It was slightly odd being in San Francisco. This wasn’t her City, hell she was in the opposite side of the US. But it was for a good reason at least. After a month or two from hiatus superhero-ing to heal from her wounds, I mean it was a two month hiatus that was more enforced on her rather than her accepting it. Hard to sneak out of a house of a SHIELD operative and with super sense who remembered the sound of Alex preparing for a night out. After coming home that day with several high degree burns and a limp, set the maternal instincts that she had in motion and both helped bandage and remove the shrapnel while telling her off for acting so brash and reckless and should’ve contacted her or Lydia or someone else who could help her. And Jesse had a few points. She was being reckless and because of her, majority of the evidence was up in flames.
At least Jesse and the Danvers helped her. I mean Carol also chewed her out a little for being so brash whenever it came up but she also brought baked goods and Lydia which was a big plus. So the months fly by fast and hell there was even a proposition sent out to help her get back in tip top shape by spending sometime in San Francisco helping by training alongside the Titans for a bit. As Jesse and Carol repeatedly put it ‘some discipline and learning to keep a cool head is something that was paramount to learn.’ Which she of course agreed to. She hated not being a hero and hell if this would prove to them she was ready to return, it’d help.
She arrived in San Francisco early that day. She had packed light bring only essentials and made her way into the city. It was her very first time being in this city… or anywhere outside of New York City so it was kinda of an adventure for her. She texted Lydia she had landed and was making her way to the tower now.
Now if I was a giant tower holding some of the best and brightest of my generation where would I be? She asked herself. She looked at some of the buildings and a smirk crossed her face. definitely somewhere high and easily accessible to heroes… Time to do a little scouting she said to herself as she made her way to an empty alleyway. Looked around for any onlookers and started climbing the building. Even with 2 months of no scaling the tall buildings of New York at least she could still scale ones half their size extremely quickly. She scoped the skyline for the building she was heading for. What could the building loo- Gee Imagined it standing out, but not this much. T for Target I supposed. She thought to herself as she looked at the comically large T across slightly offshore of the city. That was going to be fun getting there. She raised the hood of her Bat Man hoodie and started running. Jumping from building to building letting out the occasional shout of excitement that escaped her as she felt the same rush again.
She arrived at the beach in no time. Then she came across the problem that was the water. She sighed. Taking a boat seemed too suspicious and Jess had refused to give her the location for the teleporter and the code for it saying ‘it’ll be good exercise’. Alex sighed and dropped her bag.
”Why did I ever agree to doing this…” She said to herself as she grabbed her phone and stuck it to her laptop. Then began webbing the computer and phone into a sticky air bubble filled variation. She grabbed the air bubble and aimed it at the Titan Tower. She took a few steps back before running forward and tossing it across the water. She crossed her fingers as she saw it hit and stuck against the tower. She sighed in relief as it hit.
”Strength hasn’t gone at least. That’s good.” She said as she put the bag on again and tightened the straps. She took a deep breath in and jumped into the water and started swimming to the island. She regretted keeping the hoodie on, it was brand new and slightly an annoyance to swim in. It was not the weight that was the problem but the way it constrained her from doing full movements.
It didn’t take her too long to arrive and she shook herself and took off her hoodie to rinse, she started looking around for the entrance to this place. ”Unidentified individual arrived on the island. Activating defense mechanisms.” An automated voice said from the building itself which took Alex by surprise.
”Wait what? She said as turrets arose from the sand and started firing in her direction. She chucked her hoodie away as she started to move, which got shredded to pieces, and started to duck and weave around to dodge getting hit by the pellets, the Titans apparently had some serious defenses.
”Lydia!” She yelled as loud as she could as started getting more and more mobile. This must’ve been some kind of mistake. It must be.
Right?
