T'Shan looked at Lydia as she reached for the collar. He could feel the energy coming out of it, burning into his neck. He watched as she tried to absorb it and then...silence. EARTH: 15,000 AD/2000AM (After Mojo)The two of them appeared still a couple miles up as they'd been before. But below them was no city, no buildings, no sign of human society at all. Trees and grass were spread out below them, the type never seen before. The grass was a shadow of blue while the trees had green trunks and red leaves of some sort that almost resembled feathers. Whether from shock or not he wasn't sure, but suddenly he found himself slipping from Lydia's grasp. He called for Mjolnir but didn't feel the familiar tug back he was used to. Instead he began to fall. He reached out for the towering trees and began to grab branches. Not to stop himself but to slow himself. He was right at home in the jungle like environment. He landed with a thud flat on his back. "By Thor's Locks, what sorcery is this?" He asked sitting up. Sure his back ached from the fall and his hands from the branches but they were healing quickly. He'd been hurt much worse before. This was more annoying than anything. He glanced down at his hands seeing the scrapes and cuts quickly close themselves. He stood up, dusting himself off. He checked for the collar but found nothing. Not even the burn he'd briefly felt when the collar was removed. He sniffed the air before turning his attention to Lydia. "My Asgardian senses pick up nothing familiar. EVen these trees and grass smell far different than I am used to. You are the smart one of your family. Do you have any ideas Marvel?" He asked crossing his arms. But suddenly the quiet air was pierced by a shriek T'Shan had never heard in any realm. It sounded like a mix between a Tyrannosaurus and a hawk going in for the kill. "I suspect that was not a friendly greeting Marvel. Perhaps it is best to find shelter and observe." TAG: Helen Danvers

The light had been blinding even though she had tried to shield her eyes against it. And then there was nothing, no tingling pins and needles no blindingly bright light giving her a wicked headache and no hand on T'Shan. Then everything came rushing back all at once and she was practically vibrating with all the excess energy she'd absorbed. She looked around trying to find the Asgardian, finally spotting him as he felt toward...Earth? She started to fly after him to catch him but she could barely contain the energy she had absorbed. Convincing herself he'd be just fine, she flew up a little higher and let it all out. Then she slowly sank to the ground, looking around in disbelief.
"What...where are we?" Lydia still felt wonky as she landed, the complete disorientation of being nowhere she recognized combined with her skin still feeling like it was on fire. She took in the strange new surroundings, the feathertrees and blue grass, like actually blue grass. They were above Times Square just moments ago now...now it looked like they were on another planet. But, that couldn't be possible, could it?
"I...don't know...I...I could go to the upper atmosphere and check the stars I guess...See if there's any sort of recognizable constellations " She lifted off the ground, not bothering to joke back about being the smart one. Normally she would have, but this was all too much for her to process at the moment. She could only imagine what kind of chaos was happening back home.
Home. They had to get home. And maybe figuring out where they were the could point them where to go. She started lift off again, to check the stars when the shriek split the air. She jumped slightly, surprised at it and nodding fervently in agreement with T'shan at the idea of shelter. "Agreed. Would you like to go high or stay down low? That thing sounds very big. I don't feel like fighting the local wildlife just yet."

He glanced up as she tried to figure out where they were. The realm seemed similar. But it could actually be something as similar as him wanting to believe he was in Midgard and on Earth. It could be wishful thinking but he also knew that there was a sense of familiarity to it.
"You carrying me is not the best decision. It leaves us relatively open. For all we know that sound came from something airborne. Ground is safer Marvel."
He said before grabbing a branch he'd knocked off a tree. Instead of Mjolnir it was a decent club. It would work in a pinch. The branch was already pretty heavy and dense. He could use it to defend them.
"We are bound to find a cave of some sort as me move. Night may be falling soon, we are unprepared for that."
He wasn't in the mood to deal with whatever creatures live in this world. T'Shan has fought dragons and other creatures, but this may be different. He knew what he was facing when he went in. But in this case he had no clue what they'd be facing. Plus the fact they hadn't met any humans yet was already concerning. Humans covered Earth, not meeting them was a huge issue that bothered him more than he mentioned,
"I suggest we find somewhere safe to observe from."

