Laurel honestly hated these days. The days she actually had to go to meetings and do a proper job as her brother's replacement. They had a name for her job in the company, something like Vice President, but she didn't really care for the labels. She had school to worry about, and her hero gig. Then there were the charity events, so many things that she needed to do that wasn't this boring 'sit around in an office, waiting for your meeting to get here'. But she didn't have much of an option. She had long since promised that she would sit in for Drake whenever he needed her to.
So here she was, sitting at her brother's dress with a name plate reading "Laurel Queen" on the edge rather than the usually "Drake Queen". She was in business attire, wearing a light beige blouse and a black pencil skirt. Well, it was kind of business-y, at least, and that was pretty much all that she figured actually mattered. She was boredly staring at her computer screen, flipping between files she needed to read up for her next meeting and a rousing game if minesweeper. Occasionally, her hand went to her glass to take a sip of seltzer water but that was about it.
The sudden buzz from the desk phone nearly made her jump. "Miss Queen, your two o'clock has arrived," the voice of her secretary, Annabeth, came from the small intercom. Laurel leaned forward to press the button before responding, "Very good. If you wouldn't mind, lead him back."
As she released the button, she sighed. Time to get down to business. She exited out of her game of minesweeper first and foremost before running a hand through her loose blonde curls. She was sure she looked good enough for this meeting of hers. Her red lips pulled up into a smile as she watched the door to the office open and the secretary gestured for her appointment to enter. As Annabeth left to head back to reception, Laurel stood, moving out from behind the desk to properly greet the man. "Good afternoon, Mister Wayne. It's always a pleasure to see you," she cooed. "May i get you anything to drink before we get started?"

Thomas had this meeting on the books for some time now and as he sat in his limo on the way to Queen Industries he couldn't help but look around and the much brighter Star City and sigh. He wasn't used to the daylight, even his office had tinted windows. However, as the COO of Wayne Enterprises and the head of Batman Inc., he had an image to uphold during the day and he could not do that but sitting in his office all day.
Still, when he heard that Mr. Queen would not be in he couldn't help but feel a bit annoyed. They'd had this meeting set months in advance and even if Drake did have other duties, the likes of which Thomas was most certainly aware, it didn't change the fact that something like this should be kept. However, on the flip side of that coin, he couldn't help but smirk when he thought of the fact that the meeting would be with Ms. Queen instead. Maybe it was her laid back attitude, maybe it was the fact that it wasn't Drake, hell maybe it was the fact that he found her quite attractive... Either way, he decided to keep the meeting on the books and as the limo pulled up he prepared himself for what was about to happen.
As he stepped out of the car the flashbulbs began to go off and the reporters tried to get past the guards as the bombardment of questions began to come. Thomas just simply ignored them, waved once or twice, and made his way inside where he was escorted to a bank of elevators and soon found himself on the top floor of the QI building. Almost as soon as he arrived he was ushered in to the room where he saw the lovely Laurel standing before him. "Ms. Queen, likewise. It is always a pleasure when I get to sit down with you. As for that drink, I think I'll take a scotch on the rocks. This is an informal meeting after all." With that, Thomas unbuttoned his suit jacket and moved to sit in front of the desk. However, until Laurel sat he would remain standing, like a proper gentleman.

I heard you had a voice like an angel Laurel was actually quite delighted that this was the only real meeting she had today, though that didn't change how much she hated this job from time to time. She kind of wished that Lawrence had actually stuck to his own deal and held this meeting himself but she supposed that she could understand that he had other business to attend to. Oh well, she would just have to get back at him for this. She tried to gesture for him to sit but it became quite obvious rather quickly that he was going to wait until she herself sat before he would. Oh well. She headed towards the small quasi-bar on the left side of the office to get him his drink. "Isn't it a bit early for scotch?" she teased. However, she got some ice out of the mini-fridge and tossed it into a glass before filling it with the golden liquid. She grabbed herself a water bottle from the fridge before heading back to the desk. She handed him his drink before she went to properly take her seat, setting her water bottle down to the side watching as she waited for him to seat himself. "Now, as informal a meeting as this might be, I am a little sketchy still on the details of why Lawrence wanted to see you. I understand it's regarding a joint venture between Wayne Enterprise and ourselves. If you wouldn't mind filling in the few blanks for me?" That was probably the only other reason that she didn't really like being forced to do these meetings. As much reading up on the files she did, she didn't always know all the ins and outs of certain business transactions, especially when her brother had seemingly neglected to completely fill her in. It made her seem unprofessional, didn't it? And she honestly hated that. "My brother sends his apologies for missing out on this meeting, by the way. He really wanted to be here but unforeseen businesses required his presence elsewhere."338 | @thomas | Sorry for the wait. The person that laurel was originally made for returned and, like, all of her muse was just kinda focused on that, she was being difficult. My apologies. ^^; Also, since someone is actually taking up her brother, his name has been changed to Lawrence xD JSYK. Also, I apologize for the post, the rest of them likely won't be so small. |
