May had spoken with some of Edward Church's teachers. While the rest of the family's relationships were questionable May wouldn't let that slide. She'd taken special interest with Edward and wanted to ensure he did better. Also it was partially because she'd put her own reputation on the line to get him out. She was still paying off some of those favors she'd called in. She got him out of the jail and wanted to ensure he didn't end up in some mutant prison or recruited by the Brotherhood. She knew that was always a chance because, well it simply always was a chance. Hell she'd been raised well and she was now working for the Suicide Squad and hunting down rogue heroes and villains. While his studies seemed to be going pretty well, maybe not as well as she'd liked, but well, he wasn't a Howlett yet. Ask anyone and the Wolverine family was known for their fighting skills and were second to only a handful of people. May would ensure he was the same way. After all he could one day be carrying the Howlett name, should he so choose and earn it. She'd called him down to the Danger Room when she knew his classes were done. She was going to run through a special training session her mother had run her through. She remembered how miserable it was, but it was for the best. She was waiting in the Danger Room, wearing a version of her mom's old uniform. It was the same one she'd trained in when she was a student. While still snug she made a few slices on the sides and along the thighs to help her breathe more. Plus she always enjoyed showing skin. However she had never been up to her mom's uniform level of bikini top and low rise hip huggers. Sure she'd wear that on a free day, but not so much when it came to combat. The room was still just the bare shell, ready for a simulation to be run. May sat against one wall, reading one of her psych text books. She tapped her foot against the floor, listening to the iPod in her ears. She glanced down at her phone and rolled her eyes. He was late, that wouldn't do. She might need to beat some manners into him, but that was later. She'd been looking at files and so forth, but she wanted to see what he was capable of. Sure she could go with a straight up fight, but she had a feeling she'd destroy him. While he seemed like a good brawler, definitely something Grandpa Logan would appreciate, he was also brash and raw. He needed work, refinement. She lifted her head as she heard the doors slide open and sighed. "About time Eddie."

Edward wasn't entirely sure what @spidergirl wanted him for. All he really knew about her was that she was his...something or other. She hadn't made the relation too clear. They'd talked a bit, but it wasn't like they'd shared life stories. Not that they needed to, he was guessing. She probably knew more about him than his own mother did by this point. Or at least that was the vibe he got from her and the very school itself. He didn't feel like he had many secrets from any of the staff here. If he was honest, he didn't mind the Academy itself. It was more fun than regular school, at least. He didn't think he was doing too badly in classes, and the people didn't seem too bad. He was slightly more apprehensive about going to this "Danger Room". While he'd never been in there before, he'd heard about it, and well, the name alone was pretty unnerving. Nome of the students would tell him what it was, exactly, but he got the impression it would hurt. Well that was just great. But May had called him there, and she was family. She wouldn't be trying to hurt him...right?
It didn’t look like he was going to be getting a break today. Classes had barely ended and he was on his way to see May. Still, considering what had happened to him last time he’d had free time, maybe that wasn’t too bad. He doubted she was going to throw him through a window. Hopefully. He wasn’t going to deny being nervous about this, but it wasn’t too bad. His claws weren’t threatening to make an appearance, at the very least. He was dressed pretty casually, not expecting anything too strenuous to be happening. He always made sure to wear clothes that could stand a little wear and tear, such as elasticated jeans with a fair bit of flex in them, and normally muscle shirts under his regular shirts.
He stepped through the doors of the so-called Danger Room, and when he saw May, took a second to remind himself that they were related. It was needed. He then looked around the room. It didn’t look like much. Or anything at all. Just an empty room. He then realised she was looking at him, and she seemed impatient. He got the feeling he’d kept her waiting. “Just now got your message,” he said with a shrug, and then also went to lean against one of the walls. “What do you want to see me about, exactly?”