"Oh fun. Walking." She watched him pick a branch for a crude but effective weapon, keeping an ear out for any other disturbances. She was starting to get just a little nervous, having no idea what to expect here. But she'd take T'Shan's advice and listen to whatever his suggestions were. This was more his element than hers. Phil had taught her how to survive in the wild, how to make a fire, and set up shelter and what have you, but that was back home, where she knew the flora and fauna and could reasonably assume the biggest thing out to eat her would be a bear. This was an entirely different ballgame. All the training for other planets had been theoretical really. But it was still something she could draw on.
"We should also find a source of water. If there is such a thing that's safe for us to drink." Water was something they both needed. She could subsist without food for awhile, but water was something that no one she knew could last without. Well, except maybe Sebastian, but he had other things he couldn't last long without. She looked up at the trees as they walked along, keeping an ear out for anything big and heavy that might come barreling their way. If necessary, she'd grab T'Shan and fly up into the tree to hide if they didn't find a cave or something soon.

T'Shan should have known Lydia was smarter when it came to survival. Being the sister of James she would've been forced to learn various survival skills. Of course wanting to find water and shelter were rather obvious desires. But either way, she was right. They needed water and shelter.
"Aye, water. We need to watch for denser vegetation as it is a sign we're getting closer."
She had a very good point actually. The water might not be drinkable. It's possible it'd be poisonous or even contaminated. Yes T'Shan was relatively certain they were on Earth but had no concrete proof. For all he knew they'd ended up on a similar planet where the water was arsenic. But spending time worrying about that would do no good. Worrying over meaningless concerns was more his sister's style.
He proceeded to walk with her through the grass, looking for any signs of water, shelter or where they were in general. The grass was tall and T'Shan wasn't a fan of not being able to see from the waist down. But his senses were still working and aside from some weird smells he wasn't picking up any animals, all plants.
"If we get ticks from the grass it would be, as they say, the cherry on top. Were you not my friend's little sister I would offer to check."
He said with a laugh. He was mostly trying to help ease her in case she was freaking out. Like he was trying to not do. But just then he heard the same screech they'd heard when they first landed. Without a word he grabbed Lydia and pulled her down to the grass to conceal them. JUst as they went down he looked up and saw a large bird like creature. It was red with four feet capped off with razor sharp talons while the beak seemed to almost have fangs. That wasn't as concerning. What was concerning however was the fact that it easily had a 600 foot wingspan. The wind from its wings could be felt as the trees seemed to sway and fight to stay upright in it. Just then it was gone. T'Shan sat up and dusted himself off.
"That is the Alpha here. Did you notice how silent it got when he was overhead?"

Pushing through the grass got annoying very quickly, having random tall blades smack her in the face as she tried to push past them. They came up nearly to her shoulders and gave her very little to look at but more grass. After awhile, she floated upward to be at level with T'Shan, letting the grass simply part it's way around her legs as he walked and she just followed along next to him. She would have felt much better in the air, quickly being able to spot water, or shelter or anything else that could help them. But she also didn't feel like getting eaten.
"Haha, no. I think if bullets can't hurt me, ticks wouldn't be able to make a meal out of me." It helped, just a little, to think of this like a normal camping trip, well, normal for her anyway. Camping was usually some sort of survivalist training. Then she froze as the sound of the animal screech from earlier reverberated in her skull and rattled her down to her bones. She didn't even struggle when T'Shan pulled her to the ground. All she could do was stare at the giant bird.
"Oh...we are definitely not in Kansas anymore..." She stood up as he did, looking around, hearing the silence that fell in the Alpha's wake slowly start to fade out with the sound of life returning to the area. "I hope that is not how big they all are around here. We need to find shelter quickly."

With the creature gone T'Shan turned his attention back to Lydia. She was right to be concerned, everyone should be upon seeing that. He stood up and continued on his way.
"Do you see those spikes on it's head and wings? Those are defensive. What does something that size need to defend itself from?"
He asked, more speaking out loud than looking for an answer. Primarily because he didn't expect her to know. How could she? They were new to this world, he suspected. But it didn't change the fact they needed food, water and shelter. The longer they spent without it the weaker they'd get and the more likely they'd be to die. T'Shan had no plans to die, he was tired of it. He needed to get home and begin doing things differently.
"As for the ticks, well those are Earth ticks. Upon seeing that....creature I suspect we are no longer top of the power chain here."
He said in regards to her earlier comment. He was used to being pretty much untouchable. Sure a few well placed shots here and there but he always came back. This however, was entirely different. Just then his ears picked up something and he stopped, holding his hand out.
"Hold. Up ahead there's a pack of...something like wolves in the grass. Not sure if they are hunting us or not. I estimate 6 or 7. We best head left. Until we know the hierarchy just assume we are at the bottom of that."

