To say Lydia was excited that Jor asked her to test out his ship would be an understatement. She was honored and beyond ecstatic. Elated. Overjoyed. Of course, she also took this responsibility incredibly seriously, paying very close attention to Jor to make sure she was getting everything down she possibly could. She was also nervous, being trusted with such a responsibility. But Jor wouldn't have asked her if he didn't have complete faith in her ability to fly it.
Lydia was feeling pretty confident in her ability to fly the Kryptonian vessel, though it had taken some getting used to. After a bit it became rather intuitive, almost anticipatory to her next move. However, the real test would be how they handled intercepting the distress beacon that had come on their radar.
"A crash is possible...though at the rate they're going, it could even disintegrate in the upper atmosphere." Lydia frowned. There were people aboard that ship, and though she couldn't be certain through all the damage, it looked slightly familiar.
"I'll do what I can, even if what I can do is simply guide it away from populated areas." With a thought, her own helmet sealed itself around her head and she gave Jor a thumbs up as well as he left the ship, leaving her at the helm. It was now or never, time to take off the training wheels and see how this thing handled when she was under pressure.
"This is Captain Marvel. We received your distress call. Myself and Superboy are attempting to slow your descent. I repeat, this is Captain Marvel. We received your distress call." She tried to hail anyone who was listening, hoping the ship's mental interface could handle that and could find an open frequency. Hopefully someone could answer her and give them a better picture of what was going on. She didn't want to go in blind but she wasn't going to ignore a distress call either.
Guiding the ship within as close a proximity as she felt comfortable, she attempted to grab the ship with her tractor beam, and pulled up. The ship started to shake some under the strain, but she only had to slow it down, not stop it completely.
