Becca wasn't entirely sure how much she liked it at Jean Grey. She'd only been there a couple of days, but already the glamour had faded. She already was looking at it as less of her chance to finally become a superhero, like she'd been forbidden from doing, first by her parents and then by the Teen Titans, and more like boarding school. Like a boarding school where there were a lot of lessons and she was much less popular by attending and where she didn't know anyone. She was already homesick, and she'd called home once already. Her parents hadn't been happy, to say the least, but they hadn't been prepared to march into Jean Grey Academy to get her back.
Which left her the issue of what to do to fill up her time now. She hadn't been there long enough to have a lesson timetable, so while everyone else was busy in class, she was left to pretty much amuse herself, and she'd never been good at that. Especially not without everything she'd left behind when she'd run away. It was so hard to believe that she'd been at home, as normal a few days ago, and her parents had had no idea about her plans. A lot had changed. She was just hoping she'd made the right choice coming here.
So, with a couple of hours until most classes ended, Becca decided she might as well head down and train. She'd been put into some advanced training squad with Kayleigh, that asshole Isaac and some guy called Ed, but she was massively behind them. They were into whole advanced fight training stuff, and she was still lagging there. Not to mention they could use their powers and until she got a suit, she wasn't going there. Ending up nude around May and Kayleigh would still be bad enough, but with Edward and Isaac around, well, she'd probably storm off somewhere.
So she changed into two sports bras, a muscle shirt and leggings, and then made her way down to one of the training rooms. The one the Talons, as the group was called, regularly used was empty, so she let herself into that one, dumped her bag containing a drinks bottle and change of clothes down, and started punching at a pad.

May wasn't a huge fan of Becca. She was a whiner but at the same time she'd also fought to get Becca on her team. Her uncle had been close to her dad so she was also a fan of the Fanastic Four. She'd wanted to try out once but felt she wasn't smart enough to be a member of the Fantastic Four. Of course she had never mentioned that to anyone, ever. Well except for when she got drunk. Likely Danny and Rayne were aware but hadn't said anything and that was enough for her.
She wasn't filling in for any teachers so she decided to get a work out in. She was wearing a shirt that could really no longer be called that. While it was once a Sailor Moon shirt it had been cut and burnt so often that it barely covered her sports bra, then there was her short spandex shorts which had also seen better days. However she was also barefoot and carrying a small bag with her which she dropped beside the door. As she walked in she watched Becca punching a mat.
"Your form is terrible Brule."
She said with a smirk before walking in and examining her. The door closed and locked behind her, only Talons had the code.
"You've never actually been in a fight have you?"
She seemed a lot like someone who'd only fought against trainers and punching bags. Not an actual fight. SHe also refused to call her by her name. It was the same for anyone. Her entire squad would only go by their nicknames, regardless of if they wanted it to or not.
"In a real fight I suspect you would last....38 seconds. That's only hand to hand. The more powers that are added the shorter the time becomes. But just like the rest of the squad I'll make a warrior and a hero out of you yet. But until you're willing to use your powers I'm afraid you can't do much. Well unless we go into intense training. Luckily I have lots of free time."

Becca was pretty wrapped up in her one-on-one sparring match with the punching bag that she didn't notice May walking in until the woman spoke behind her. When she heard the voice, however, Becca fought her urge to turn around, and kept working the bag. She didn't want to jump and make it look like she had no idea what was going on behind her while she was distracted. She felt like that would only reinforce the idea May had. As much as she didn't like to admit it, Becca was pretty sure May didn't like her. She wasn't sure any of the training squad did. Isaac was a dick, and she didn't want him to like her, and she hadn't really spoken much to Ed yet. But May didn't seem to have much of a good opinion of her, and even Kayleigh seemed to tolerate her more than anything else.
Did they all just think she was some stuck-up, pampered, spoiled princess who couldn't handle herself? Well, Isaac did, and he'd made that perfectly clear, but did the others? Did they just think like the Teen Titans had a couple of years ago? She'd tried hard to not be quite such a bitch since then, but she didn't know if it had worked. Apparently not. "Hi May," She said without turning around. Her fist clenched slightly tighter at the nickname, and her next punch was presumably a little bit harder than the others. It had taken her a couple hours to figure out why the nickname, but eventually she'd gotten it. It was rich and had to be torched. Very funny.
As she was told her form was terrible, she tried to fix up her stance. She'd never been too good at that, but she was trying. She put one foot further behind her, to take more weight, and tried to straighten up her top half. She locked her arms and straightened each wrist as it hit the bag. She continued to work it as she answered May's question. "I've been in fights before," Only two, but still, "I'm tougher than you guys think, you know." She tried as hard as she could to keep her tone neutral, but there was a bit of offence in it. She didn't like being treated like some stupid girl trying to be big.
"I've won fights before," She added, her tone annoyed, "And I lasted a whole lot longer than just thirty-eight seconds." Her next few punches were definitely harder on the pad, leaving smacking sounds. As May mentioned the powers, she punched a lot harder. "Sorry I'm not eager to strip in front of your nephew, an asshole, Kayleigh and the teacher," She said, sarcasm entering her voice for the first time, "Bit of a clothing issue with the powers."