Lydia's head was on a swivel after seeing that bird, trying to take in everything around them. But everything was so different, she didn't know what she should be looking for. So she stuck close to T'Shan as they continued on their way. With the grass being so tall and things so weird, she didn't feel like getting separated from the only familiar thing on the entire planet.
"I don't know. I also don't feel like finding out. But our luck is such that I think we probably will at some point if we stick around long enough." The thought made her frown, but she knew it was the truth. People like them didn't find trouble; trouble usually found them. She didn't want to fight something the size of Godzilla, but if they were going to get back home, if she was going to get back home, she might have to. And she was going to get back. They both were. They had to.
"Ah, yes. I highly doubt we're the top of any chain here. Going to have to learn to be careful again..."
She stopped when he signaled and went silent, looking around before sinking lower into the grass, planting her feet on the ground. A pack of things. Oh joy. Just what she wanted. "Are we downwind? They might not know we're here." She whispered, before heading in the suggested direction. Through breaks in the trees they were heading toward, she could see a small mountain of some sort. Generally that was where one found caves.
"We should head there, for that mountain. Probably water there too, hopefully drinkable. If not, we could try and boil it." She looked back over her shoulder through the grass, back toward the pack, trying to see if the grass was parting as they moved, possibly toward them. She really didn't want to make any more noise than necessary or attract any unwanted attention.

It was a grim thought but an accurate thought none the less. It was indeed true that they were likely to be here for awhile. Yes it was true that the odds of getting back were there, just not good. Between the Avengers and their allies they might be able to find them, where ever that is. Hell for all they knew they were in comas, trapped in some sort of joint delusion. Of course it seemed unlikely given what they experienced, it was still a possibility.
"Again? I have never been careful. But in a situation like this I can see the appeal. After all I would rather not survive a bomb only to be lunch for some excuse for a tiger or whatever crazy animals we will see here."
He said shaking his head. He glanced over to where the pack of whatever was. They seemed stationary, checking them out from afar. That was fine with him. Without Mjolnir and not even knowing if his powers work here he didn't want to test them yet.
"Aye, to the mountain it is Marvel."
He said nodding his head and slowly moving towards the mountain in the distance. Creatures or not they'd need shelter, food and water. As they moved towards the mountain he heard the wolves or what have you wander off. He wanted to think they were scared off by their combined strength but wasn't as confident as he'd like to be. Eventually they walked in silence, both simply taking in the crazy sights that surrounded them.
"So Marvel..."
T'Shan was trying to break the silence. They needed to communicate and be on good terms. They were the only other people left to talk to.
"I hear tell you and Green Lantern are getting close."
He knew it was a terrible topic. But he knew nothing of her other than being James' sister. But he'd rather get to know her personally.
"Of course that is simply what the reports I read over James' shoulder says. That and something about an Adam trying to pretend he's SHerlock Holmes and getting into...oh...what is the Midgardian word? Ah yes, hijinks."

"Well," Lydia said, stepping over a downed tree as they left the clearing and headed into the forest. "I was not born with my powers. They came gradually. So, I had to be careful. The fun part was the super strength coming before the invulnerability. I am amazed I don't have more scars." It got darker as they walked, the canopy of trees cutting out most of the light above them. She kept having to look down at her feet to make sure she didn't trip as the underbrush started to get thick with either dead foliage, raised roots or vines that seemed to crisscross across the ground. She decided that in order to focus more on her surroundings and less on trying not to fall flat on her face, she'd just hover along next to T'Shan, like she had earlier in the tall grass.
She had been rather focused on seeing if the plants were also out to get them when T'Shan's question broke the silence that had fallen. She stuttered a little bit as he also mentioned Adam getting into hijinks as a secondary topic of conversation. "I...well GL and I have been friends for a long time. We've been through a lot. Though I wouldn't say we are 'getting close' any more than you and Hawkeye. Not for lack of trying on my part, it's just....never really been a topic we've talked about. Thought I'd have lots of time after we got him back from the other dimension." She went quiet for a moment, thinking about all the time she actually had to at least broach the subject, and how she hadn't, and how she really should have. Now, she didn't even know if she would ever be able to. All those petty worries that had stayed her tongue now seemed so ridiculous and she couldn't believe she was such an idiot to not tell him anything.
"I have been waiting over a year to talk to him. About it. I was on my way to, actually, when...well when I got replaced. When we became next door neighbors." She stopped floating along for a minute, her feet actually touching the ground as she tried to push the memories out of her head. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath before continuing. "We're just...or I'm just...I dunno. I have horrible track records with guys. I didn't want to add him to that list. I didn't want to lose my best friend by trying to be something more." She shrugged and started walking along, both memories and nightmares plaguing her, making her tense up the more she tried to think about anything else than her days held as captive.
"What about you? James talks about how much you shamelessly flirt with Hawkeye. Is that just flirting or is it more?"

