May had been relaxing at Mount Justice with the rest of her squad when the alert came in for a rogue hero. She quickly changed and ran with her squad to the waiting jet. May glanced over at @madrox as they all buckled in. Her mask was tucked into her glove and she began going over the profile of their next target.
"Feeling up for a challenge Tempus? Feel like guessing?"
She asked with a smile as she held the file up. It was pretty much a way for them to blow off steam. They knew she read the file first and then planned everything else. But she liked playing a little game to help ease everyone's tension. She listened as guesses were yelled out and shook her head before flipping it open.
"F*ck.... It's a member of Batman Inc."
They all knew what that meant. Batman Inc had only chosen some of the best. Sure everyone on this squad was tough as hell and could handle damn near anything. However, this was someone who was allowed to carry the Batman Inc title, definitely a rarity.
"Seems he cut off contact and is carving out a little niche for himself with an army. Every gang in the territory is listening to him and SHIELD can't have that. We're to take him out, by any means necessary."
May hated reading that. Sure she was a Howlett and could take out anyone. But in cases like this it was rough. This guy was a former hero who took a nasty turn, like her mother had.
"We're going to try and take him alive if we can."
She said, ignoring the groans of disappointment from some members and rolled her eyes. May began to plan and organize a battle strategy as they neared the warehouse he was using as a base. They all stepped out onto a roof across from the warehouse and observed. They were numerous guards all around there and May slid her mask on.
"Tempus, you and I are taking the front door. The rest of you enter the top floor. Our target is in a basement vault, heavily armed and extremely dangerous. Try not to kill anyone. Go."
She said before using a web and swinging down with Rayne. She unsheathed her claws and quickly made her way to the door. The guards were fools. They hadn't expected anyone to actually try to front door so they mostly ignored it. With a quick slash she cut the lock off and stepped inside. As soon as they entered she noticed all the guns pointing at her on numerous levels.
"So that's why the door wasn't heavily guarded...."

Rayne had found herself in a small nook of Mount Justice, all secluded so she could write in her journal. Usually she was big on hanging out and enjoying the company, but her personal journal needed sorely updated. She had two of them the keep up on. One that she carried on her at most times, telling the tales of her adventures. She just liked re-reading them. The other was the one she kept so that she knew what she's done already and what she might not have. A way to keep her from getting too confused. However, at the moment, she was writing in the personal journal, not the other one. However, when the alarm sounded, she was quick to shut that journal, toss it into her locker, and pretty much port herself into the jet.
Buckling herself in close to May, she grinned at the squad leader. "Spider Babe, I'm always up for a challenge!" she teased, just waiting for the inevitable slap. "Alright, let's see. I'm gonna say that it's gonna be some low-life villain they're waiting to force into recruitment!" she chirped, just waiting to be told she was right. She had to be right, right? Actually, she was usually wrong, but that was besides the point. You would think the girl who could time travel would know everything!
One of the men beside her almost started to argue with her but she rolled her eyes and looked at May. Rayne knew was always right... Excecpt for when she wasn't. "... Batman Inc. No, you had to have read that wrong... right?" She asked, her fingers curling around her belt. Batman Inc. never had 'rogue' members. They were usually so good at keeping things like that under wraps! Something wasn't right about this. Then again, maybe she just thought too highly of Batman. Besides, if it's a rough Inc. member, then that meant they might be infringing upon Batman himself. Actually, this might be fun. She would get to actually meet The Bat! Oooh, that would be fun. She always wanted to see under that cowl.
Rayne shifted to point her fingers out like guns at one of the squad members. "Pew pew! Even if ya gotta shoot! Somethin' like this could be dangerous. Nothing we can't handle, right boys?" she asked with a laugh before blowing over her fingers. A small muttering of weary agreement from some of them filter the silence.
Rayne winced at that word, though. Alive. Right... not dead, alive. "We'll try not to kill him. Knees and shoulders work just as well for targets." Of course, not all of them used a gun but some of them did. Like her. Actually, she used a variety of weapons but guns. She liked guns. And a bullet to the kneecaps would be an easy way to take him down. Rayne was a reckless sort though. She didn't care about the consequences, just the job.
As Tempus, Rayne put on a small mask over her eyes. Not really to disguise who she was. She just thought it looked cool. She also checked her weapons quick before following May's orders. The front door. Ah yes, always the best place to start. She was disappointed in the words "try not to kill anyone" but she supposed she could try. Especially if she was going to be with the leader. Rayne could have been a squad leader. Damn, why won't they let her?
She hugged May's side tight as they swung to the door. Still several feet above, she let go of May, grabbing her guns and landing gingerly on her feet, bending her knees to make sure she would be fine. She leveled the guns, looking around. Nothing? That was disappointing. At least until May slashed the lock and they ran inside. Wowza, that was a lot of fire power.
Rayne knew she could easily port around this room without even a small fraction of time passing. It would be seemingly instantaneous. "Ya sure we can't kill 'em?" she asked, though she knew that answer. With a wink, she ported, going from spot to spot, trying not to waste any ammo as she started to get some of the attention on her. Knees, elbows, arms, legs, all breakable. Necks, all open, ready for a chop chop chop! This was gonna be fun! "C'mon slow pokes, catch me if ya caaan!" she chided as she tried taking down as many as she can before her energies ran out or she had to waste a bullet.

