New York. Really, he didn't know why he was so insistent on remaining here, something about the ruins (rapidly getting smaller now) spoke to him. The chaos of a city that stood at the brink and somehow pulled itself back, ever so slightly. Perhaps, even, it was the sheer volume of superhumans... enough that even a minor effort at subtlety rendered him mere background noise. Either way, Julius Savage had made his home here and from his penthouse, overlooking the city proper... he plotted.
Plotted what, you ask? What things run through an immortal's mind? The Long Con as some might dub it. The world would be his one day, but a foundation needed to be laid out. Slowly he got out of his chair and moved back to the window, gazing out across the city. On a table behind him a few tattered hard cover books were strewn carelessly about showing a number of images across them. One the almost ubiquitous recruitment poster of the war, the 'I want you!' poster emblazoned with Uncle Sam.
"Who needs a Captain America when you can find the truest expression of the country... and bend it to your will, hmm?" He asked himself aloud. A physical avatar for a country, a literal force of nature. He would enslave it to his will. He just needed to know how. How to do it, how to manipulate the essence of a society? He'd need to work with the politicians more than ever, to become the 'uncrowned king' of the nation. That thought brought a smirk to his lips as he reached up, stroking his chin.
"I believe, however, that all work and no play..." He trailed off, turning abruptly once more and departing from the room. Slipping into a private elevator to take himself directly to an underground garage. A king should acquaint himself with his territory, should he not? So why shouldn't 'Baron Savage' take a look around the city and see what... piqued his interests.

Here's to being human and taking it for granted The night before was but a flashing of images and jumbled up memories in Virginia's head that she couldn't quite piece together. It would be nice if she could, though, because she had a few questions. But on the top of that question list was why on earth had she woken up in what she could only assume was a run down warehouse. Although, to be honest, there were plenty of obvious signs: broken bottles, crushed cans, discarded... personal items, one could say, and an assortment of other things. Either this party had been a private one, or one she had decided to crash. There were a few others seemingly passed out on ground and, after she finally came to her senses, she checked herself in an almost worried fashion. Her body was aching, there were a few bruises on her body that she could find but it seemed that nothing had happened to her that she didn't want to happen. Thank goodness. She stood, slowly, a hand going straight to her head as she wobbled. Her next test was to check her pockets when she realized that the bluetooth earpiece that connected her 'wristwatch' to her ear was missing. Thankfully, it was easily found in the pockets of the ripped up jeans. Yuck, she looked like she must have gotten into a fight that night. She slipped it into her ear as the beaten down looking Stark headed out of the warehouse to find the nearest clothing store. "JARVIS? Mind filling in a few blanks for me?" she asked into the ear piece. All she could hear at first was static, causing her to tap on the 'watch' a few times. Shit, had she broken it? Just what she needed. "JARVIS?" Still static. Well, she was definitely screwed, at least for the moment. She sighed and stepped into the store. She was quick to buy a hoodie and a new pair of jeans, paying for them and slipping them out before slipping back out. She didn't like the way her reflection had looked in there. She had a black eye, her hair was all mussed up, this wasn't the way someone who always had the public eye on her should look. It was horrendous. So she opted to keep the hood up as she passed a news stand and paused, more a moment. On the front page was a picture of herself with what looked like some schmuck. She couldn't not buy it after that. Her nose was in the newspaper, now, not really ready to look up. Which she probably should have as she found herself walking into someone while she had been trying to put some of the pieces of last night together. Still weak on her feet, it knocked her right backwards. The force in which her rump hit the pavement made the ever growing migraine she had seemingly spike with an all new pain. She tried to keep her face hidden as she fumbled for her paper. "My apologies, I wasn't paying attention."508 | Julius Savage | >___< Okay, she went way weird, so sorry. I hope that this is at least workable, though. |

(Noo problem. And sorry about the delays!)
Julius had been lost in his own thoughts while walking down the road. It wasn't hard to lose onesself in thoughts, after all. New New York may have been a bustling place, but he had a lot on his mind. Long-term and short term plans, goals... and of course desires for immediate amusement. Of course, few things will draw a man back to reality as colliding with another human (or mutant?) in the middle of a street.
The surprise lasted only a moment however before he plastered his best 'I'm a nice, charming man' smile over his face as he reached out a hand to help the young woman up. He was, fortunately, sturdy enough to have remained on his feet. "Oh, I'm afraid I wasn't either. It's pretty easy to get distracted in a place like this, though, isn't it?" Julius remarked offhandedly, taking in the slightly disheveled appearance of the woman along with the newspaper on the ground. The bits and pieces clicking together quite quickly.
"Perhaps, though, you'd prefer it if we went someplace a bit less.... open, Miss Stark?" He offered up suddenly. To not recognize such a famous face would be a travesty, but to not take advantage of the chance to meet her, to develop a connection to what might be a valuable resource would be worse still! It was something he at least needed to try. "You look like you could use something to eat, if nothing else. And the lighting of some diners is probably enough to keep you from being recognized." He added after a moment.
With a sweeping gesture, he indicated the rest of street or, more specifically, a conveniently located corner-diner. Not the sort of place he would normally frequent, but then it was the nearest available such... facility? Eatery? Well, he shrugged magnanimously before smiling again. "I'll even buy. I'm sure for someone in your tax-bracket that must be a new experience." He remarked, a light tone to the statement.

Here's to being human and taking it for granted As her hand touched the paper, Ginnie heard the man speak and couldn't help but glance up, steal a look at just who she'd bumped into. She'd been expecting some tirade about how she should watch where she'd going, possibly with a lot of colorful language thrown in. It was New York City, after all, and colorful language was just one of those things that you got used to hearing. Not someone who was seemingly understanding. She pulled her newspaper back to her, rolling it up as she got it all together to slide it into her hoodie pocket. "New York's always been one of those places people tend to need their focus in, though. But yes, it's pretty easy to get distracted here," she replied softly, getting herself back to her feet before dusting herself off. She was momentarily put-off when she heard the guy say her name. She reached up to her hood to try and pull it further over her face, though it was obvious that he'd already seen it. No use really trying to hide it aside from simply wanting others not to see. Her migraine was pounding away at her head. Logic dictated that she head to the Avengers Mansion, Stark Tower, or even one of the apartments she kept in town, but her pounding head wished for her to just get somewhere that was quieter rather than safer. Besides, it wasn't like she was without her defenses. On a plus side, she was well rested, so she should at least be sharp and able to handle herself. So long as her head didn't distract her. And the fact that it was a public place meant nothing too terribly bad could actually happen. She knew she shouldn't think like that. She might jinx herself, but for the moment, it didn't seem like a bad idea. Still, that didn't mean she had to agree to it right away. "I don't know, i should probably try to get home, cleaned up and the like. Been a hectic morning and I don't want to risk someone seeing me like, well..." she gestured down to herself, "this."'What could it really hurt, though,' she thought for a moment. 'Aileen would be so proud of me if I did accept the offer, though. Might get her off of my back for a few days.' The sweeping gesture he made, somewhat amusing to her, lead her attentions towards the small diner. She was sure she'd been there once or twice. What was the real harm of going there? She let out a small chuckled, however pained it was, at his last comment and sighed. "That wouldn't be necessary. Though I suppose I could use a cup of coffee to clear my head." She paused for another second as another small wave of pain moved through her head before nodding ever so slightly. "To the diner then, I suppose, Mister..." Well, he knew her name, it would only be fair for her to ask for his, right? "Who are you exactly? I tend to have this strict rule of 'no name, no diners'."The highs and lows of living, to getting second chances ✿
