"I smoke 'em when I'm stressed, or drinking a lot. Or when I take a solid blow like that one. Either way they help dull the pain. And no, I'm not offering."
She knew she shouldn't smoke so much. Sure it wouldn't hurt her by any means, but it did leave an additional scent on her. But then again so did a lot of the ink in her skin and piercings. Of course that was something she didn't like to think about. So instead she just shoved those thoughts down with everything else she did and moving on. She smiled as he mentioned caring about her. She nodded her head in response.
"That reason right there is why I did it with me. You need to care about who you're protecting to really make it work."
She said with a smile. She made her way over to her bag and began digging for something. She listened to him, just simply not looking.
"Well my skeleton is nearly indestructible, organs aren't. I can be killed but it's not easy. I suppose it all depends on your definition of indestructible. But yeah, my base line skeleton was like yours. It's a trait among our species and our family."
She said with a shrug before turning around, phone in hand. She held the cigar in her mouth and smiled.
"Be honored. In our family 'Pup' is a term of endearment for younger members. Primarily the ones still learning."
She said holding out the phone to him.
"It's a special phone I had some friends of mine make. Pretty much just like any smart phone. But this small hidden panel on the side has a red button. Press that and it will alert me as to where you are, anywhere in the world, and vice versa."

"So from the sound of it you smoke them a lot," Edward commented in a deadpan manner, still looking at the cigar, "And you're sure I can't have any?" He noticed the smile, but pretended like he didn't care. The next comment, however, made his eyes narrow. "Then get me a really really hot hologram next time," He suggested. He wasn't serious, but he wasn't showing it "I'll care about that as well." He just didn't want to see the one member of his family he spoke to, even if he barely knew her, getting speared on a wrecking ball. It wasn't much to ask.
He watched as she walked over to her bag, listening to the tactical appraisal of her skeleton. "So all someone needs to do is stab you in an organ or hit you really hard?" He asked. Still, his plan of hitting May stayed firmly out of his mind. From the sound of it, he'd break his own fist just trying. "So all our family and the others....like us, have this skeleton?" He thought back to his first fight, "Is that why Sabretooth is such a son of a bitch?" He was still hurting, if not physically, then pride-wise, after that fight. He didn't like losing, and he didn't like being made to lose.
He frowned slightly as she had a phone in her hand as she turned around, but then focussed on her cigar again. "It sounds like something you'd call a twelve year old," He commented, "Not like an honour." As she spoke, he looked down at the phone again. So from the sound of it, she was giving him a tracking chip. "Why do I need a panic button?" he asked, "I'm not planning on getting in trouble in Peru or anything." He took the phone anyway and pocketed it, "But thanks. I broke my phone a few days ago. I uh...fell out a window. I need a new one." He just hoped May couldn't track him with it when he didn't hit the button.

"Well if you stabbed me in an organ I'd eventually heal just like you would. However I'm assuming if you can destroy enough organs I'm sure it'd render me dead, or at least comatose. As for hitting me hard, well it'd take more than that. People who have broken adamantium are the likes of Thor, Hulk, Superman. Although apparently Thor made it look easy from what I hear which is mildly concerning."
She said with a laugh and a shrug. She didn't like thinking about just who could kill her. Of course she was prepared to fight to the death if necessary, but she was a realist who had mild issues with depression. So she knew if she went up against either of those three then she knew they'd have an easier time killing her than her killing them. But at the same time she would fight until the last breath passed her lips.
"Trust me Pup, in our family it's an honor. My mom was Pup, Akihiro would've been Pup and I was Pup. If you hate the name so much then fight and train to get me to change it. Anytime you feel like you're done with being called Pup then we can settle this one on one, and I literally mean anytime."
She actually sort of looked forward to that kind of challenge. Forcing him to pick the right time and right scenario to attack her. First logic would be while she was sleeping or after training. But either way it'd be fun so she was looking forward to the challenge.
"You need a panic button because your father pissed off a lot of people. Some of them might see killing Wolverine Jr. as the best option at the moment. And don't break this one. Sure it's tough and all but it's not indestructible."
She said with a laugh as the large doors slid open. She threw her bag on her shoulder with a smile.
"Besides, our family never plans on getting into trouble, it just finds us."