With him finally coming in she knew now was the time for the real fun to begin. He seemed to have basic combat skills, or so his teachers had said. But he'd need more. The family had enemies, a lot of them, and it was only a matter of time before one of them took out a grudge on him. After all he was the perfect target. Less formal training, and a direct child of Wolverine. She closed her book and stood up. She quickly tied her hair back in a ponytail and stretched.
"Hope you're not too attached to those clothes. That's why we use uniforms. But hey, your call."
She said going to a computer terminal attached to the wall. She began to quickly type, a light smirk on her lips.
"If you're going to be part of this family then you'll need to learn to fight like it. Your father spent a long life making enemies."
The room they were in shifted to that of a dense forest. A loud roar could be heard in the distance and she let out a smirk. She quickly hopped up into a tree.
"I want to see how you do against Sabretooth. Don't worry, he won't kill you. However injuries are real, so be careful."
She said pulling a cigar out and lighting it. She puffed a bit before looking down at him.
"And don't worry trying to find him, he likely has already found you. Use your senses and your brains. You can't go toe to toe with him."

Too attached to these clothes? After reminding himself again of their relation, Edward began to wonder what she meant. He guessed he was about to see why they called it the Danger Room. He cocked his head as she began to type, and he started feeling just the beginnings of worry. Learn to fight like part of their family? This was sounding more and more ominous. And that smirk definitely didn't help things. "What the hell is-" he began, but stopped as the room changed to a forest. He stepped back in surprise. "What on earth? That's...that's... Where are we?" He looked to May, hoping to get some answers. But that didn't matter as he heard the roar, and then his eyes were watering as his claws pushed their way out of his skin.
Edward turned to face the direction of the roar, his claws outstretched in front of him. He looked back to May, wondering if she was going to try and help him at all, and he saw she was in a tree, smoking a cigar. Well then, that told him something. He snapped his head back to face in front of him, scanning the trees. And then May spoke, and he realised. This was some sort of training exercise. Just apparently one he could be seriously injured in, that was fun. "Sabretooth?" he asked, the name meaning nothing to him. Was it Sabretooth who'd made that roar? Well, whoever it was, Edward didn't think they could be that tough. Especially not for May, who'd never seen him fight, to judge.
True to May's words, after a minute or so, Edward could hear something moving around. Something big, and fast. Well then. He looked back to May, and decided that she'd had something of the right idea. He ran to a tree and threw himself into the lower branches, and then started to haul himself into higher ones. He was two or three metres up now. Only enough to maybe wind him if he landed badly. And maybe enough to give him the element of surprise, or at the very least a height advantage. He felthimself trusting May enough to believe this Sabretooth was tough, and he was taking her advice at least slightly.

May laughed lightly as he also climbed into a tree. She simply shook her head and leaned against the trunk watching. Of course the program was designed to not recognize her. Namely because it'd be hard for him to learn anything if Sabretooth was going after her the whole time. She puffed the cigar, blowing the smoke towards him, laughing lightly. Sabretooth stepped into the clearing and sniffed the air, turning towards Edward.
"If you're going to pounce now is the time Eddie."
She said with a laugh. Sabretooth wouldn't notice the smoke or May's voice. The smoke was to teach him to use his senses to filter through all the smells for what he was really looking for. He stopped at the base of the tree, sniffing and looking up. He began to use his claws to climb the tree.
"Lucky. When I went through this he straight up jumped into the tree. Now's the time to act Eddie."
She said, just watching and puffing on her cigar. Sure she should've gone easier, but what was the fun in that. That simply wasn't the way the family operated. They didn't go the easy route, they did what needed to be done. Of course she hadn't told Eddie that once Sabretooth drew blood twice the simulation would end. He was also programmed to avoid arteries for obvious reasons.

