”I promise you; you will get that side-kick if you keep asking for it.”
A few of the men made unadvisable attempts at stopping Cassie still: bullets deflecting off green skin like light-rays off water, and anyone stupid enough to try an actual hand-to-hand attack deflected by her fists.
It was a shock to see how easily Robin slid straight through her legs- Cassie had been expecting to be able to cause righteous destruction for far longer than that.
”We get paid? Sign me up for your t-” She was interrupted by the energy blast, and stepped into a position in front of Robin, ensuring none of the further blasts hit the all-too-human target.
”Intergang? How come the Avengers and Justice League aren’t dealing with them instead of letting teenagers do the dirty work?” She was hardly an expert on the precise workings of either team, but she knew enough to be sure that Batman at least was likely to have some idea of what was going on here.
The hand-grab really had no physical force over Cassie, but the release of it pulled her brain into action. She charged after Robin, using her current bulk as a defensive precaution, shielding the other girl until the smoke pellets activated.
She then shrunk back to normal form, knowing it to be far less obvious among the smoke and debris.
Cassie followed Robin back to the alley where the bike currently was. She had been planning on running this, but in this situation she knew Robin was probably reliant on her if any projectiles started firing off, so it was a sadly necessary step to either take the ride on the bike or find a bullet-proof speedster- the latter of which she had no idea over.
”So which big-league team do we tell about this?” She asked, ready to hop on as soon as Robin was ready. Intergang was a large enough problem that she felt that taking this seriously was necessary.

At Cassie's question Roxy had to only shrug. It was a good question. This was very much a big team problem. Not the sort of problem a solo Teen Titan dealt with. But at the end of the day it was Roxy and Cassie that had to deal with them.
"Odds are this groups was operating so far below the radar no one noticed. They were posing as typical gun runners, a low level threat. Brilliant actually. I mean aside from them wanting to murder us brutally with crazy weapons. Ignoring that it's impressive."
She didn't want to call in back up however. But she also knew she should. But she didn't really trust anyone else to come help. So she decided to call for Titans. She had no idea if any were in the area or if any would even respond. But it was worth a shot. As she ran she quickly jumped onto the R-cycle, waiting to feel the weight of Cassie jump on. She knew the R-cycle was tough and could handle a lot but had never had a She-Hulk on it before. Once they were ready she took off, ignoring the missed blasts nearby.
"Hang on She-Hulk, back up should be here shortly, I hope."
She said shaking her head. She knew the odds of getting out of this alive were slim, very slim. Sure she liked playing it risky but this was going too far now. Mainly because she could easily be killed if she wasn't careful. Assuming of course she didn't get Cassie also killed in the process. She knew the Titans and her parents would be giving her a big lecture if she survived.

Enrique had been somewhat nearby when the distress came in. He had just been visiting some family friends and relaxing when the call came in. He had quickly changed and was off in a flash, no pun intended, tracking down the signal. He made sure to give himself a quick dose of his medicine before upping the speed and entering the city. He didn't have to look hard to figure out where the problem was. The massive energy blasts and the sound of a speeding motorcycle was more than enough to tip him off. As he ran he quickly pulled up next to the motorcycle, slowing down and looking over at the girls.
"Hola chicas, que parece ser el problema aquí?"
He asked with a smile before an energy blast hit the ground near his feet and sent him rolling. He used the momentum to pull himself back to his feet and caught back up to the R-cycle.
"Robin, you should've called for back up earlier. Especially when you were getting someone else in danger, regardless of if she can handle it."
He said before stopping. One truck coming after them had a man in the back with a large gun. He surged forward and ran over the truck, grabbing the gun from the man and turning around to catch back up to Roxy and Cassie, gun over his shoulder.
"We need to get somewhere to make our stand Robin and....not Robin. We can't fight them like this. We need a dead end. That way we'll be less likely to be surprised. Follow me."
He said before taking off and taking a few turns before ending up in an alley. He knew the people from Intergang were following. They were apparently low level, likely just moving the weapons for the big players. He stopped at the end of an alley and watched the opening.