She had to stifle a laugh when Becca said she'd been in fights. Odds are the two of them had very different views on what exactly constituted a fight. What May called a fight Becca might consider something totally a different and odds are her view of a fight was no more than sparring to May.
"Oh have you now Brule? Cute. How about fighting something that doesn't stand still?"
She asked with a smirk. She stretched a bit cracking her back in the process before standing beside the bag she was hitting. She had promise, a lot of promise. But May would also still have her work cut out for her. Her squad was undefeated and she was going to ensure it stayed that way.
"For the record Ed is actually my uncle. Our family is....old. But on an unrelated note, I have a suit for you. The thing is, I don't do gifts, not for my squad. You need to prove yourself to me."
She said before spinning and kicking. Her leg went over Becca's head and her foot claw came out, slicing the bag from the ceiling and letting it fall.
"Impress me and the suit will be in your room before you even get back. Fail, and well I suggest you learn to embrace your inner exhibitionist. Sound good?"

Becca knew she had pretty much no fighting experience compared to the others in the team. A couple of fistfights with other girls and a lot of sparring fights, but that was it. She'd won both the fistfights, but from what she'd heard about the stuff people got involved with here, they weren't much. Split lips, black eyes, bruises, ripped clothes. That sort of thing. No disembowelling, no eyes being clawed out, no being cut open. Still, she counted them as proper fights. They just wouldn't count very much compared to what Isaac, Kayleigh, Ed or especially May had done in the past.
"I have actually, May," Becca said, trying to keep her tone civil. She really didn't like being mocked. She knew telling May not to call her Brule would just be pointless, but that didn't mean she had to let the older women walk all over her. Figuratively, of course. "And more than just pads." She hit the bag another couple of times for good measure. If she was going to keep hitting stuff, she should probably invest in some gloves. Not padded boxing gloves, but proper MMA gloves that would bind her fist. Not that they'd last long if she used her powers, but they'd still help her in a proper fight. As May stood beside the pad, Becca tried to keep herself aware of what the superheroine was doing while still working the pad, trying to look undistracted.
A mildly confused expression passed over Becca's face as May mentioned being Ed's niece. The way the two of them acted, not to mention the age difference, it seemed to be the other way round, but she wasn't going to question. She stopped punching and turned to look at May, however, when the other woman mentioned that there was a suit for Becca. Did May seriously have a fireproof supersuit for her, and was keeping it from her? How dare she! "I need to prove myself to you?" She asked, trying not to sound too outraged about that. Why should she have to prove herself to May so she didn't end up naked if she wanted to actually help out?
She was about to say more when May moved suddenly, and Becca took several quick steps out of the way on instinct. The kick had been aimed for the bag, however, and Becca watched as it hit the ground. She blinked a couple of times, and then decided she'd just ask. "And how do I impress you, and make sure I don't need to engage my 'inner exhibitionist'?" She asked, raising her eyebrows.