Edward remained low on his tree branch, balancing easily without wobbling or needing to hang onto something. He watched as the...person, whatever they were, entered the clearing. Edward nervously flexed his fingers, then balled them into fists, his claws at the ready. Sabretooth, sure, he looked like an animal of some kind, but he couldn't be that tough. He was only one guy. Edward had once been in a fight with four guys at once. Sure, he'd hadn't come out too well, especially since he couldn't use his claws, but he'd still put one guy out for the count and sent another running. He could take this Sabretooth, especially if he had the element of surprise.
The element of surprise that he promptly lost as soon as Sabretooth sniffed the air and turned to face him. As the man began to climb the tree, Edward turned to shoot a glare in @spidergirl's direction. "Where the hell did the name Eddie come from?" Still, she had a point. As Sabretooth began to climb the tree, Edward moved to the end of the limb he was standing on, and jumped at Sabretooth, his claws slicing down. He was interrupted with a blow to the face that felt like it could take his head off, and he was thrown backwards, hitting the floor. He was only slightly winded, but his face felt like it had been by a sledgehammer. Sabretooth, for his part, dropped from the tree, and started to move back towards him. Edward forced himself to his feet, and, after checking his claws, ran at the other man again. He slashed at Sabretooth, and was rewarded with a strike to the wrist that knocked his hand to one side. He then ducked under a blow, and that was when he noticed the claws. Well, damn. He tried to swing again, but his wrist was struck again, and as he felt the skin split and blood flow, he felt something go. It'd be fine in maybe thirty seconds, but until then, it was out of action. He desperately swung with the other arm, and was rewarded by his claws scraping the side of his opponent. He knew there was no hope for this fight, however. Sabretooth was too strong and too fast, and he fought better. Still, he tried again, and this time his wrist was grabbed and twisted and he was pulled close and...
He felt the claws enter his stomach, and then as he fell back, he saw the forest disappear around him. No trees, no dirt floor, no Sabretooh. But the five cuts in his stomach were real, and he could feel blood leaking from them. He curled up into a ball, and could feel tears on his cheeks. It wasn't the worst pain he'd felt, but it was bad. "May," he managed to choke out as he tried to keep still, tried to let the healing do its work. He'd be fine in no time at all. But until then...

"I don't like the name Edward. So it's Eddie or another variety of adorably annoying nicknames we all grew up with."
She herself had been called a wide variety of names, all of which she hated. But she put up with it until she earned the right to be called by her real name. Hell one had tried calling her Talon but that didn't end well. Primarily because that was her mom's name and no one used that name but her. There would only be one Talon in this school's history, May would see to it. A few students had tried and after a 'calm' discussion with them, they changed their minds.
She watched as Eddie tried to fight him off and did better than she expected he would. Of course he ended up like everyone else that went through this first scenario. On the floor, in a puddle of his own blood. She crouched down beside him and sighed, cigar still in her mouth.
"Relax Eddie. Let your healing factor do its job. We'll need to work on your pain tolerance as well. But you did fine."
She said before sitting down beside him cross legged. She began to draw swirls in the blood, not even feeling weird about it. She had grown up surrounded by blood and thought nothing of it. If anything she was weirded out when a day DIDN'T involve blood. She knew there were a multitude of conditions that signified but didn't really want to look into it.
"My mother made me run this same simulation when I was about 13...maybe younger. I ended up with a slit throat and a claw mark on my back. Not the ideal way to find marks on my back, I assure you. I knew you'd fail. Even your father had trouble fighting Sabretooth."
She knew it was cruel to make him go through this, it was cruel when it happened to her. However it was also necessary. The family was known to fight and they needed to be ready to fight at a moment's notice.