”They’re not very far below the radar if two teenagers find them in the space of fifteen minutes.”
The bike visibly lowered as Cassie added her weight. Cassie had honestly been expecting some ridiculous effect, but apparently the vehicle was as strong as Robin had suggested. She deliberately pulled herself far forwards into the seat, aiming to use herself as a meat shield. Cassie was impressed at the strength of the weapons they were using. She could feel each of the blasts that hit her, and was deeply aware of a those that were actually piercing skin. Cassie forced her skin to knit back together each time. The blasts still stung, but Cassie suspected that if the blasts hitting her had no blockade then Robin would be suffering far worse than the equivalent pain of wasp-stings.
”Y’know, I’m not sure if one speedster counts as back-up.” Cassie’s opinion quickly changed after she saw Rapidos take out the gunner. Or rather she worked it out from what she had been able to see. Cassie stared at him as he asked his question. She gaped slightly for about a half second before accepting that she wasn’t going to understand that; certainly not as quickly as he would likely appreciate. ”I never did well with Spanish.”
Cassie could sense that this guy was meant to be in charge, and she already disliked his manner. ”I’m not in danger. I’m super-durable, and I’m pretty sure that Robin’s alive right now because of that.” Maybe she wasn’t giving enough credit to Robin, but it really had looked like her presence had probably stopped the other girl from dying a few times.
”I’m Hulkling.” Cassie already may have disliked Rapidos (purely by merit of him being in charge), but she saw the merit in his plan immediately.
Cassie jumped off the bike before it stopped, although it was decelerated enough that she didn’t need to perform any further action to remove momentum.
She shifted form rapidly upon landing into that of her father- the magical one. ”I’m thinking reality-warping is more helpful than super-strength right now.” She said, trying to keep a low voice and failing, as she too turned her attention to the alley entrance, waiting for the inevitable pursuit of the intergang members.

"Yeah, but we only found them because we were looking for gun runners. We weren't looking for Intergang. It's a sort of hiding in plain sight type of situation."
She said over her shoulder. She began to weave in and out of all the cars. She ignored the screeching tires and crumpling metal signifying that the truck either blasted the other cars or just ran into them. However Roxy couldn't focus on them now. It was hard to save someone when you were dead yourself. Roxy wasn't about to die, well not yet at least. She had too much she still wanted to do and too many cases still open. She had a slight feeling of relief when Rapidos showed up however, but she didn't let it show. She was hoping more than one person was going to show but for now that wasn't going to happen. She'd make due with just herself, She-Hulk and Rapidos.
"Yeah I usually just nod my head and agree. I shiver to think about what I might've agreed to because of that. Would explain my allegiance however. Hell for all I know he's just saying gibberish each time."
She said with a laugh. She watched him disappear and come back holding the gun. That was mildly impressive, but then again for a speedster it was probably pretty standard. As they arrived in the alley she parked her bike and quickly got off. She jumped up onto he fire escape and readied an exploding arrow. She then glanced down at Hulking, kinda pissed off.
"Wait, you can warp reality and you just now mention that? That would've been so much easier back there."
She was really wishing she would've mentioned that before. She could've used that for a distraction of sorts. But instead she had to waste some arrows and smoke pellets. This was partially why she hated those with super powers. They never used them at the right time. Instead they wasted them, allowing the humans to take the brunt of the damage and waste their own resources.