"I wondered about organs," Edward commented, "As I'm pretty sure I can...reattach things if I have to, but I didn't know if I could heal things like that." It made sense, as long as it wasn't something like his heart or his brain. "And so neither of us should get into fights with aliens or god, I think I can manage that one." Edward didn't particularly like thinking about what could kill him either. Until today, the only things that had been able to beat him in fights had been groups of fully-grown men. Now, he was being told about all these other things that can and had kicked the crap out of him. Overall, it was somewhat disconcerting. Not to mention he was having this whole conversation with somebody who could definitely beat the tar out of him if she chose.
"You were Pup?" He asked with a snort, and then he nodded at her challenge. "I'll bear that in mind." He wasn't exactly the best at planning things, but he figured it'd be best to wait until she was distracted before he tried. He didn't think she'd seriously hurt him, but it'd still be best not to tempt fate. "Do I need to fight you before you stop calling me Pup? Or will you stop eventually?" He did sound slightly annoyed, purely because Pup was an annoying nickname.
He pulled the phone out of his pocket and slid open the panel, looking at the button. "Does anybody actually know I'm Wolverine Jr?" He asked, "I mean, it's not like I'm...famous, or like I live with him or anything." So far the only people in New York who knew who he was were the students and staff at the school, possibly a group of dead vampires, and one monster hunter. And he wasn't planning on making too much of a name for himself. As the doors slid open, he looked down at himself, at the bloodstained, torn and ruined clothes. He was going to look a right state walking back to his room. "So when are we doing this again?" He asked, "Ideally sometime after the bruising fades." He wasn't too sure he'd be as willing to show up the next time. He didn't like to voluntarily walk to getting the shit beaten out of him. "And don't worry, if I find myself in trouble, I'll make sure you know." He paused, "If I can't handle it."

"Oh, we'll end up fighting aliens and gods, likely initiating the fight. It's sort of the family thing. We start fights and if we can't finish it, we'll try and finish it later."
She said with a laugh. She knew the family tended to pick fights, it was fun. Hell she herself would always pick a fight with anyone to assert her dominance. Especially now that she's a squad leader. She gets challenged on a regular basis and always leaves them on their backs in heaps with a pool of blood. Sometimes it's quick and sometimes not, but she always wins.
"Yup, I was Pup for awhile. Hated it, hated it with a passion. But I proved myself and eventually I was called May. Well some went with May Day and there are a few other nicknames that if you call me I'll end you so fast it'll be terrifying. But yeah, eventually I'll stop. Beat me in a fight and it stops sooner, simple."
She said with a shrug. She felt bad he had no real idea exactly what he was getting into family wise. But eventually he'll learn exactly what the family dealt with. She was trying to ease him into it, but he'd learn sooner or later. She just hoped she trained him enough to not be killed.
"Your scent. We all have a similar scent. Someone tries to track down Grandpa Logan and stumbles upon you. Remember, if that happens, run. Call me, I'll try to get to you. I got the skeleton I can take more damage than you."
She said, honestly. She didn't like the idea of him in danger. She was the matriarch of this family and she didn't like to let him go alone with no safety. He was her uncle she was almost seeing like a little brother, not even cousin. All she knew was that anyone who dared lift a finger to him would be killed, mercilessly. She made her way into the hallway and heading towards the locker room.
"The next session will be a surprise. It'll either be when I come to get you, or two days from now at 6, which ever comes first. Be late and it gets worse."
She said before disappearing into the women's locker room.

