Melody was practically vibrating with excitement as she stood by the recently-opened gates to Gotham Zoo. So maybe they hadn't been open when she'd arrived, and maybe there'd been a security guard who'd been quite annoyed when she'd tried to open it and maybe said security guard was now knocked out and bound to a chair, but that wasn't important. What was important was that she basically had an all-night free pass to the zoo to go see all the animals she liked. And take a friend. And best of all, she was gonna be taking an animal home with her! Her eye was already firmly on one little animal in particular.
But of course, this was technically a heist, and not just a trip, so Melody had dressed the part. Well, she thought she'd dressed the part. Ditching her usual, unsubtle and battle-ready Harley Quinn outfit, she'd instead gone for a leotard she'd have worn for gymnastics or for ballet, except custom made so it was a nice sneaky black and a pretty red, arranged in quarters on her front and back. Totally sneaky. She'd argued with some clowns about it before going out, with them claiming a bright, reflective red wasn't conducive to sneaking. And sure, maybe if somebody shone a torch on her they'd seen her very very easily, but the whole idea was that she wouldn't get a torch shone on her. The leotard would let her be totally silent as she did all sorts of cool acrobatics and gymnastics around the place. And plus it made her legs look awesome. She was sure to make a mental note and surprise Josie sometime.
But now she was having to wait around for her partner in crime, and it was getting boring. It had been a whole ten minutes since she knocked out the guard, and to Melody, ten minutes of standing around waiting was like a million years. She was tempted to start doing laps or something, just to keep her entertained. She wanted to get inside, and start borrowing adorable little animals. She was sure Josie would absolutely love another pet that wasn't an adorable hyena. It'd really brighten up the place.
"Booooooooored," She said aloud in a whiny tone.