He smiled a bit as Cassie's attitude. He was constantly surrounded by teenagers so he was used to dealing with attitude. Cassie would fit in just fine at the Titans. If they survived this Enrique would have to try and recruit her. Or at the very least give her a communicator. But that was assuming they survived this, which he was assuming they would. He never went into anything assuming they'd lose. That was one of the first rules of combat. He ignored Cassie's comment about not being in danger. Either she was insane or was not aware of just how dangerous Intergang could be. Either way she was bold, he had to give her that.
"Yes, you did a good job protecting Robin. But I get a feeling there are more dangerous threats coming. That weapon on the truck in the equivalent of a handgun for the Intergang."
He said calmly as they moved through the streets. While Robin went around cars Rapidos preferred to go over them. One semi proved tricky but he had enough speed built up to go straight up and over it. He took his place back by the girls and continued on with them.
"Pleasure to meet you Hulking. I'm Rapidos. I know your brother. Shame you don't join him in the Titans. We could use someone of your skills."
He said before they reached the alley. He grabbed his 'phone' and quickly dosed himself before turning his attention back to Cassie.
"How proficient are you with it Hulking? The opening to this alley is wider than I'd like. We'd need a way to funnel them in. Perhaps turn the ground on the edges to quicksand or something similar. That way they'd be forced to come at us single file. Then with my speed, your strength and Robin's aim they don't stand a chance."
Even then he could hear the vehicles coming closer. But there was no sign of any air support, which was good for them.
"Robin, watch the edges and the top. Make sure that if anyone tries to come to us they need to use the ground. Then they'll need to deal with Hulkling and myself."
He said patting his fist into his hand with a smirk.

Cassie grinned at Robin’s honesty. She had had quite a lot of time getting used to speedster-talk, but with the Spanish thrown in she struggled in exactly the same way. ”So their big guns might be enough to take out a hulk-copy? Noted.” It was pretty impressive for anything to be getting through even part-kree skin, and if those were low-grade weapons, she dreaded to think what the full deal would be. ”My skills include being a cheap knock-off and smashing things, which you guys already seem to have plenty of ability in.” Maybe that was a little harsh. She wasn't particularly opposed to joining the group but just felt that she would be tied down too much. Maybe if there was some way to be an extreme reserve, she’d take it, but otherwise, it was hardly her style.
”Hey, it was “reality-warp” or “work-as-a-Hulkling-meat-shield-to-stop-Robin-getting-her-ass-blasted-off”. I can’t keep up multiple power sets. And besides, I’m nowhere near as good at it as my brother or my dad, or heck, my grandma. And you specifically asked for green humanoids. I thought Hulk was a pretty good distraction.” Cassie didn't see much point in making the escape easier if they had no way of defending themselves from the shots aimed at them. She knew for a fact that the human side to her family were all what her brother called “squishy wizards”, and that if she had had to take any shots with little warning she’d have been less than worthless.
Cassie noticed the little fiddle with his phone but didn't think much of it. ”Well it’s more an issue of “How much have I seen my brother abusing his powers?” and therefore how well I know how to operate them, as well as “How strong was my father?” and the answers are “a lot” and “very” respectively.”
Cassie managed to take her weight a short way off the ground using her father’s power, and then held out her hands to either side, gesturing the shape and position she wanted the chaos magic to affect. ”Iwantthegroundturnedintoquicksand, Iwantthegroundturnedintoquicksand, Iwantth-“ Cassie felt the little lurch of magic which she instinctively knew meant the spell had worked. She doubted that the quicksand was particularly deep, or that it would be as effective as Rapidos seemed to want, but it was definitely there and certainly more helpful than nothing would be.
She landed back on the ground, and quickly shifted up to the Hulk form. The alley was just large enough for this to be feasibly useful.

Roxy rolled her eyes as Enrique's attempt to recruit Cassie. It seemed the Titans were constantly recruiting people. Which made her wonder just what the higher ups knew about. Was there some serious threat coming that they hadn't told her about. It wouldn't really surprise her since she rarely paid attention anyways. Well that and she'd only been to the tower a handful of times. Of course the reason for her accepting the invitation had been Huntress and Question. She knew they only wanted what was best for her, and it would help her in the long run. Not to mention, despite what she claimed, she needed allies. Although she preferred to work alone, even though she worked well with Cassie she still preferred solo work.
"Well the She-Hulk was definitely a good distraction. Plus you did make a good shield I suppose. I didn't get killed, so that was a plus."
Namely since being killed had a tendency to hurt, she assumed. She'd seen enough death to know it wasn't fun. Plus she could only imagine just what and who would be waiting for her on the other side. She kept her arrow at the ready, waiting for the right moment to fire. She only had a couple exploding arrows left, and that was assuming they worked. She did have a few sonic and fire arrows however. But she'd need to rely heavily on regular arrows and bird-a-rangs. She briefly glanced down at the quiver on her hip, not as full as she'd like.
"Hey, I know I'm the newer one and all. But instead of turning the ground into quicksand why not make a massive shield, or turn the enemy into turtles or something?"
She didn't know a lot about Reality Warping, but it did seem to make more sense to her. They could have Cassie create a massive fortress or get rid of the enemy with one quick magic burst. But instead she turned the ground into quicksand. Not as interesting.