A rogue member and the Suicide Squad was after them. This was definitely not something that was good. Sure SHIELD was likely to keep it quiet, namely since a rogue hero was a bad image. But the idea of them having something over Batman Inc wouldn't do. Thomas didn't like it, not just because it tarnished his father's reputation, but everyone knew SHIELD would use this information over them as a sort of blackmail device. Of course knowing Rayne's squad was going JJ quickly volunteered to act as a representative. Sure he made an argument about how as the head of representative relations this was his job. Of course no one else seemed to call him out so he was fine with it.
He suited up and borrowed the Bat-plane and headed to the warehouse. When he arrived he noticed the SHIELD plane idling and the computer followed all of the targets, heading to the warehouse.
"I hate being late..."
He grumbled.
"Herald, hack into the SHIELD jet and disable it. We can't let them leave with the target."
'Agreed.'
He said as the jet hovered over the warehouse. He dropped down out of the bottom, wrapping his cape around himself and smashing through the skylight. he spread his arms out, using the cape to slow his descent into the warehouse. He landed in the middle in silence, his cape around him as he took in the scene. May was fighting, he picked out Rayne teleporting around, taking people out. He quickly leaned to the left, dodging a swinging pipe. He stayed in one spot just leaning around as he dodged the man swinging the pipe wildly. He caught the pipe in one hand and delivered a tough kick to the skull and watched the man collapse in a heap. He felt a pressure on his back and noticed someone had shot him with a shot gun. He turned around and saw a small man holding a shotgun.
"Cute."
He said, activating his voice modulator and pulling two escrima sticks out from under his cape. He twirled them as he surged forward. He managed to dodge repeated blasts before using one stick to hit the barrel straight up into his head, dropping him. He turned and proceeded to make his way to where the man was hiding. He quickly took out anyone who got near him, wanting to waste no time. Of course he was also doing his best to ensure Rayne had a chance to see him.

May unsheathed her top claws and looked around carefully. She began examining the situation, looking for an ideal route to take, until Rayne began teleporting around. She shook her head and sighed. Typical Rayne, jumping in head first and attacking anyone and everyone.
"Try not to get killed Tempus!"
She yelled before rushing at a group of gun men. She ignored the bullets hitting her and in some cases bouncing off her bones. She slashed the barrels off three rifles before delivering a hard elbow across the heads of all three. She turned and began to move towards more until she noticed the glass falling. She shielded herself from the glass as Blue Bat landed.
"Great, we got a Bat."
She grabbed her communicator.
"Don't let the Bat reach the target. SHIELD wants us to capture him, not the Bats."
'Sorry Spider Girl. We're not letting him out of our family.'
Came Herald's voice over the communicator. She sighed and rushed forward, slashing at anything that came close. She wasn't going for fatal shots however. But she was cutting barrels and fingers off or slicing tendons, anything to stop them. She fired a web and swung to a stop in front of Blue Bat.
"Stand down civilian. This is a HuRTs operation. Leave now or we'll be forced to charge you with interfering in our operation."