"Yes, you need to prove yourself to me. You see while I do recruit a wide number of students every semester, most don't pass the entrance exam. Hell a decent amount won't even take. I have recruited 12 students in total, so far there are three members."
She said with a smile. She was simply watching her. She had the form of someone who had a general idea how real fights went. Sure her basic generic form was fine, she could also see the extra movements of someone who'd had to duck real punches. But aside from the risk of ripped clothes and pulled hair, there wasn't much of a risk. She could've taken a dive and maybe just needed a new shirt and a slight haircut. May got in a fight with a girl like her once when she was a child. The girl had gone for her hair before May simply cut it herself and needed to be pulled off of her as the girl had lost consciousness from the pounding.
"Now I'm sure you've heard rumors about my squad. Rumors that talk about disemboweling, dismembering, and people begging for mercy. But I want to assure you, those aren't even close to the truth."
She said with a smirk. Was she exaggerating? Potentially. She knew there was a wide variety of rumors about Talons out there, but most she'd started herself. She only wanted the best of the best, so all the weak ones would ignore recruitment week in her squad. She only wanted the best of the best, which seemed to be well known now. She ignored her potential anger and ranting and walked over to the door. She then began to type on the computer console next to it.
"Well I see nothing wrong with exhibitionism, if anything I encourage it. But to get your suit so you don't need to worry about Tweetie, Sugar, Pup and...."
She looked her up and down.
"...me seeing you in your glory...you need to get past me and get out the door. Of course the door is locked to anyone but me and my finger prints. However I do know you can easily burn through the door. It's why I chose this older room on purpose."
She said before clenching her fists and taking a basic fighting stance.
"Also, there are no rules. Because women like us can't be bothered with boring things like rules, honor or what society deems acceptable."

Becca didn't bother to try and hide her scowl as May detailed needing to prove herself. It was ridiculous. What sort of school made its students prove themselves to not end up naked? Although Becca had a sneaking suspicion this was more of May thing than a Jean Grey thing. Just a hunch. "Really?" She asked, amping up the puzzlement on her face, "Boy Candle passed a test other people couldn't? Are you sure about that?" So she saw the chance for a dig at Isaac and she took it. But it still sounded like crap. "What happened to the other nine? They still alive?" It wasn't meant to come out as a genuine question, but there was a hint of that by the time she finished speaking.
Becca couldn't help but snort as May talked about disembowelling and dismembering. She'd heard the rumours, of course, but she'd dismissed them as a load of bullshit. "Really? Dismembering?" She asked, her tone sceptical, "Ed doesn't seem the type, and Isaac doesn't have the balls." She didn't say anything about Kayleigh or May herself. She'd spent more time with the bird girl than any other Talon, and she could believe Kayleigh would dismember someone if she was angry enough. And then she had no doubt that May would quite casually disembowel somebody.
Becca watched as May began to type into the console, but as May spoke, and especially looked her over, she blushed, averted her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest as a reflex. She was pretty sure May had just fairly unashamedly checked her out. "Don't think Ed and Isaac could fight so well if they got an eyeful of this," She commented, gesturing to her body, trying to sound far more confident than she felt. May checking her out was leaving her somewhat hot under the collar, but that was ridiculous. Nothing wrong with a girl looking at her. It wasn't a big deal.
And then May explained the rules of what they were doing, and Becca groaned. Not only was the door very much on the other side of May from her, with no easy way to get to it, it was set up so that it was unavoidable that she'd end up using her powers. Which meant she was pretty sure May had set up this 'proving herself' challenge to ensure she ended up naked. Well that sucked. Not to mention 'no rules' seemed to be code for 'May can fight as dirty as she likes'.
Becca had no idea if May had just come up with this on the spot, or if it had been planned, but for the time being, she didn't care. Before they started, she made an executive decision, and pulled her muscle shirt over her head, and then stripped out of the leggings. Yeah, she'd brought a change of clothes with her, but she hadn't taken all that much money with her when she'd left home, and it wouldn't help her not looking spoiled if she bought endless outfits after training sessions. She decided that the cost of buying two new sports bras instead of one was worth it if it reduced certain comments May might make. She also kicked her shoes off. They were expensive (although she could easily afford it) and almost new.
"We good?" She asked, very determinedly not making eye contact with May. Getting into her underwear had seemed like the best move, especially as it meant that after she used her powers there'd be an outfit close by to change into, but now she felt all hot and bothered about being in that state around May, who wasn't really that much more dressed. Which was ridiculous. They were two girls. What was the harm in it? Before she could go down that train of thought, Becca took off, aiming to run down one side of the training room, close to the wall, rather than trying to run straight past May. It might buy her a second if she was lucky.

"The issue with you and Sugar is....boring. If you make it onto the team I'll deal with it then. However in the meantime we shall focus on you. As for the other recruits, well they're alive, technically."
Yes she had injured quite a few students while the Talons were built. Sure some had gotten hurt worse than the others, but in the end they'd been too weak to actually impress her or pass her test. At this point it was actually getting tricky to try and recruit people. Sure she would occasionally get a few challengers but not many.
"Oh Brule, sweetie. I never said they did the dismembering and disemboweling. I did when they had their tests."
She said with a laugh, As Becca began to partially undress May reached into her bag and pulled out two black gloves, sliding them on. She smiled at her before waiting for her to do anything. She was smart enough to not go head on, there was that. Instead she tried to to run past and around her. May just fired a quick web at the ground hoping she'd step on it and get caught. After firing the web she charged at her. Only taking a few steps before leaping into the air and aiming to drive her foot into the side of Becca's head.