T'Shan wanted to talk about something else other than what had just happened and where they were. It was obvious to anyone that it didn't look good. It was a good thing the two of them got a long, possibly even considered friends, since it may be just these two for a long time. But he refused to admit that it would only be them because they'd never get home.
"I am afraid I can not relate to you Marvel. I was born with my strength, durability and so forth. But I can see the issues."
He said calmly as they walked. He nearly stumbled over a root but caught himself. He managed to quickly cover it, he hoped and not make it noticeable.
"Ah, yes I can see the issue. But would you rather there be something unspoken between you or not? You could never really be happy with someone else. Say you meet someone else get married, kids, whatever. That husband, or bride I suppose, either one. But that person would be a silver medal. Personally I would not want to be a silver medal."
He said calmly. It was something he'd thought about long enough. Basically he'd already set up a good speech to Aileen, it was just a matter of getting the guts to give it. He kept coming up with excuses. The time was wrong being the main one. He knew Skugga was sick of hearing all the excuses though.
"Ah yes, Hawkeye. I want it to be more but....ugh. She seems to have, temporarily I hope, sworn off men. Mainly because James' duplicate kidnapped her and did things, or tried to at least. For now though, aye, just blatant nearly disgusting level of flirting."
He said with a light chuckle. Their comments to each other had slowly begun drifting from just vaguely sexual to occasionally pornographic. But so far still nothing, nothing at all had come of it. He had heard Skugga joke about a pool among the Avengers and their friends but he wouldn't be that surprised.

"No," Lydia smiled, hovering over another rather large root protruding out of the ground. "I suppose I wouldn't want to be anyone's second choice either." T'Shan, of course, was right. Every other relationship she'd had, something had always felt wrong. And now she knew it was always because they weren't Marty. But that thought still scared her. Probably always would. But, she'd have to face her fears or live forever with the "what if?" haunting her. With all the near death and crazy doppelganger business they had been through, there was no more waiting or excuses left. For either of them.
"Yeah, we're all kinda readjusting to life. Just...give her time, which I'm sure you have, but don't give her too much space. I can tell you that that is the exact opposite of what to do. She needs her friends. And lots of flirting...maybe something more meaningful to show her you're there for her whenever she's ready. I dunno what that could be, but it could go a long way."
Lydia went quiet for a moment, thinking about her own failure to not give Marty space, and vice versa. A bunch of what ifs and should haves floated through her head, what if she'd told him how she felt when her, Walt and Jor rescued Marty? She should have gone to see him after he took a leave of absence from the Titans, not stay on the other side of the country from him. It was just a whole mess.
She stopped hovering along though, when she felt something brush her leg. She looked around warily, wondering what was roaming around in the forest. She saw one of the roots below her feet shift just before it shot out toward her, grabbing her ankle and trying to drag her away. She let out a shout and tried to fly away, blasting at the ting attached to her ankle. Several more shot up after her and T'Shan and started dragging them deeper into the forest. Lydia tried to grab for T'Shan as she continued to fight off the attacking plant life. She could see it, in the distance, this giant hulking thing that looked like it belonged on Broadway or in a video game rather than the middle of an actual forest. The plant kept snapping it's jaws at them with a loud crack as it dragged them forward, and as they got closer, she could smell what she could only assume was the digestive fluids.
"I'm. Not. Dying. because of some Audrey II wannabe!" She fired a few more blasts at it, feeling her body start to get hot with every bolt she through. "Scion! Give me your hand!!!"

