Ever since the attack at Jean Grey and the rise of Apocalypse it seemed crime was at an all-time high. Anti-mutant sentiment crimes seemed to be more common than ever, supporters of Apocalypse causing trouble and destruction all over the city, pandemonium in the streets. The streets at night were more dangerous than ever. If it wasn't for the fact Jess was swamped in work and assignments from SHIELD to pay too much attention to Alex, it seemed more that right now Alex was taking care of herself and Alex liked that. If Jess was around, she would most likely stop Alex from her nightly escapades into New York and part of Alex felt okay about this. She couldn't take it lying and do nothing and it seemed like it was one of the few things she had left right now.
Lydia was busy working and being a Titan, Becca was with her parents and she didn't want to get her involved in heroing ever since what happened to her, Ed seemingly disappeared off the face of the earth and Isaac was... somewhere. She hadn't seen much of him for a while, and she was starting to get worried. During the day she usually went out and walked by places she thought he might usually hang out at or try, and usually fail, to get Becca's help and at night she tried to find him while doing her job as a hero. Today was another one of those nights.
Once she had finished her dinner, chores and homework, she still had a lot of responsibilities that needed to be done she wasn't a monster, she took off her blouse and jeans she was wearing to change into her costume. She took a deep breath and finished a glass of water she had with her. She opened the window of her bedroom and looked out at New York city, with the early spring night air stinging her face. She smiled as she lowered her mask and raised her hood. She shot web to a nearby building and launched herself into the night air.
It was already a few hours since she left. She had stopped a few minor muggings, a carjacking and even a drunken fight. It was strangely quiet this night. Nothing much was happening and there usually was and it didn't feel right. Especially when something big like the return of Apocalypse was happening. At one point she decided to check at one of the places the mutants who weren't kidnapped by Apocalypse and escaped Jean Grey were given refuge. It was possible some of them needed help or comfort so if she couldn't save lives, she might be able to make some others better.
She got near to the area and, for some reason, her silk senses started burning slightly in the back of her head. Something was off and she dropped to a nearby alleyway. It was empty, but her senses kept tingling.
"Hello?" she said aloud looking around her arms raised like she was about to be attacked.
"I know you're out there."
