Mallory frowned, failing to find a good counter argument for giving the Flash a little frost bite. She had none. She gripped the backpack strap tighter, perhaps it was futile, but she wasn't letting her hard won prize go without a fight.
"Hey, you know rogue rules. We don't kill, and we don't hurt people...on purpose. And it is not outdated! It's a code of honor, keeps us all from going over a line. We like this city the way it is. Don't need people scared of Clowns with guns." Mallory did quite like Central City. It was bright and shiny, and sometimes, in the right light, some of the high city spires looked like the diamonds she'd pilfered and put in her backpack. She really didn't want her city to be covered in grime, blood and fear.
Mal sighed, watching Red toss the capsule to free Flash, still ready to turn him into a popsicle if needed. Though she did slightly doubt which would happen faster. [/font]

Walt watched the capsule as the Hood lofted it through the air and cracked at his feet. The salve leaked out, and Walt felt the adhesive begin to dampen from the ground up, before rapidly dissolving entirely. He smirked, stretching and rubbing his wrists. He chuckled.
"Good stuff." Then he extended his hand to the Red Hood.
"I don't imagine this is the last we'll be seeing of each other, Hoodie. I do so hope you and I can look forward to this type of sterling diplomacy in our future encounters." Plucking a hefty diamond from the ground, he weighed it in his hand before tossing it to the girl.
"Same goes for you, Articuno. Maybe we won't have to wait for the next armored diamond delivery to roll through Central to meet up again. You never know- I seem to spend a lot of time with you criminal types." The speedster delivered his last line with a smirk, and set off before there was time to respond.
As his feet battered the ground, his thoughts narrowed to two points.
I almost let him get the better of me. Next time I'll have to set him back.
And:
Who was that girl?

The Red Hood nodded. "Not everything can be solved with the judicious use of firepower. Sometimes, I have to come up with better options. This seemed like a prudent device to invent." The masked man looked down at the speedster's extended hand. He weighed his options for a few moments and then reached out and took the hand giving it a couple of pumps.
"I suppose this is not the last time we'll see each other. I look forward to future negotiations." He didn't think that these negotiations would go so well. He had expected that the scarlet speedster would have refused and then beaten Owen twelve ways from Sunday. The fact that he agreed was unexpected, but not unwanted. Owen smiled under the helmet. It worked for him.
He watched the Flash throw a diamond to Mallory and listened to the commentary, before the other man left in a scarlet streak. They stood there for a moment, alone in the road. Owen looked over to Mallory for a moment and raised an unseen eyebrow. He could swear that the Flash was flirting with her. He just shook his head for a moment and looked at Mal, before turning and walking towards the motorcycle with his bags of loot.
"Is there something that you and I need to talk about there? Because I am pretty sure that he was just flirting with you?"

Mallory eyes the handshake with massive suspicion. If she were the one doing the handshake, she'd take that opportunity to attack. It was only slightly paranoid thinking, but it had kept very both alive and out of jail so far. And it was only paranoid if they weren't actually out to get you.
She caught the diamond out of reflex and then waited for the other shoe to drop for a few moments, clutching the diamond to herself and bracing for impact. But none came. And then Flash called her a pokemon. And then not-so-subtlely mentioned they should run into each other again. Perhaps on purpose. She kept the diamond clutched close to her chest as she watched him run away, mouthing the words what the f*ck in silent confusion.
So lost was she in her small moment, waiting for him to come back, tell her he was kidding, that they were, in fact, going to jail, that she didn't notice that Red Hood had started to move. She jumped with a start at his question and hurried to catch up with him while trying to figure out how to answer.
"What? What...no...psh...that's not-is it? I wouldn't be able to tell you. I...uh...that's not just him being him? Why would he even flirt with me? I'm...pfft, I'm nothing. I'm just a weirdo with powers and penchant for thievery. That's...just dumb. That's a ridiculous idea. Really. Him? Flirt with me? Ludicrous. Absolutely insane." Mal continued to babble on for a few moments, still unsure what had just transpired. She tended to do that when presented with situations she had no idea how to handle. People being mean or selfish or predictable, she could handle. Aaron, she could handle. This? This was just downright strange.

Owen just shook his head and walked back towards the bike with his bags. He popped open the saddle bags and started putting his share of the loot into it. "Lady, he was hitting on you. I'm actually impressed. It actually let us get away from the good guy for a change." He offers the shocked teen a spot to throw her loot in the saddle bags, with a gesture. He wasn't sure if the stunned girl could fly and wasn't sure that he was looking to take a chance.
He started up the bike, and checked the scanners on it. The Flash let them go. He was making sure that no one else was picking up the slack. The Flash was a man of his word. But there were ways around your word. If you stuck to the strict meaning of it, there were always loop holes. That would be how Owen got around the deal. But he tried to play within the rules of deals, because he was an honorable criminal after all. Or something like that.
When this was all over, the two of them were going to have to have a talk about dating superheroes. It was looking like she might be following too closely in Owen's footsteps and they'd only known each other a few days. He didn't want this to turn out like whatever the hell was going on with him and Nightwing. Not that he'd admit anything beyond a little messing around with the hero.
"You going to be shell shocked for the foreseeable future? Because I'll let you ride on the bike with me if you're too out of it to fly. We just got away with this and I'd prefer you didn't die after your first successful crime."