Rapidos laughed lightly at Cassie's comment about having enough people like her. While he couldn't specifically deny that, he could still use her. Sure power wise there was Jor and Lydia and magic wise they had more than enough magic users. However she could be more useful in dealing with a rogue Sebastian and could keep Gabe focused so he didn't go full evil. Enrique knew it was a possibility, having been warned by senior heroes. But at the very least he'd need to get her a communicator, just on a reserve status.
"We could always use someone of your skills Hulkling. There are a lot of bigger threats popping up lately. Not to mention rumors about a new Terror Titans forming."
The Titans had no shortage of enemies from the past. He knew it was only a matter of time before someone reformed the Terror Titans. He'd heard numerous rumors on who was responsible for it. Everything from Jinx and Joker's Daughter to Sebastian and the Church of Blood. The last one was particularly disturbing, since it meant Sebastian was a mole the entire time. While he didn't want to believe it, he did need to keep it in mind. Especially since it was believable and not a terrible plan. As she turned the ground to quicksand Rapidos smirked lightly.
"Very good Hulkling. That should slow them down."
Enrique could hear the engines and people running, knowing it was coming close.
"Here we go chicas. Be careful and if you're going to die, take some with you. They won't take us alive. Or for our own sake we better hope they don't."
A line of men armed with the same guns as earlier made their way into the alley. However as they did a few men got stuck in the quicksand.
"Ven mis bellezas, vamos a hacer esto!"
He quickly shot forward in a blur and jumped, driving his feet repeatedly into one man. The man fell back onto another before Rapidos went back to stand by Hulkling.
"Eres mi diosa verde."
He said to Hulking before motioning towards the two men who were still coming towards the alley, now opening fire. Of course behind them were men in suits of cyber armor, likely designed to take on someone like Rapidos and Hulkling.

Cassie grinned at Robin’s analysis. ”Yeah, funny, I seem to think not dying’s a bit more important than keeping a few arrows, too.” She liked to think she had been a little bit more than a “good” distraction- from Cassie’s perspective she had drained the building of guards- but she wasn't going to niggle over details.
”Because I’m not that strong. Besides, trust me, you don’t want anyone in my family trying to control that much magical energy.” She dreaded to think what any of her relatives would achieve if they tried any of Robin’s suggestions. Knowing her family’s luck, probably the summoning of Mephisto himself- and that was just from her poor imitations of the others’ powers. And that certainly would be interesting.
”I presume it’s a case of “go big or don’t”?” She muttered, already running through options.
”You know, I didn't learn Spanish in five minutes, right? And did you just call me Verdi?” She was sure that was wrong, but as she understood so little of what he was saying at that speed -and in Spanish- she felt the little check was probably helpful.
”Metal armour? Wow, someone doesn't know my heritage.” Cassie’s thinking was very simple really. Without a shadow of a doubt her great grandfather would be able to take out all these metal weapons, feel out all the complex mechanisms and take them apart from the inside. She may only inherit a fraction of that power from the shifting, but she could at least bend and break the armour enough to allow Enrique a good shot at it as soon as possible; buckling the metal outwards and ripping it. She didn't have the strength to force it directly against all their bodies, nor to stop the guns from firing, but she could at least redirect the blasts from herself and Robin while in Magneto’s form- thankfully with no need for the bright red-and-purple costume magnificent as it might be.
”Tell me if you need more Lensherr skill. And I kinda feel like I should be making some epic “mutants saving the day” speech or something.” She didn't want to admit that that little trick was harder than it appeared- although knowing her she would do that pretty quickly anyway. Each individual piece was easy, but collectively maintaining the control on each weapon was a struggle, and she wasn't even sure if she had managed it completely- only that as-of-yet no one had yelled as though dying. She took up her prior form again, already anticipating the need for more shifting.