Edward sighed, his eyebrows raised. "I would have thought it'd surprise me that my family picked fights with gods," He commented, "But it sounds like something I'd do if I was pissed off." He'd picked stupid fights before. Fights he shouldn't have been able to win, or fights against people he really shouldn't win against. He wasn't sure he'd go for a god unless he was really angry, but he could definitely imagine May doing it.
"I'll bear that in mind," He commented, thinking about how he could possibly beat May. Even if she didn't have the metal skeleton, she still had more training than him, far more experience than him, probably a higher pain tolerance, and was probably stronger. She definitely looked stronger. The only possible advantages he had were that he was possibly faster, seeing as he wasn't weighed down by his skeleton, and that he doubted she'd seriously hurt him. Well, he hoped. She probably would, if it came down to it.
As she turned away to go to the locker room, Edward also turned to head out the door. Sure, parts of his clothed were slashed and torn, and they were soaked in blood and overall pretty ghastly, but it wasn't like he'd brought anything to change into, and even if he'd taken them off, it wouldn't change the fact that he was somewhat slashed and torn and bloody. It wasn't a pleasant trip back to his room, that was for sure. He didn't pass anyone, thank god. Chances are, the other teachers had a good idea that his...he didn't feel like niece was the right word for it, had been having him slashed to ribbons, but he doubted other students knew that.
His thought had him wondering, what were him and May? As he definitely didn't feel like an uncle. It didn't help that she was about eight years his senior, but he imagined much of their family was much like that. But even without the age difference, he couldn't deny that it clearly wasn't an uncle/niece relationship. If anything, he felt like a little brother, as much as that made him gnash his teeth, and May had made it clear she was in charge. Sure, May was a bitch who had put him through one of the most painful hours of his life, but she at least made him feel like she cared about him, and that was something. And he had to be honest, he'd probably have told her to fuck off a lot more if he didn't feel like he cared about her as well.
((OOC: Yeah I don't mind continuing if you want to. Guessing it would be their next training session?))

May changed and spent the next day getting her tattoos retouched. Then she spent the next morning on a mission with the Squad. She'd only recently got back from a basic mission and was still feeling the adrenaline from it. It was about 6 in the morning and she figured now was a perfect time for Edward's next mission. Sure she'd told him 6 that night, but she'd also said that she might come and get him at any time. She liked the idea of keeping him on his toes, and it helped with his training. She was wearing a pair of black skinny jeans, combat boots and a black tank top with a red spider web design on it. She walked through the halls and nodded to a few faculty members and a few students up early. She stopped at Edward's door and gave it a firm kick that knocked it off its hinges and sent it cartwheeling into the room.
"Wake up Pup! Time for some training! I want you outside in 10 minutes. If I have to come back and get you it won't end well."
She said before turning and walking back down the hall. She'd contemplated using the Danger Room, but decided against it. Primarily because she liked the sunrise and it was nice and cold, but not too cold. Either way he'd need to learn to deal with the environment. Dealing with that is key to anything and in any scenario. She slid down the banister and made her way to the outdoor training area. She grabbed her tablet and began to set up the entire area for a fight. It would be good, a nice solid training session for him. She glanced at her watch.
"3 minutes Pup, c'mon."

One thing Edward didn't do well was waking up in the mornings. Something he was sure May had noticed on his record of the school so far was that he was often late to lessons in the morning. It was strange, seeing as he could be woken up easily due to his hearing, but he had a bad habit of falling straight back to sleep afterwards. Even so, something like his door being kicked in was bound to wake him up, and he sat up quickly, his heart pounding and his claws threatening to make an appearance. "What the hell?" He asked angrily, pulling his duvet up to cover his bare torso from May, but she was already walking out of the room. "I have classes today!" He almost contemplated going back to sleep, but he figured May would drag him out by his hair and make him train anyway, whether he was in his boxers or not.
He got as far as half-pulling on a pair of tracksuit bottoms before his brain decided it wanted to go back to sleep, and he spent the next few minutes sitting wearily on the bed, trying to motivate himself to finish. It was only when he heard May's reminder, seemingly from a way away, that he was motivated enough to roll out of bed, quite literally. As he hit the floor, he thought that he was definitely not a morning person. "Give me a minute!" He practically roared back, May having annoyed him, and his anger overcoming his common sense, not for the first time. He wondered what the people with rooms near his would think about all the noise, but hopefully they'd either not ask or not care. He didn't want to explain that he was related to the teacher with an almost psychopathic dedication to training him.
It took him maybe another minute to pull himself to his feet and finish pulling his tracksuit bottoms on, and then he rooted around on his floor for a shirt. His room wasn't the tidiest. Rather, it was a total tip. Room tidying was another thing he didn't do too often or too well. It took him a while to find a shirt that was clean, as his drawers were empty, and as he was holding it up, it definitely occurred to him that it'd been longer than three minutes.