"There's no issue," Becca said dismissively, "The guy's a dick. That's all there is to it." She wasn't entirely sure why or how her problem with Isaac had started, but she knew she didn't like him, and he didn't like her at all. He seemed to have an issue with her. At least if calling her 'Princess' was anything to go by. He seemed to think she was some privileged spoilt brat, and that was something she couldn't stand. And then she just thought he was an asshole. She didn't see an issue there, and she didn't see how May planned to deal with it.
It was the "technically" still alive that worried Becca about the other people who'd tried out. Surprisingly, she didn't fancy being left a vegetable or whatever after May was done with her. She was going to need to watch herself. Or dismembered or disembowelled, for that moment. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure you can't do that," She pointed out. She knew Jean Grey did things differently, but at the end of the day it was still a school, and they couldn't butcher their students. Especially not with them trying to push for mutant rights. May was clearly talking things up to try and intimidate her.
Not that it wasn't working. The implied threat, and seeing May pull on the gloves, was leaving her fairly nervous about how the next few minutes were gonna go. Pretty much the only thing she was sure of was that it was gonna hurt. As she took off running, it was pretty much terror that was lending her speed. She saw the web on the ground and jumped over it, but she didn't get very far past that when something smacked her in the head. She staggered back against the wall, laying a hand against it to brace herself, and then groaned as pain lanced through her skull. She wanted badly to just clutch her head and curl up, but she knew that wasn't what May was looking for. So she gritted her teeth, trying to power through the pain.
She pushed off from the wall, her fists clenched. She knew she couldn't take May in a fight. Nowhere close. But she wouldn't be able to use her powers if she couldn't get a grip on herself, and a dangerous mutant bearing down on her wasn't exactly the best environment to get a grip on herself in. There was just the issue of where to punch. She knew she couldn't go anywhere that was backed by bone. It'd get her a broken hand at best. But other places on May didn't seem any more punchable. It was like the woman didn't have a soft area of her body. Everything was metal or muscle.
Still, between metal and a hard place, Becca knew which one was best. She raised her arms in front of her face in a guard, trying to ignore the pain splitting through her head that had her vision slightly blurry, and then tried to slam a fist into May's solar plexus with as much strength as she could muster. Not to stick with that, however, she tried to follow it up with a knee between the legs. Dirty tricks were allowed, after all

She would have to get to the bottom of Becca and Isaac's fighting. She didn't know why they were fighting, also didn't particularly care. All she did know was that she wouldn't have in-fighting on her team. A Rivalry was one thing. That she encouraged, it was healthy and helped to foster growth. But their aggression seemed deeper. Well that or they just needed to bang. She had a few ideas on how to fix them but first, Becca needed to be a member of the team.
She felt a sense of satisfaction as her foot connected to Becca's head. She could see the pain behind her eyes as she got hit. She loved seeing the look on someone's face as they felt pain at her hands. Of course seeing someone in pain but fighting through it filled her with joy. This is what she was looking for in a squad member. Someone who would work through pain and do what was needed. She still wasn't activating her powers, but May would force her to do that yet. Being able to heal and likely immortal meant May was fine being patient.
Becca managed to get through and surprise her with the chest punch but May recovered in time to block the knee.
"Dirty fighter? You and Sugar have more in common than you think. But it'll take more than a cheap shot Brule."
She said before going for a headbutt followed by an open palm shot to the throat. There was certainly nothing nice or pretty about it. It was designed to incapacitate, if not then certainly slow down the opponent. Then again May wasn't the type to actually use safe or fair tactics. It was a fight after all and that meant that you needed to win. Honor meant nothing if you were on your back.