Edward was dimly aware of May's voice, but he wasn't too sure what she was saying. It felt comforting, however. He was too busy focussing on the five holes in his stomach to pay attention. They weren't as bad as he feared, but they weren't good. Sabretooth's claws had gone straight through the skin and thin layer of fat, and stabbed into the muscle in his abdomen. If Edward focussed, he could almost feel the tissue knitting back together. Within maybe thirty seconds he'd be right as rain. But right now, blood was still leaking from him, staining his clothes, his hands, and the floor. So whatever had just happened had been some training simulation. It looked like he'd been wrong when he'd thought May wouldn't hurt him.
After maybe another twenty seconds, Edward felt the pain ebb, and he got to his feet. The wounds had only been open for thirty or forty seconds at the most, yet there was a definite puddle of blood where he'd been laying. "What the hell was that?" he asked angrily. He didn't like it when people tricked him. Especially not when he got hurt. He listened to her, but he still glared. "Your mother made you do it? So it's like a family tradition? Great." He was absolutely dripping sarcasm there. He was angry. He was angry at her, the school, and, however irrational it was, the hologram or whatever the hell it'd been. Although he didn't think holograms could stab you. "Does every student get to try that out?" he asked, sounding less sarcastic and just more angry by this point. May had comforted him when he was healing, but now he was definitely over that. He lifted his shirt slightly, just to check the skin, and yep, there was nothing there. Nothing apart from blood everywhere to suggest he'd been stabbed. He let his shirt drop, and then started to pace angrily. His claws were threatening to make a reappearance if he didn't get a grip.
"What now?" he asked, trying and failing to keep his tone level, "You going to run that again? Get me all clawed up?" It was ridiculous, but there was a part of Edward that wanted another go. A small part, and one that was outweighed by the common sense telling him not to challenge May here. But he couldn't shake the anger that he hadn't fought on his own terms and that he had lost. But again, a very small part of him. "Or are we done here?"

She knew he'd be angry and didn't really blame him. She was pissed when she faced him and hadn't ended as well. So she simply sat there quietly, listening to his rant while he healed. She gave a light laugh as he mentioned it being some sort of strange family tradition. He was right though, it had become one. Sabretooth was one of, if not THE toughest person Wolverine had ever fought. So she'd been fed to him just like he was to see what she was capable of.
"Stop yelling and shut your mouth. This family has made a wide variety of enemies. One of the top enemies being him, Sabretooth. He's been hunting my grandfather, your father, for close to 100 years. I don't know if he survived the Battle but without seeing a body I assume he did. I want you to know what you might end up facing."
She said with a puff of her cigar. She flicked some of the blood off her fingers and shook her head. She got that he was mad. Hell she hadn't spoken to her mother for a week after she'd been put in this scenario. It didn't end well for her, just as her mother grandfather knew it wouldn't.
"Next we start simple. I have already told your teachers, I'm taking over your combat training. You're Howlett damn it, you have a reputation to uphold."
She said standing up and stretching. She extinguished the cigar on the palm of her hand. This served two purposes. On one she put it out and two it showed him he'd need to learn to handle pain as she did it with barely flinching. She put the cigar in a small pouch on her belt and went over to the computer. The lights went out and when they came back it was a simple city street.
"Your mission is simple. Escort me from one end of the street to the other. If I get injured we need to start over. If you get injured, you'll still continue. Now escort me Eddie."

Edward's glare only intensified as May told him to shut up. He wasn't exactly enjoying family time, to say the least. As if getting his arse handed to him wasn't bad enough, he now had to deal with May acting all...superior. And that wasn't something he liked. "Are the other enemies as tough?" he asked, trying to sound reasonable despite his anger, "Because I didn't see you rushing to fight Sabretooh just now." His claws were still threatening to show up, and that was his main reason for keeping his temper. May was already acting superior enough without him looking like he wasn't in control.
"You've taken over my fight training?" Edward asked, trying not to sound surprised. "They just let you do that?" He wasn't sure how he felt about that. Combat training had been pretty easy beforehand. He knew how to handle himself, which was more than a lot of students. With his cousin, however, he was by far the worst fighter in the room. Which was another thing he didn't like. "As in all of it?" So she clearly had some special interest in him. Maybe being family wasn't the best thing. But then again...maybe he'd improve with May. Get better. And who knew, they might actually develop some sort of bond. If she stopped getting him hurt quite so often. He actually winced as she stubbed the cigar out on her hand. Those things got pretty hot. He knew it was just some power play thing, but well...it was doing its job. Not that he'd ever admit that.
Edward was taken by surprise again as the scene changed. He was half expecting the jungle, and Sabretooth again. But nope, this time they were on some street. "Where are we?" he asked, and the nodded as she told him what he had to do. An escort mission? Well, he'd never attempted one of those before, but he'd protected people before. Friends. The fundamentals couldn't be too different. "Okay," he shrugged, "Start walking." He started moving as well, basically trying to keep level with her so he could meet any threat. His eyes watered again as his claws forced their way back out, and now he felt pretty confident that he could take anything the simulation threw at him. Still, he was keeping his ears peeled, looking left and right, and sniffing at the air, anything that could tell him what direction an attack might come from. "Will you fight?" he asked, "Or do I need to defend you?"