"Awww, Spideyyyy, I'm so touched! You're actually worried about me. How cute is that! Don't you worry baaay-beeeee, I won't get myself killed!" she laughed as she took out the knees of one of the men aiming for her leader. She followed that up by smashing her elbow into his face before beginning to port away. She'd just narrowly been hit with a bullet, it grazing her left arm and that just annoyed her far too much. Her eyes narrowed as she tried to spot the gunman. He was gonna pay for that one!
Before she really had the opportunity, though, glass started to fall all around them and she had to port out of the way so that it wouldn't hit her. Who was that? She knew it was one of the Bat Family, but that didn't really say much. All she knew was that it wasn't the Bat that she had honestly been hoping for. Aww well, everyone has their dreams that must be crushed eventually, right? "I can see that, Spider Babe," she grumbled. Although she didn't quite know why she was seemingly upset about that. After all, a Bat in their midst just meant she got to have a little more fun. Oooh, she wished suddenly that she had brought one of her cutlasses! That would have made this that much better.
At May's command, she ported up behind Blue Bat, turning to keep her back to his, though not touching it. Her guns drawn, she fired a few shots into the hands of some of the lowlife's trying to shoot at her. She didn't have many bullets left in those magazines, however. She took that moment to dip down low and twist around, trying to hook her foot in front of the big bad Bat's in order to get him down while she reloaded her pistols. "Sorry, Bat Boy, but like the Babe said, this is a HuRTs gig. No Bat's allowed."
((Blarg x__x it's so short. i'm sooooo sorry))

JJ stopped as May landed in front of him. He did his best to not laugh in her face as she commanded him to stand down. Everyone, Thomas especially, knew he didn't take orders well. He had a tendency to do his own thing, always had. When she was done with her rant he simply stared at her calmly.
'Got that out of your system now Spider-Girl?'
He was quickly aware of Rayne behind him. He knew her scent anywhere. A faint ancient scent, mixed with buring, hair dye and whatever scent she decided to use. Whether it was from shampoo, soap, lotion or all three he wasn't entirely sure. But now that scent was mixed with gunpowder. He heard her firing stop and felt her drop down. Giving a quick no handed cartwheel he easily avoided the foot, landing back in the same position he'd been in.
'I hope that wasn't your best darling. But I do love the hair.'
He still had his eyes locked with May as he noticed one man making a run for it. With a quick flick of the wrist a bird-a-rang hit him in the back of the head, sending him sprawling to the ground.
'Ignore Herald. I'm here to help. Of course the target's likely long gone by now. If my guess is correct, and it is, he's trying to hotwire your jet. He'll soon learn Herald has it locked down and will make a break for it. So do try to keep up.'
He said before turning around and giving Rayne's butt a quick pinch before firing a line from his fist and up to the window he'd just come through and pulling him up to the roof.
'Firm!'
He yelled down to Rayne with a laugh. He gave a quick flip and landed on the roof, making a break for it and ignoring the rest of the Suicide Squad trying to stop him.

His arrogance was going to be extremely annoying. Sure she was used to arrogance, being arrogant herself but this was an entirely different level of arrogance. Either way it was annoying. Was this how others felt around her? No of course not. They loved her, how could they not. She was brilliant tough and hot. Of course everyone loved being around her.
"There's no way he could get out of here with us surrounding the place."
She said with a sneer. She silently cursed Rayne's failed attempt at tripping him up. It would've been ideal to see him on his ass. But apparently she wasn't going to get that lucky. No, instead he dodged it like one would expect a Bat to do. She was about to give him more than a piece of her mind, her claws aching to pierce that stupid armor on his body. She groaned as he fired a line up and out the broken sky light.
"Why do I feel like there's a case of copyright infringement there?"
She asked as she saw him go up and out. She fired a web of her own and followed him to the roof.
"Tempus, after me. The rest of you keep this place on lock down just in case boy blue is lying to us."
She took off running after him, fists clenched and claws ready to be unleashed. She knew she'd be getting yelled at when she got back home. First the guy may or may not have gotten away. Plus Blue Bat interfered and she just let it happen. Hell not only that she let one of her teammates get felt up in the process.