Roxy didn't know much about her family as they hadn't exactly stopped to chat about families and what not. However she had to assume Cassie came from some powerful family. The obvious choice was Hulk but she knew very little about him. She was also fairly certain he didn't have any sorcerers or shape shifters in his family. But she also wouldn't be that surprised. It seemed the more you looked into it numerous heroes and villains were related. She was beginning to wonder if they call came from one master super-being. She'd heard rumors about some guy named Savage and another Roman sounding guy. They were supposed to be ancient and immortal. If they were, that could mean all super beings descended from them. She quickly set down her exploding arrows beside her. She had three, she'd need to make them count. She drew a regular arrow and waited. She didn't like taking orders but Enrique had a good plan. If they all focused on the ground they could get overwhelmed from up top. That would be extremely dangerous. Of course for all she knew some one, some leader of Intergang ( Julius Savage) was watching over them, waiting for the right time to really strike. She saw one man trying to take the roof, sniper rifle looking thing in hand. Roxy fired a quick arrow into his thigh and he dropped, the rifle falling to the street below. One armored person made it away from Cassie's magnetic attack and was crawling over the side of the building. Roxy fired a flaming arrow at it and it fell into the quicksand. "Perfect. Guys, I don't have an infinite number of arrows like Green Arrow seems to have. Seriously, he has to have some special portal or something." She said shaking her head as she resumed firing regular arrows at a few trying to go up and over and any strays the other two missed. She managed to dodge a few energy blasts, noticing that the fire escape above her was melting. "Well that's ominious..." She said, trying to ignore it and going back to firing arrows. "Bigger group coming up!" She yelled, firing an explosive arrow into the middle of the group. She was just trying to break them up and slow them down. However she also knew in the process she was making herself a massive target.

"Well yes, I used the word green in my name for you. But it was all positive, I assure you."
He said with a light smirk. He was rather impressed though as she seemed to use magnetic powers to manipulate the armor. Clearly these guys weren't that smart and the armor was low level. Since being able to resist magnetic pulls should be one of the first things done when designing armor to fight heroes. As the armor was pulled and manipulated he rushed in and delivered a few super speed punches in the openings. So far their plan seemed to be working. She opened them up and he punched. It was a complicated maneuver and took time and energy but it was all they had. He noticed a few of Roxy's arrows here and there, finding their mark. Her aim was getting better, it was good to see her practice was paying off.
"Time for something else to mess them up."
He said before moving his hands together in a blur. His hands went faster and faster before he shot them forward and a ball of energy flew out of the alley and hit a few oncoming Intergang members, sending them crashing into others. Rapidos looked past those he'd just knocked down and saw the other group coming that Roxy mentioned.
"Hulkling, question. Just how dense are your muscles. I have a plan, but it requires us to use ourselves like a super speed bowling ball."
While not a great plan, it was simple. Often times it was the simplest plans that worked best. If he held her hand he could impart on her some speed force, temporarily. That combined with her dense musculature could allow him to use her like a massive wrecking ball. It should do the trick to take them out.