She rolled her eyes and tried to hide back the laugh. With that attitude he was definitely a Howlett. He was angry and against any form of rules and anyone who was a superior. Yeah, he'd fit in perfectly with the family. She was actually impressed and even a little proud. She knew her mom would one day be proud to call him brother.
"I didn't rush because it wasn't my scenario. He would've literally gone right through me. The scenario is designed to ignore everyone but the target, you. As for toughenss, well that could be argued. I mean there's your brother, my uncle, Akihiro who hates your father and seems to be hit and miss on the family. I mean there's Cyber and Omega Red who are both equally deadly. Then there are stories about some guy named Romulus Grandpa and my mom never liked talking about, which is concerning."
She said with a shrug. She wanted to know about Romulus but everything was always locked and banned to her. It made it very difficult to learn about potential threats when they wouldn't let her learn. As he questioned the fighting training she shook her head, laughing a bit.
"I am a substitute teacher her when needed. Not to mention a lot of the faculty doesn't like to train our family. That is likely because we're arrogant assholes, just a theory, a very good theory in my opinion. Plus I am one of the best combatants here. Not to mention you're my responsibility."
Of course she also had to use her beauty and feminine charms to take over his training but she left that out. He didn't need to know so much about her just yet. After all she'd like to leave some mystery to their relationship for now. Sure her sleeping around was far from a secret, but she didn't want him knowing. With a light laugh she began walking, arms crossed.
"No, I won't fight. If I could defend myself this exercise would be pointless. Primarily because I'm a superior combatant."
While egotistical it was true. Not to mention she also had more claws and they adamantium along with her skeleton. She knew the threats coming, they were nothing. Toad appeared on a roof top before jumping down towards the road, his tongue shooting out towards her.

Edward frowned as May rolled her eyes and laughed. He wasn't entirely sure what she was finding so amusing, but then again, he wasn't sure he ever had any idea what she was thinking. It wasn't like they knew each other well, but his cousin/niece/something was a pretty confusing person. Still, she seemed happier, possibly? Like she was finding something funny, or positive? Well that was a change, and he hoped it was a good one.
"Could you take him?" Edward asked, interested to hear the answer. He was still a bit sore after what she'd put him through. "In the simulation, or in real life, could you take Sabretooth?" He cocked his head as May listed a large number of enemies. Seems like his family was almost as adept at pissing people off as he himself was. Well, that should be fun. Especially if each of them were as tough as Sabretooth. "Or any of those people you just listed. Omega Red or Cyber or any of them. Could you take them?" He deliberately avoided mentioning this brother of his. That had been one hell of a revelation, and although he'd contained his reaction, he wasn't sure how he felt like it. It was ridiculous, as they were hardly a normal family, but he was used to being an only child. He'd never thought about siblings.
He nodded as she told him about her officially being his teacher for fight training. Well, if all these simulations were like the last one, this was going to be just great. His eyes narrowed again at the arrogant asshole comment. He hadn't thought that his teachers had disliked him, but it was no big deal to him. "What do you teach?" he asked, kind of hoping he didn't end up with May substituting for him someday. It always sucked when you were related to the teacher. Plus he was just kind of making small talk as they walked along the street.
Edward was about to sarcastically reply to May's comment about being a superior combatant when he spotted somebody on a rooftop. So, this was the first person who was going to try to attack. He was surprised by the jump, and then by the tongue, but he didn't hesitate with slashing out with his claws. A good few feet of tongue that had been reaching for May dropped, blood leaking from it, and Edward took a second to stare, but then he was advancing towards the figure. The tongue lashed out again, and he dodged to one side, rapidly closing the gap