It wasn't Becca's first time being kicked in the head, but it was the first time solid metal powered by super strength and solid, lean and densely-packed muscle had cracked into her skull, and she was definitely feeling it. It felt like what she imagined a sledgehammer being somewhat lightly swung at your skull felt like. But she knew that this could maybe be her one shot to prove herself to May, and more than that. Prove herself to her parents, to her trainers. Prove that vampire in the Titans who'd called her a spoiled brat wrong. So she felt like she could power through the pain and try and reach that door.
While punching into the soft area of the solar plexus definitely beat slamming her fist against solid adamantium bone by a long shot, it still hurt. She'd forgotten to tuck her thumb behind her fingers, so that was aching, and her knuckles felt sore. Even in soft areas, May was still pretty solid. Her knee hit something harder than a groin, however, and it made her whimper in pain. "I'm nothing like him," She grunted, her knee still against whatever May was blocking with. She didn't want to take the time to twist away, and she wanted to keep an eye on May.
That proved to work against her however, as she saw May's head move, and then pain flared through her head as her nose shattered. It took her a couple of seconds to realise exactly what had happened, that May had headbutted her hard enough to break her nose. As blood began to pour down her face and trickle down to her chest and stomach, it finally sunk in that this wasn't a fight where anything would be pulled, where there were kiddie gloves. May had just shattered her nose, and she didn't seem in the mood to stop.
And she didn't. Becca had only just thought about countering when she felt something strike her throat, slipping between the arms she'd raised to her nose. She staggered back, her eyes widening as she gagged, trying to draw breaths that wouldn't come. She leant against the wall again, slowly sliding down. She raised a foot to try and kick, but it fell as her eyes rolled back. For just a second, however. As she hit the verge of blacking out, she found that centre of calm, and heard the voice going "We don't need a spoiled brat on the team."
And then, as May had presumably planned this entire time, Becca slid from the verge of unconsciousness, right past her normal state, to what she dubbed as "Warhead mode", and the underwear she'd undressed to burned away as her body ignited. She felt her breaths coming more easily, the blood that had already run from her nose to her stomach evaporating as the flow stopped, her shattered nose coming back to a shape, and she practically jackknifed to her feet. The room around her was lighter as her flames lit it up, and her brain, working faster, took in the situation, and then she threw a punch will as much strength as she could muster at May's ribs.

She laughed as Becca tried to dismiss the comment about being so similar to Isaac. May knew it was true, even based on the brief time she'd spent with them both. They were similar and were destined to be lovers, best friends or mortal enemies. May wasn't sure which one she'd find the most interesting. She'd used a combination of her left handand thigh to block the knee, leaving her with one open arm. Which had clearly done the trick as she watched Becca cough and sputter through the blood that had started to flow from her broken nose.
"Cute little Brule. You talk a big game but that's all you are. Pathetic. I've seen better fighting from Issac when he had the flu. I guess I'll have to continue my search for a new member. There is that new telekinetic. He looks strong, well stronger than you at least. Of course the list of people stronger than you is pretty much the entire student roster, anyone on another team, some other random people. Like the guy who sells hot dogs on Fourth."
May was baiting her. She'd seen the application of Becca and knew just how strong she truly was. The problem was, Becca was afraid. This had more to do with than just being naked. No, she was afraid of her powers themselves. That would make training her tricky, but still extremely doable. May easily batted Becca's pathetic attempt of a kick away before pulling her fist back.
"You may be cute, but that won't help you."
Of course then the faint smell of smoldering hit her nose and she smirked. She readied herself, now knowing the fight would truly be interesting.
"There we go. So there is some fight in you after all. Good, I was worried that this would be too easy."
She could feel and smell her clothes and hair begin to react to the heat and smiled. Then as she was about to punch Becca she felt a flaming hot fist slam into her side. May let out a laugh as the burned skin quickly smoothed itself out and healed. May stepped back a bit, now bouncing on the balls of her feet. She jumped into the air towards her and aimed a scissor kick at her. Usually the first one was blocked, which was fine. The point was that it gave her added momentum with the second follow up kick aimed right for Becca's jaw.

