like that! That pretty bird has great taste! It's not my fault if he doesn't like ya!" She almost snorted, taking a large drink from her cup. "Oh that's right, you know what's best for me, right?" she tilted her head at him, hopping up onto the counter so she could sit and dangle her legs. She couldn't help but wince at the shot of pain up her side, though. "Oh wait, is this because you've still got it stuck in your head that me and JJ were meant to be together, my destiny or some shit like that? Why him and not T'shan? Hmmm? What's the big difference, really? Because, unless you've forgotten, JJ is 'one of those kind of men' as well." It was annoying how he tried to micromanage her love life. She hated it and if it weren't for the fact that she probably wasn't strong enough to port too well, she would have been gone. But no, she had to stay here. Besides, if she left now, the argument would just follow her later.

The fight was off and running. It was a serious argument they always had and he knew it likely wouldn't change. Well he hoped it would change and one day she would agree he was right. But of course he couldn't point out WHY he felt that way. Sure she would believe him, he knew that wasn't an issue. In their lives the scenario surrounding Barby Grayson wasn't exactly odd. But the idea of simply outing everything when she might not be ready and JJ really wasn't, wouldn't do, well not yet. That was always the Ace in his sleeve however.
"Oh I never said YOU couldn't be friends with him. That's completely believable. The idea of him just wanting to be friends is what I don't believe. I don't like the idea of someone simply using my sister. I mean sure trying to kick his a** to defend your honor would be tricky but it'd be worth a shot."
He said with a light laugh. He knew that trying to fight an Asgardian wouldn't prove easy, but he'd manage somehow. Of course she then went right to the point something that he knew was coming sooner or later. He simply didn't expect it so quickly though.
"That's only part of it. I never understood why you ended it with him. Especially since the guy straight up loves you. I mean sure he can be a bit clingy at times but to just cut him loose after a week or two, or however long you two dated was harsh. I mean if you were looking for a fling be honest about it up front. But yeah, he does date a lot, and never long. I've been looking into him."
He said finishing his coffee, and like her, going straight to rum.
"Is it so wrong to hope my adorable little sister finds a great guy and settles down? Personally I think JJ is that guy, but that's me. I have my reasons for rooting for him. Everyone loves an underdog after all."

Damn right it was believable. It better have been, at least. Rayne was the type to make friends, or attempt to, with anyone who had looks that could kill. Sure, she denies that it's a requirement but, looking at her track record, it seemed pretty likely. What did she care if he wanted to be more than just friends? T'shan was a catch, even if he was a catch that she would likely hurt if anything serious developed. It was a thing for her. And a fear at that, it seemed. Besides, what was so bad with having friends like him, huh? She just didn't understand!
"Oh blah blah blah, you're just full of useless words," she grumbled, taking another swig from her rum. Gods he was just being difficult! Although she had to say, seeing Olly try and fight T'Shan would be pretty amusing. Ol wouldn't stand a chance. "You act like it's not possible for T'Shan to make friends with someone like me! You think i can't take care of myself around someone like him? And who's to say he's not the one being used, huh?"
That word made her wince. Love. Honestly, she wasn't sure that anyone should love her. Not with a hectic life like hers. Hell, she almost gagged at the word at that. Bleh, love. The only love she needed was the love of her family. "You don't understand what you're talking about Olly and i suggest you stop while you're ahead," she growled, glaring at him. She hadn't known what she'd been looking for but what she knew was that she wasn't what he was looking for, no matter how much he might believe it. She wasn't right for him and she knew that. Just like she knew that a serious relationship just wasn't for her.
Her fingers curled around the edge of the counter, nails digging into it as best she could. "Little? Might i remind you that we're fuckin' twins? And I'm not that much shorter than you!" It was a silly thing to piss her off, but it did. Although it was likely just misplaced anger.
"Why? Why him if all people? Why John? Hmm? You say you have your reasons but you never tell me! Maybe i have my reasons why i broke it off, personal reasons. You ever think of that?"
