"No...no. Listen Jack, I don't care if it doesn't pay anything. Those sick kids want to see me and I'm going to be there. If you don't like that then I'll go find an agent who doesn't care. Am I clear?"
Blackfire said while hovering high in the sky. He had a quick call come through from his agent, angry about some upcoming plans. Of course those plans had been perfectly time. a Children's hospital nearby wanted to meet him, at the same time the crime rate was going up near by. It was a perfect case of two birds with one stone. He was expected to meet with the kids tomorrow which meant he was free tonight. Koriand'r was with her nanny and Nightfire was prowling the night sky. So far it'd been relatively uneventful. Then again he was dealing with mostly low level threats, so there was that to take into account. As he hovered, looking over the city he heard screeching tires.
"Talk to me."
He said to his partner on the other end. He learned there was a high speed police chase near by and they were asking for backup. Nightfire quickly flew down, heading for the chase. It didn't take long to find it, given the noise. It was a box truck, being chased by a fleet of police, and special security cars. The back end of the truck opened and began to open fire on the cars, leaving them frozen where they were in a block of ice.
"Why is it never rogue lingerie models?"
He asked with a sigh before flying down. He fly alongside the truck before slamming his body into the side of the truck. It wobbled before tipping and sliding into a parked car. Nightfire landed, his black suit making him almost blend in with the road.
"Come out with your hands up and the beating will cease."
Suddenly a blue icy blast shot past his head, hitting a telephone pole. A man staggered out of the truck, wielding a large gun that really needed some sort of tripod, or another person at least. So he was likely dealing with someone who had super strength, fun.
"I take it you won't surrender."
Nightfire then fired a red energy blast from his hand, sending the man flying back, and the gun, skittering across the ground. The man tried to pull himself up but was met with a flying fist, knocking him cold.
"So much for a challenge."
He said as the police moved in to apprehend the criminals. He took to the air, flying away and looking for another threat.