May was actually right there. Becca was afraid of her powers. Not necessarily what they did to her, not that it wasn't alarming to suddenly catch fire, but for what they'd done to other people. The first time her powers had activated, she'd nearly destroyed a room and put a guy in hospital. A guy she'd respected. After that, he'd never come back, and she'd lost her krav maga trainer. She hadn't even gotten the chance to see him, either in hospital or when he was finally let out. She'd heard that he'd recovered, but that didn't change the fact that she could have killed him. And despite how much she hated the thought, she knew that Isaac could at least control who he hurt with his powers. If she blew up, she could hit everyone.
But then as May started talking, hurting her didn't sound like the worst thing that might happen. Becca's eyes narrowed at the taunts, how she was pathetic, how she was worse than Isaac. "I could take Boy Candle with a hand tied behind my back," She said, her tone (ironically) cold as she stood. She grunted slightly as her fist took May in the stomach. She'd been hoping to hear like a cry or at least a groan, but May just laughed. Before Becca could see what damage she'd done, May moved, and Becca, with her heightened reflexes, moved to block. Her forearm hit the first foot, stopping it, but then the second caught her in the chin.
However, the hit that before might have knocked her teeth loose and maybe taken her off her feet only snapped her head back now. She avoided biting her tongue, and then, as she was moving her head back down, clenched her hands into fists.
She knew May could think what to do faster than her, take advantage of openings, so without bothering to think it through, she started to whale on May. Her krav maga training helped her, and she tried to strike relentlessly, striking at May's solar plexus with her fist, her throat with fingers, her inside thigh with her foot. Ideally, if it worked, she'd be able to spend about ten seconds pounding on May and maybe even drive her back a couple of steps.

"Boy candle? Cute. I actually debated that for his nickname briefly."
She said with a laugh after watching her foot connect to Becca's jaw. So the reports were true. When she went Warhead mode as she allegedly called it, she got stronger as well as faster. That was good, May was worried this might get too easy. Yes she was being burned but she didn't care. After being shot and exploded a couple times the ambient fire of Becca wasn't too much to deal with. Of course she had read that the longer this fight went the hotter she was likely to get as well as the wider her heat radius went.
May was beginning to see a pattern in her combat. She went for pressure points and obvious weak points. Groin, throat, solar plexus and so forth. Not terrible but she'd need to learn real fighting as well as ways to use her powers in combat instead of just relying on heat to get the job done. As the fingers hit her throat May instinctively backflipped away, trying to catch her breath. She landed on her hands and feet low to the ground. Her webbing would likely burn off or melt if it hit her so that was out. She spit again, trying to catch her breath. She would rely on what the family referred to as Spider Fu. A special home made combat that utilized their spider abilities.
"So it turns out you're looks and some vague fighting skills. Fun."
She then used her strength and agility to push herself up, high into the air while using her webbing to grab the punching bag she'd cut down earlier and throwing it at Becca. Between the weight and the sand it may do the trick. She then landed on her feet and ran after the bag. Her goal was to chase it down and use that as the 1, of a 1-2 punch. As the bag went high, aimed at chest/shoulder height May slid low, aiming to kick her knees out from under her.

"It's a lot better than 'Sugar'," Becca said, only slightly mockingly. She got her nickname, it was an oh so clever pun about her powers and her being rich. But she didn't get Sugar. Unless May was trying to say she was hotter with Isaac. Which, if it was a guy saying that, she'd be more than happy to hear it, but from May it left her feeling....weird. And she didn't even know if that's what May meant.
Becca enjoyed her ten second stint in charge of the fight. Being not hit was actually pretty great. This was the first time she'd be in a proper, unbound fight. Even when her Krav Maga or Karate instructors kicked her around a bit, they would stop when she tapped. They knew their limits. She was pretty sure that, if May got the better of her, she'd only stop when Becca was in dire need of an ambulance. So she'd have to not let that happen. There was a smile on her face as she struck May in the throat. Going for pressure points worked, even in a fight like this. She was just happy that she'd driven May back, even a little bit. She bet Isaac hadn't done that. Probably the best he'd done was stop her hitting him a bit. And Becca had actually forced May to backflip away from her.
"I'm a lot more than that," She snarled, as May called her looks and a bit of punching. May complimenting her looks still made her feel....not uncomfortable, but strange, and she didn't like being reduced to that. She could do more than fill a shirt and hit people.
And then Becca regretted forcing May so far back, because when the older woman pushed herself up, there was suddenly a lot of space between them. Becca's powers didn't work further than her fists unless she detonated it, and she didn't feel like that would go down well right about now, but she was sure May could do pretty terrible things over a long distance. Her idea turned out to be more right than she imagined, and her eyes widened as she saw May hurling the punching bag towards her. There was a lot of scrambling around, but Becca managed to do something that almost resembled a roll out of the way. The bag hit the ground near her and burst, sand spilling out, and Becca tried to get to her feet. As she did, May kicked, and Becca felt her legs give out underneath her.
She used the reflexes from her Warhead mode to catch herself before she fell, but she didn't have the right position to anchor herself and climb back to her feet. So, for lack of a better option, she tried to kick out, much more powerfully than last time, and take May in the knee as hard as she could.