May was getting sick of waiting and quickly climbed up the side of the building. She knocked on his window and shook her head just as he was going towards the door.
"Remember, I warned you."
She said before doing a backflip off the wall and landing back in the yard. She began to pace back and forth, typing on her tablet. A sly smirk spread across her lips as she noticed some of the machines popping out of the ground. May checked each one to ensure it was ready. She didn't want him killed, but of he got hurt, then so be it. She'd been forced to wait after warning him. If he thought this was bad just wait till the 2 AM training sessions. She remembered those vividly, and they were terrible. But being on this end of them could be almost fun. Well probably more than fun. She was enjoying seeing him miserable and knew eventually he'd get used to it. She knew she still was, and hated it.
She looked up and noticed a few people looking out their windows and laughing. A few others, out for morning jogs or just up early were definitely keeping an eye on this. It'd been awhile since there had been an official Howlett family training session. This was certainly going to be an epic one. Sure maybe not as extreme as she'd want. However if he kept her waiting any longer she'd be kicking his a** up and down this yard until she got bored with it.

Edward was tempted to flip her off as she knocked on the window, but that wouldn't help his case. So he finished pulling his shirt on and started for the door again, but then he realised that in the time it'd take for him to get downstairs and out, she'd have found something to get even more pissy about. So instead he opened his window and hopped out, climbing down the side of the building. He wasn't nearly as graceful as she was, but he got the job done and didn't embarrass himself. It wasn't like he spent all that much time climbing buildings. As he dropped to the floor, he looked around, not entirely sure what they were doing here. "What's the plan for today?" He asked, his voice only faintly sarcastic. At least there were no bloody holograms this time, "And why are we out here?"
As he looked around, he realised there were people sitting by their windows and laughing. Well, he could guess what they were wanting to watch: him getting an asskicking. He almost raised two middle fingers to them, but then he remembered that didn't mean anything to Americans and instead walked towards May with a middle finger facing the window: the international sign for "fuck you". "Didn't realise we were going to have an audience," He said with a faint growl in his voice as he dropped the middle finger. He knew that there was at least some small part of May which was enjoying embarrassing and hurting him. And if he was honest, probably not that small a part. Well, he'd just have to not screw up and humiliate himself in front of the people watching. Which was presumably just what May was going for. He was tempted to pick a few more choice people to swear at, but instead he kept his eyes focussed on May and tried to ignore them. "You know I've got classes today, yeah?" He asked. For all her faults as a...guardian, Edward guessed, May did at least seem interested in his schoolwork, and maybe she wouldn't want to disrupt that. But then again, she didn't seem like the most responsible guardian.

"The plan for today is simple Pup, go from Point A to point B as fast as possible. This, is defense."
She said pointing at a sidewalk. She went back to typing on the tablet and machines began to pop up along the walk way. Each one spun slowly before zooming in on Edward and a green light came on as they stayed centered. They were focusing on his every movement and waiting for the trigger to activate.
"These machines will fire at you. Not bullets, something you can survive and will be prone to your claws. Spiked wooden balls to be precise. They'll hurt like hell, but won't do too much. I give you my word, no tricks. No Sabretooth, no me, the balls aren't soaked in Heat Pills infused water or anything. Just a simple ball. Go point A to to B and you're done."
She said before sitting down on a bench and typing a few more things. She looked up at him and smiled brightly. She got the feeling he didn't trust or believe her, which was fine with her. Howlett's didn't trust anyone except those who'd proved it. All May had done, aside from busting him out, was put him through torture. However May trusted him and just wanted to take care of him. She knew it was risky, but she enjoyed risks.
"Well if you're so concerned about the audience, then give them something worth watching. Show them how Howlett's do things like this. Plus there are girls watching, well and guys. Whichever you prefer Pup."
She heard his comment regarding his classes and rolled her eyes. Classes, pssh, he was smart enough that he could miss one class.
"Well do it quickly and you won't be worrying about missing any classes now will you. So chop chop Pup. We start in 3...2....and go!"
The machines whirred and spun a bit before the first two began to fire spiked balls at him. Their firing rate was consistent, 3 seconds in between. The machines simply alternated firing.

