Her fingers buzzed over the pads of her keyboard, never looking down at herself but instead at the screen of her laptop. While green flashing signs appeared on the glass surface, her body positioned itself against the wall as a curled up ball, like she was in a sofa or something. She typed pretty casually for such a position, with the laptop seated atop the front of her bare legs, something her nike shorts failed to cover. The typing continued on for another few minutes; no part of her body besides her hands moved, except for her sock-clad feet that occasionally tapped against each other. A soft bell sound echoed from the base of the computer as a green sign appeared. She read it and smiled mischievously. " Another finished quiz...and another 'talking to myself' moment."
Balancing the laptop on her knees carefully, she carefully aimed her wrist at angle; a webline splattered over the half-eaten ramen noodle bowl but didn't touch the actual food thanks to her angling. She yanked it up carefully into a hand and stuffed a few forkfuls in her mouth after ripping off the webbing. She immediately went back to saving the finished quiz, chewing softly in perfect rhythm with her tapping fingertips. Her messy bun of red hair failed to hold up one strand of hair from her face any longer, causing her to stare at the scarlet lock of hair in annoyance. A quick huff of breath handled for a few seconds, and then a finger push handled it permanently. "aaaand...There!"
She only sat there a few minutes longer to finish off the food, then walked down the wall with casual grace. Her mind relayed the plans for the coming night as she placed the bowl in the sink: A quick change of attire would be had, her equipment would have a little maintenance check and then she'd be free to go out and patrol. She bounced a few times in her effort to get her socks off, putting in less effort to put on her costume. Wolf Spider slipped on her mask and was about to walk to the window when her tall mirror stopped her. She scrutinized her figure in the mirror, flexing her arms at times. As tight as ever...Oh well, better than that woolly design I tried in the summer. Smelled like a sweatshop for a week.
Outside, she swished through the air above the ridden streets and occasionally gave a few pigeons sizeable heart attacks. The swinging circled and zig zagged and triangled Queens first, before she moved on to the Bronx and eventually further past the area that harbored statues of fallen superheroes. The young woman caught sight of the Spider-man statue of course, surrounded by a few last visitors who possibly reminisced about his days with each other. A somber line took hold of her lips behind the mask, followed by a sigh and a flick of her free hand. Another webline was formed. She decided to do a bit of further traveling and swung outwards towards the outskirts of Metropolis. Then after several more minutes she was on the outskirts of Gotham. Things looked relatively fine in both cities, and Piper accepted that nothing excited would come from this night--
BLAM!
Vibrations blasted through her entire skull enough to hurt, causing her to instinctively pull her head back and narrowly avoid a bullet slicing past her nose...no,wait. A closer look at it before it sailed away in seconds confirmed it was a pretty big tranquilizer dart. For once someone wasn't trying to kill her, but the thought of being taken alive didn't seem like such a nice idea either. Halfway through looking for the bum who tried to stick with a needle, Piper realized that she should be looking where she was going, right around the time that her head buzzed again.
Of course she'd already hit the street lamp by that point, knocking the air out of her completely. She was wheezing before her body ever rolled to a halt, but she managed to gain her breath next to a car. The young woman got to her feet quickly, holding up her arms first and then scanning her legs. "Okay...no broken bones at least. Maybe a bruised organ though."
Her Spider-sense allowed her to dodge another dart, and focus on where the crook was. He looked to be someone in his forties, wearing dark clothes and the biggest backpack she'd ever seen in history...obviously hiding something. She looked at the gun he wielded and then up at the slightly cautious expression he had, freezing up. "I... see you're into night-time medicine! Hope you aren't going to do to me what Christian did to Ana in that one movie..."
He didn't reply at all and instead threw the gun to the side, then tore off the concealing fabric on the backpack...revealing something a bit familiar. They were four large, mechanical arms with three pincers on each end and possibly limited stretch capabilities. Those could only belong to the old Otto Octavius...what was this guy doing with them?
Whatever the reason, Piper smirked and balled her hands into fists. "Oh, you're into hentai..?Tentacle stuff? Not my thing."