As he asked if she could take some of her grandfather's greatest enemies she had to stop and think about it. She tapped her chin thinking before shrugging lightly.
"Umm, Sabretooth maybe. As for Cyber or Omega Red I might have a better chance. Then there's Deadpool, I wouldn't mind going toe to toe with him. Not sure I could kill him but I'm pretty sure I could distract him long enough to get a decent shot."
She said with a shrug. Of course she'd thought about it, who wouldn't have? Anyone in this family had to look at a high profile combatant and wonder if you could take them. If the answer was no then you had to go back to training and train harder to ensure you could defeat them if the time came. She noticed he was making small talk, good move. Whether it was to keep the potential target at ease or just for the sake of conversation she wasn't sure.
"Well I'm a sub so I fill in when needed. I usually teach combat, survival skills, which I will be teaching you as well. I also help with those who have enhanced senses and agility based abilities as well as Intro to Psychology. I am more than just a pretty face who can beat most people."
She said with a laugh. She simply stood there and watched as he lashed out at the tongue. She was impressed, it was perfect. However, then he took off after Toad. Playing the role of terrified Damsel in Distress she took off running. She headed across the street and towards an alley, shrieking in fear. She hated this part but it worked. As she ran she felt the familiar weird grip as Magneto lifted her into the air.
'Lose something little pup? Perhaps we should ensure she stays in one place....'
The car in front of them warped into a giant ball of metal spikes as Magneto crushed it down, the sharp pieces of metal sticking out. With a flick of the wrist she was slammed onto it, the metal remains of the car shooting out her back, arms and legs. The scenario didn't fade though. It stayed there so he could see a direct result of his actions.

Edward wasn't listening to her words as he cut the figure out of the air, mid-jump. He didn't care as he stabbed his claws into the head of the mutant, as it was just a hologram, still, he gave it another slash, just because. He was about to respond to May, but then he heard her scream, and saw her take off running. He was confused. What the hell was she doing? He started to run after her, calling her name, but then she was lifted into the air. He looked frantically for whoever was doing it, and saw the man just as he started to speak. He sprinted towards the, but then the car was turned into a ball of spikes, and slammed into May.
"NO!" He screamed, a sound of genuine pain and anguish. He couldn't imagine how much pain May was in right now. "NO!" He ran towards the horribly speared and lacerated form of his cousin, and it almost turned his stomach, and there were genuine tears on his face. Why wasn't the simulation ending? But then he saw just how bad it was, and he forgot all about it being a sim. He forgot completely that the man who had hurt May was a hologram. All he cared about was getting to the man who had hurt her and making him pay.
Without thinking what he was doing, he started to sprint. Away from May, and towards the man. He just wanted to hit and slash and kick and tear and cause pain. There were tears leaking from his eyes still, but he just felt anger and hatred. He wanted to kill. Why hadn't the fucking simulation stopped yet? Why was May just left there, bleeding on the car?
He kept running, and when he thought he was close enough, he swung. He didn't care for his own safety, or for May's, or for the mission. He just wanted to cause pain.

May hated doing this to him but she knew it had to be done. It was the same reason she had him fight Sabretooth while having no idea just what he was up against. By the time the rest of the family were his age they understood that every action can have a consequence. As he went after Magneto, who simply stood there and made a barrier May pulled herself off the debris.
"End simulation."
He said as mercifully the ball she was on faded and she fell to the ground. She sat up, holding one of the many holes that was closing. She brushed some hair from her face and reached into her pocket. She pulled out what was left of her cigar and sighed.
"I knew that was going to happen."
She said with a groan before looking over at Edward. The door was set to only unlock to her command, something she picked up from her mom. Namely since he would either attack her or run out. She had her money set on him running out but wasn't entirely sure. Then again she also really hoped that was the case. Primarily because she wasn't in the mood to fight him just now. Sure she'd defend herself, but didn't want to risk hurting him.
"You started off strong Edward, but then you abandoned me."
