i can show you magic, madness, heaven, sin
Jean Grey's was a place that Mari hadn't expected to be at for so long. She was just to gain trust, kill Edward, and get out. But she'd found herself getting stuck there. Making this identity, she'd made something of a new life for herself. And while she knew that the 'fake' life of Maria Creed (or Mari Creed as she preferred to be called) couldn't last forever, she wanted it to last as long as possible. So most nights, when she didn't feel all that tired, she found herself either doing one of two things. Either she was staying up and drawing in her journal, something she hadn't quite felt like doing that particular night. Or she was sneaking out of her window to explore (or hunt). Tonight, as you could easily guess, was the later. She wanted to be out there, feeling the gentle night breeze on her skin and get a better understanding of her surroundings. So after her room was checked, she stuffed her blankets with her pillows and snuck out from the window.
She wasn't wearing much more than her pajamas. And those, honestly, were a sorry excuse for anything. The pajamas were dark enough to help blend in a bit with the night where it was actually covering skin. She wasn't wearing anything on her feet, knowing she could move around quieter without them. After opening her window, she perched herself on the branch outside of it so she could quietly close her window back up. With a small smile on her lips, she moved back on the branch and jumped down, landing quietly on the ground. Her hands smoothed down her body to make sure there were no wrinkles in her top or shirts before she started sniffing the air. There was no fresh scents that she could discern at the moment, which was good. That meant no staff to find her and escort her back to her room.
Giving a small stretch, she started to move through the court yard. At first, she had thought about climbing up to the roof but, well, she didn't seem to see the point of it. Not at the moment at least. Besides, she wanted to get out of here, not stay inside the grounds. She had urges, ones that most normal people wouldn't really understand. And if she was going to hold off on torturing and killing that damned Howlett scum, she was going to have her fun with someone else. Someone not at the school, at least. Her feet started moving towards the gate but before she could go too far, she heard footsteps from close by. Mari froze for a moment before her instincts all kicked in. Quietly and quickly, she ran for the nearest tree and hid behind it. She kept her scent at nothing and slowly retracted a tiny bit of her claws as she scented the air. There was something fiery about the scent of the person she heard. Something almost familiar. While she knew she'd never really met the person, she'd encountered that scent before on Edward. A student, perhaps? She hoped so as she called out quietly to them. "Who's out there?"
