James stood in the training room, running through the information on his data pad. He'd been over it twice and was just giving it a final read before setting it down and taking off his track suit jacket. The pad contained the latest reports from Dinah who had been working with the Titans with everything that had gone on. They'd all endured various forms of mental trauma over the last year and James wanted to make sure that they were holding up. He'd lived through what that kind of stress could do and didn't want any of them to have to go it alone.
That said, his newest concern was Ginnie's younger brother, Ned. While Ginnie hadn't said anything outright to him about it, James knew that she'd been worrying about Ned. In fact, she'd been worrying about him in such a way that James recognized it from the days where he was overprotective of Lydia. Granted, he'd still put a round in someone's head for her, but she'd been through so much in the last year, that even James had to admit that his little sister was growing up. That said, he'd sent a text to Ned and asked him to show up at the Tower for a private lesson.
"Well, no sense in not getting a little warm up in before he gets here..." He said to no one in particular. "JARVIS, direct our guest to the training room when he gets here."
James pulled the shield out of his bag and docked it with the magnetic link on his hand. The red and white disk clipped firmly into place and then James was off. He started with a lap around the room to get the blood pumping. Then, he dropped into a roll and came up, flipping onto the pommel horse and landing on his hand. He balanced himself on one hand and threw the shield at the nearest wall, letting the mag-locks disengage. The disk went flying and James switched off to holding himself up with the cybernetic right hand. The shield pinged off the far wall and came flying back in to James' area. He caught the under side strap and flung it again with the right hand, trying to keep his momentum.
The shield pinged off the first wall at a slightly different angle and James brought both hands down to the pommel horse. He dropped himself down a few inches and then pushed off, grabbing the rings and swinging down to the ground. As he hit the ground he took two steps forward and raised his left hand, catching the shield. He tossed it up and it locked back on to his wrist after it came down.
James walked over and detached his shield, slipping it into his bag again. Then he pulled out a water bottle and took a sip. It wasn't a full workout, but it was enough to get the blood pumping and loosen him up a little bit. Depending on how this was going to work, James wanted to be warmed up. It made him feel better about being tossed around, if that had to happen.