If you get the chance you better keep her Oh that was cute, was he calling her darlin'? The little Bat was already so amusing. Too bad, this wasn't a mission that would really affect him. Oh no, this mission was for the Suicide Squad. Don't let May hear her calling it that, though, she might get upset. She never did seem to care too much for the name 'Suicide Squad'. No, she always insisted on using SHIELD's name for the team: HuRTs. But Rayne knew better. Every crook and half-witted chaos lover on the team knew it too. Sure, there was the occasional goody who found there way to them, but that wasn't usually the case. "Oh, if I was tryin' my best, sweetie, you'd be on the ground beggin' me to never let you up,”" she cooed, even throwing him a wink as she got back up properly to her feet. She was quick to reload her guns, ready to turn and aim them at him only to jump at her rear being pinched. "Hey hey, mister! The booty is off limits!" she practically growled, firing a shot up at him as he grappled up through the skylight. She rolled her eyes and let out an almost annoyed sounding groan. "You know, I knew we'd end up with a bat problem. Why didn't we bring the repellent spray?" she asked, turning her gaze over towards May as she blindly fired a bullet right into one of the few men left's knee. She moved towards him without much of a thought to ram her elbow down hard into his head in order to knock him out cold before she glanced up to the skylight again. Well, she was on orders, wasn't she? With a simple thought, she had ported up there, though it took about a moment for her to appear. It was out of her direct line of sight, making it actually take time. That was always a nuisance. But hey, it was a nuisance she could live with. Her guns were quick to point at the Blue Bat when she was up on the roof. "Alright, Mister, if you don't stop interfering with government business, I'm afraid I'll have ta cuff ya. Please give me a reason to, because something tells me you'd be fun in a pair of handcuffs," she chuckled before looking towards May and clearing her throat. "I mean... Spidergirl, orders?"398 | @spidergirl, TNG Staff | I couldn't not make a bat-repellent joke... |

Oh there were so many lines to make in response to Rayne. Sure they had some fun in their banter when they were off duty. But this type of banter was entirely different. But at the same time Rayne wasn't an idiot and if he used a few certain lines she'd put two and two together. But the temptation was strong, which was part of the reason he left so quickly. He looked down at her as she yelled at him.
'Well give me enough time and nothing is off limits sweetheart.'
He yelled down. He felt the bullet ricochet off his chest plate and knew he'd have a nasty bruise there later. He landed on the roof and stopped dead in his tracks as Rayne appeared in front of him, guns drawn. With a light, augmented chuckle he crossed his arms.
'Well there's really only way to find out. What say we go capture this guy and celebrate? I'll even pretend like I can't break out of them.'
Ok, he wasn't entirely certain about certain aspects of their past. That had been a crazy couple weeks that he didn't fully remember. It wasn't unusual for him to wake up naked somewhere with her in a strange position and no memory of getting there. Of course shortly after their fun and when a real relationship began forming she killed their relationship. He always felt like they never fully explored their potential relationship. But of course mentioning that to her would likely result in either a fight or her brushing off the subject entirely. That was something he didn't want to risk, fighting her. She was his best friend and losing her was simply not an option.
'But, the target is getting away. So stop trying to stop me from helping you do your job. No one, Bats especially, want a rogue Batman Inc member running around. Makes us look bad. Plus getting to spend time with a beautiful blue haired badass was simply a fringe benefit. Also getting to work with Spider-Girl could be fun. Now come on.'
He said ignoring the guns in his face and running full speed towards the edge of the building. He jumped as high and as far as he could before firing a line to the next roof and pulling himself over.
'Want me to carry you sweetheart?'
He called over to Rayne. He then nodded his head and took off across the roofs, looking at his gauntlet. He was listening to Herald as well who was also tracking the target.

May didn't like being at the back. She seemed like she was following everyone and like a third wheel. Blue Bat's attention was entirely on Rayne right now it seemed. It was almost like he was there because of her, not the rogue member. She needed to get close to him, see if she could pick up a scent that she remembered. She'd been around enough heroes and men that she might have a decent chance of remembering the scent. When she looked between the two of them she was about to say something when a sight triggered in her mind. Just seeing the two interact. No, not possible. She'd need more proof before she even brought it up. But her opportunity was gone when Blue Bat took off from them and headed towards where the target may be. She didn't quite buy it and he may be a distraction.
"Stay with him Tempus. When you get a chance, shoot him in the leg. He is still interfering and I want him alive."
She then pressed her finger to her ear, activating her communicator to go for all channels.
"I want three of you to stay inside. Keep searching and make sure the rest of his men are subdued. The rest form a perimeter. No one goes in or out without my say so. And should Blue Bat be a distraction, not an assistance, he'll become the new target."
She said before taking off after the two of them. She figured Rayne would be porting around which could cause some delay. So it may be up to May to apprehend either man.
'What is with SHIELD and arresting everyone? But then again you hand around someone like Rayne Madrox. Whoops I mean Tempus.'
"Stay off this channel whoever you are!"
'Haven't you been paying attention? Name's Herald and I'm not going anywhere.'
She tried to ignore him as she followed Blue Bat. Between her agility, strength and webs she was making the jumps easily. But she was also paying close attention to Blue Bat. She was looking for any possible opportunity to take him out. Then she and Rayne could finish the hunt.