He was glad she sort of took his advice. Of course him giving advice to someone about love did indeed seem odd and that wasn't lost on him. He had no experience with love or relationships. Sure he'd had the occasional sex buddy he could call for a quick fling but no relationship. He wanted that and he wanted that with Aileen ideally. But that was difficult since she seemed to not be a huge fan of him, or guys in general right now. Even their flirting had suffered, but he was patient.
"Aye, I have been debating just telling her how I feel. But the timing is never right, and now here we are....where ever this is. It seems everyone was damaged by the doubles."
Of course no one might have known how badly it messed him up. No one had bothered to actually ask him about it. Whether they didn't want to talk about it, thought it would be bad to bring up, or figured he was strong enough to handle it was unclear. He walked in silence with her, knowing she had it just as rough. After all her cell was right next to his. They seemed to try and help each other after each session. But as the days and months went by it got harder and harder. He stepped carefully over another root before glancing over at her.
"Has anyone asked you about...you know? I have not slept a complete night since. I believe the others are afraid to hear how bad it truly was."
He said calmly as they walked. This was one of the first times he'd really talked about it. Sure S'Fada had made sure he was ok but he chalked that up to more of a big sister thing. Plus even then she slowly went back to her own stuff. Sure staying on as an Avenger was nice, he liked spending time with her, but there seemed to be an unspoken cloud hanging over head. He saw Lydia go down first and was about to swing his make shift club at the roots to save her when he felt the roots wrap around his wrist. It pulled him down to the ground and he quickly began to punch and kick away at the roots. He reached out and was about to grab her hand when it was grabbed by a vine.
"Nay Marvel. Today shall not be our last day."
There was a loud clap of thunder suddenly. His weather manipulating without Mjolnir was not even half of what he could do. But lightning was still lightning. The problem was without Mjolnir and being dragged he had trouble aiming. So suddenly lightning began to rain down. His only concern was not hitting her. A few bolts hit the creature enough to free T'Shan's arm and allow him to grab for her hand.
"I hope you have a plan Marvel."

"I have part of a plan?" She said as she grabbed T'Shan's hand, Lydia hoped her half a plan worked. They usually seemed to work for James, even if sometimes he ended up in the hospital. She wasn't going to die, not here, and not while someone needed her help. She pulled on T'Shan, blasting away at the roots wrapped around him while trying get them both away.
"Basic plan: run away. Back up plan: blow it up." Another root shot up and wrapped around her ankle, dragging her back down as she pulled T'Shan free, grabbing at her wrist and dragging her down. She was not going down. She wasn't going to die. She needed to get back home, to James, to Phil, to Walt and her team. To Marty. Her whole body began to feel like it was ready to explode. She had to get T'shan back too, to his team, to his sister. To Aileen. She was going to get them out of this. He could return the favor later.
She let go of T'Shan, using both hands to charge up a blast as more roots grabbed on and dragged her down. She could feel her hands and head getting hot as she struggled more, before letting of a large pulse of energy, incinerating all the binding plant matter with a shout. She'd never felt like this before, but she sure as hell felt a lot better than she had when they arrived. Her hands. She looked down at her hands and they weren't just glowing, they were on fire. She felt more powerful than she ever had, which is what they needed right about then. She looked over at the sentient plant as it tried to regroup and attack again. Then she fired at the plant with everything she had. She kept firing even after it was a burned out husk. Then she dropped to the forest floor.
"I don't sleep either...I just fall unconscious every few days...too many nightmares..." She said, answering his question from before they were so rudely interrupted. "Is my hair on fire? It feels like it's on fire..."

"Run away and blow it up. That is my kind of plan. However we need to discuss using your brother's planning strategy, provided we survive."
He said with a light laugh once he was pulled free. He knew they could survive this, or at least hoped he could. Sure he'd fought a wide variety of creatures before but this was new for him. Although it was fun, so he had that going for him. Once he was on his feet he watched her begin to glow and light on fire. He'd deal with that later, when he didn't have a giant plant trying to kill him. One root came up around his arm, still trying to eat him. Of course if it tried to use him as a shield against the sudden attack he wouldn't be surprised. However it was suddenly weakened by the attack. He planted his feet and pulled. He watched as the root got pulled from the ground and eventually snapped. He was about to follow it up with a punch but Lydia finished it up.
"Umm...your hair more accurately...is fire. But on the plus side it works on you."
He said with a sigh. Sadly seeing someone on fire, while startling, was not exactly new. He'd worked with Human Torch while he was young and he wasn't surprised.
"Luckily I only need very little sleep. Come Marvel. The scavengers will be here soon. While not the most dangerous in packs they can prove deadly."
He said calmly. He didn't know enough about her powers to be surprised. So for all he knew this was just a normal Wednesday for her. She seemed surprised but that was a whole other idea. He kicked some smoldering roots away from him and quickly turned East, away from the obvious path.
"Are you not warm? I have found being engulfed in fire is warm."