Cassie’s question had been more directed at the Intergang members- not they really would have been listening. But how many people were there who were related to green shape-shifters and magicians? The only ones Cassie could think of were all related to one particular metal-bender. The rifle drop took Cassie by surprise- apparently the Intergang members must have had some sort of flying or climbing gear to get up onto the roof. It was definitely a good idea to have Robin above in that case; there was no point choosing a dead end for safety if they allowed the top to let all of them in.
”I think I might sadly have to text my brother to come soon. He could probably summon back your arrows, Robin.” Just as Cassie said that, she saw the explosive go off in the middle of the approaching people. Maybe that idea would have worked if she hadn't blown up half of the arrows. Nevertheless, back-up was probably a good plan and she’d rather her dweeb brother than a good number of other people. ”Just send him “Iwantwheremysisteris” and he should get the hint.”
Green? At least it was an apt description, even if being nick-named after a composer would have been pretty awesome. ”I’ll trust you on that.” She wasn't too concerned what he was saying, but she was still somewhat curious.
”Was anyone thinking this was too easy?” Were all the words Cassie could say in response to Robin’s warning. Just her- and actually most super-humans’- luck. It was a sign surely that the previous wave had just been grunts if the magnetic attack worked on them, but why did everyone have to have back-up?
Cassie was trying to get back the focus she had needed for the magnetic attack, so she took a few seconds before she was ready to attack again. She prepared to attack a few of the incoming members but by the time she was ready, Rapidos had already sent them back. It seemed unlikely they would stay back for long, however.
”Not very dense by default but I can buff up, if that’s what you want.” This was a far easier trick than shape-shifting into another person. She’d been shape-shifting highly frequently over the last hour or so, and it was –hopefully- a well-known fact that both Kree and Skrulls used up a huge amount of energy compared to humans. Adjusting her form would be far easier than taking a different one.
Thus she forced herself to acquire mass- not so quickly as she would have liked thanks to that last trick, but still fast enough to be noticeable. She reached out her hand to Rapidos, allowing him the ability to perform whatever he was planning. She braced herself for inevitable impact, assuming he would send her off as soon as he could.

She didn't really know her brother very well but if Cassie swore by him she likely wouldn't shoot him right away. Of course she had issues trusting people. Hell Enrique was still trying to earn her trust, he was nearly there. Well she'd never tell him that, she liked seeing him work. It was the same thing she did to every guy. She made them work, and work hard to earn her trust and prove they weren't like some of the guys from her past.
"I've got enough weapons for back up. Besides, I always did enjoy a challenge."
Ok so maybe she didn't have ALOT of back up weapons, just some birdarangs and shuriken. But she was more than ready for whatever came. She knew there were a few other arrows on the other side of the alley. Sure their piercing and accuracy might be damaged, but she'd make due. She noticed the fire escape beginning to melt more and fired a grappling arrow to the roof. She quickly climbed up, as the fire escape collapsed. She ran to the edge, looking down on the group. She resumed firing down into the street.
"You think there's any way we can get them to surrender? This would be a lot easier."
However as she over heard Rapidos' plan she stopped firing. She had a vague idea of just what they were planning and knew for one, her arrows wouldn't hurt them, but it could be a distraction. But she did have one way to assist them. She used a few flaming arrows and fired on the edges, driving the group in closer together.
"Rapidos try not to kill her. It's not often you meet a green chick. She-Hulk's don't grow on trees."

Cassie was right, this was almost too easy. Sure the three were working together exceptionally well as a team. However it still shouldn't have been this easy. This was Intergang after all, their weapons were far beyond even the finest Earth tech. If anything they should've made short work of three teenage heroes, but they didn't. If anything the heroes pretty much had them on the ropes. Of course now that the bulk of their muscle arrived it might not be so easy. He heard the escape collapse and quickly looked over to see the end of Roxy's cape as she disappeared over the edge of the roof.
"Buena niña."
He said before turning his attention back to the forces coming their way. Every now and then he would surge forward, deliver some punches and return. He waited for Cassie to bulk up, getting ready for his plan to attack. She trusted him, that was good.
"Brace yourself, and remember to breathe."
He said before taking her hand. He'd had the sensation described to him before but it could be different for everyone. But Cassie would feel her cells become supercharged and as her muscles began to open themselves up to the speed force. Everything around her aside from Rapidos would seem to slow down before freezing entirely.
"Here we go, just run."
He said before taking off in a blur. Even if she didn't run he'd likely end up dragging her behind him. He ran quickly, dodging the weaker targets before the main bulk of the army came into view, pushed together thanks to Roxy. As they ran he prepared himself and began to drive his shoulders and fists into anything he could. Their speed alone coupled with her density would be enough to take them out. As soon as they made contact the enemies began to go flying. He was faintly aware of a few arrows on either side but was focused on the big armored group.