Yeah, simple. That just meant May wasn't going to great lengths to hurt him. She wasn't going to be complicated with how he was hurt. Although at least it meant no holograms. He was about to ask what the catch was when machines popped up and began training on him. Well, he recognised turrets. He cursed fairly violently, but they weren't actually shooting at him yet. Probably waiting for him to move or something. He only had to cover a hundred metres or so. Not far. He knew from experience he could do that in maybe seven seconds if he gunned it. But getting up speed was an issue, especially with things shooting at him. He wasn't going to be able to run full pelt anyway if he was having to protect himself from spiked balls. "Because firing bullets would be irresponsible?" He asked sarcastically. He'd never tested it, but he felt like his bones could take a bullet. Not that he ever wanted to test it. "And I'm not too sure I believe you." Sure, it sounded hellish, but it sounded too straightforward. Was it really just a dash with a threat?
"Couldn't I just tell the audience to fuck off?" He suggested testily as he rocked his weight onto the balls of his feet. He wasn't going to disgrace himself in front of his classmates. He felt his cheeks warming slightly as May mentioned girls or guys watching, and he had to admit, the thought of a hot guy, or worse, a hot girl laughing at him made his face heat for a whole other reason. As he stood, he clenched his fists and his claws slid out from between his fingers, making his eyes water briefly. "Great, I can just go to class with a hole in me," He said, the sarcasm in his voice palpable. Then she gave him the signal to go, and the first of the turrets fired. They were definitely tracking him as he moved, but the first projectile was behind him as he ran. But there were more, firing constantly, and they were definitely getting closer as they traced him. And worse, he was moving slower in anticipation of needing his wits about him.
He'd covered maybe a quarter of the distance in a few seconds, but then he heard something whistling towards him from the side, and he turned to slash it out of the air. His claws knocked it to one side, but now that he'd turned to face the turrets, his speed had dropped, and others were moving towards him. He slashed another couple out of the air, and while he was moving faster than the average jog, the finish seemed to still be far away. He continued to deflect the ones that came close, but then he felt a piercing pain in his knee, and he cried out in pain and stumbled. Another hit him in the chest, and he cried out again, almost falling.
He could hear laughter from the school, and that is what spurred him to keep his feet. He started moving again, his knee protesting with every step, especially as the spikes stopped it from healing. As he'd slowed, even for just a second, others were catching up to him, and he groaned as he knocked them aside. He was close to the finish line...so close. He felt a piercing pain as another ball slipped through his guard, but then his feet were over the finish line and he turned, his claws retracting and his middle fingers extending towards the school as he all but crashed over point B, falling to his knees, still flipping off everyone watching.

"Of course the bullets would be irresponsible."
She said with a smile. She was accepting of his snark and hardly even phased. Primarily because it was no different than the snark she gave when she was his age, if not younger. Hell it was similar to the snark she STILL gave.
"One of them could hit someone innocent. Someone who can't heal in a minute or so. I mean sure if you get shot it'll suck, but you'll be fine eventually. Dealing with being shot comes much later down the line."
She said with a dismissive wave of the hand. She smiled though when he admitted to not believing her. It was a smart move since she'd flat out told him she'd likely lie. He should never trust anyone. But at the same time he respected authority, as was the Howlett way. They were soldiers, they just weren't always so certain about their orders. Either way they did what had to be done. They did what people didn't always want to do making them useful and dangerous.
"You could tell them to, but then rumors might start spreading about you being scared. Now if you are, that's on you but Howlett's don't do fear. Besides, any holes would likely be healed by time you went to class. Now hurry up or they'll begin firing before you start."
She said backing up slightly as she began typing on her tablet. When he took off running she smirked. Not too terrible actually. But he was trying to over think everything. Which was mainly proven when the balls began making contact. She watched him stagger slightly but still continue. The middle finger claw at the end was cute and when he crossed the line she disabled them. She slowly strolled down the walkway, stepping over any spiked balls that lay there. Towards the end she noticed the blood trail and leaned over him.
"Not bad. Gave me quite a few things to work on in the future. Yeah, definitely a lot of ideas for future training sessions. Plus the middle claw was adorable."
She took hold of one spiked ball and pulled it out, throwing it to the ground.
"You'll heal faster if you take those out Pup. I mean sure eventually your muscles and skin will push them out, but that takes longer and is definitely not ideal."

Edward rolled his eyes at the comment that bullets could hurt someone else. But then again, he hadn't really been expecting May to think shooting him was a bad thing to do or anything. It wasn't like she'd already thrown him into unwinnable fights or anything before. Oh wait. But then her last words caught his attention. "Wait, what?" He asked, "Later down the line?" Getting shot was definitely not something he fancied doing. Although May didn't exactly seem to care what he fancied doing or not.
He'd been aware of her watching his progress along the course, but he hadn't attempted to guess what she was thinking. He had no idea if she thought he was doing well, if she thought he'd fucked up repeatedly, or anything. All he knew was that he'd made it, and that he was bleeding. He wrinkled his nose as it picked up the trail of the stuff he'd left while running. His own blood was a smell he'd never quite grown accustomed to. He realised May was speaking and looked up. "Not bad?" He almost growled, "I ran a hundred metres while being shot at!" He hadn't been expecting gushing praise, but he was still pissed off that it was being dismissed as "not bad". Plus being called adorable was never a good thing in his eyes. He retracted the last claws, and then flipped off the school one last time.
"Mind telling me what I gave you to work on?" He asked. It was probably going to end up being some torturous exercise where he got pelted with spiked balls to teach him not to get hit by them, or something. "Future training sessions? Does that mean this one is do-" He broke off to gasp in pain as May pulled the spiked ball out of his chest. Turned out that sort of thing hurt. Blood leaked from the hole it had left, but he could feel it closing up already. He pulled the one in his arm out, causing blood to bubble there as well, and then gritted his teeth as he assessed the one in his knee. Well, the spikes had caught the joint, which meant this was going to hurt. He grabbed the ball under two of the spikes and tried to yank it out quickly, biting his lip hard enough to make it bleed. As he threw the last one aside, his said a few choice swear words under his breath with his eyes locked on May. "Does it matter if I liked this shirt?" He asked, rolling his eyes. As soon as the wounds had finished closing, he got to his feet.

She smirked at his reaction to her's. Sure he was angry, but it was accurate. He'd wanted more praise for his job and she wasn't going to give it. Although that was fine with her, that wasn't her job. She wasn't here to kiss his boo boos and pat him on the head. She was preparing him for a war he'd been born into.
"Well technically it was a hundred yards, not using the metric system. But yeah, not bad. You fought through the pain and made it to the end in a...respectable time. Now quit your b*tching and get up. The more whining you do the worse you look."
As he asked about what else he'd have to work on she smiled. It was pretty straight forward and an honest question. That way he could prepare for what was coming, or try to. Not a terrible idea in grand scheme. However she wouldn't tell him exactly what to prepare for. Not all of his training sessions would be so simple.
"The two big things are pain tolerance and learning to harness and trust your senses. Don't worry, most of that involves meditation."
She said as she watched him pull the spiked balls out. She looked down as he healed and crossed her arms. She wished he'd get up and deal with it instead of whining. If he thought this hurt it'd get even worse later on. Especially when all was said and done. But eventually he'd deal with it and they'd be a stronger family. Or he'd kill her in her sleep, either or. She was personally hoping for the first one, for obvious reasons.
"Why would you wear a shirt you liked to a training session with me."
She said before turning around walking back to the building.
"Now hurry up or you'll be late to class."
She said casually over her shoulder.

Little did he know the superhuman senses teacher had some personal issues and needed to deal with it. So they'd asked May to step in as she was one of the best they had, at the time, with enhanced senses. So May had her day filled with training young mutants with enhanced senses. May was sitting ON her desk, when the students began to walk in. She was wearing a pair of jean shorts, an Inuyasha T-shirt and combat boots. In her laps was one of her psych books that she was going over. She reached up and undid her hair from the loose pony tail and let it fall. She whistled calmly as she trained her senses on the door.
"Take a seat and be quiet."
She said as the first one entered the room. She wanted to see how they'd react and if they'd listen. She knew that there would always be at least one or two who tried to test the new teacher. For all she knew it could be Eddie. She hoped for his sake it wasn't.
