She shook her head following the headbutt and laughed lightly. The headbutt hurt more than she let on. Of course to him it would hurt even more. If the man didn't have a cracked skull he would at least be heavily concussed. Not to mention he would be sporting a very nasty bruise later on. Well provided he actually regained consciousness. She had killed with a headbutt before but this one was likely weaker than her lethal headbutt.
"Oh he's down for awhile. But in my defense he stabbed me, and it hurt."
She said with a laugh. She smirked lightly at his comment about the sidekick. He had a point and it was also a point she'd never admit. To most Spider-Man would be calling the shots while she was likely viewed as a sidekick. Of course that was very far from the truth. If anything she was heavily experienced in comparison.
"I'm just trying some new names out for a sidekick. Spider-Girl and Arachni-Kid. Gotta admit it had a nice ring to it."
She said with a laugh before turning around and seeing one man, who had been hiding in the crowd now had an old woman by the throat. He seemed to be creating an energy weapon and was threatening the woman with it.
"What do ya think Spidey? Should we beat him senseless or leave him mostly conscious?"
She knew she could grab the woman quickly enough while Ben took him out. But throwing them off with small talk was always fun.

"I'll take your word on that. I haven't been stabbed yet" said Ben knowing full well that he was bound to get stabbed eventually as a super hero. But luckily for him, he did have a healing factor and was confident that he could at the very least survive a stab wound, though it was nowhere on par with May's. He would then look over to the two criminal's whose weapons he jammed with webbing and noticed that they were on the ground with their hand on top of their heads knowing full well that they wouldn't be able to defeat the duo, even if they had their weapons. Looks like I won't have to worry about those two thought the teen as his cousin told him that she was just trying out names for a side kick with Arachni-Kid appealing to her.
"Well in that case, how about Spider-Girl and Arachni-Boy? Or maybe Spider-Girl and the Scarlet Spider'?" suggested Ben as he turned around and saw a man holding onto a woman while forming some. The boy's heart began to pound as he tried to think of a way to get this woman out and the only thing that came to mind was allowing the man to take her hostage and taking advantage of whatever opening he could find as he walked away. Before Ben was able to act on such a plan, his cousin ask the young hero if they should beat him senselessly or leave him mostly conscious. Thinking that May had some sort of plan, he decided to play along with it the best he could and began to stroke his chin as if he were in deep thought.
"I think that we should leave him mostly conscious. I mean if we were to beat him senselessly, he'd just wake up in hospital bed with morphine being pumped into his body. And while leaving him conscious would land him in the exact same place, he would be in pain for a longer period of time" said Ben who personally thought that was too cruel. But he didn't mind scaring criminals with that very idea.

She laughed lightly. He was really new to the hero game, not even a stab wound yet. But it'd happen sooner or later. Odds are that's when MJ would find everything out. Primarily because she likely knew already. She'd gone through the exact same thing with Peter. Now she knew what to look for and what to keep an eye on. But May would play along with everything and go on with it.
"Watch the names there Spidey. I think if anyone should get the Scarlet Spider name it's me."
In reality she had been planning an eventual switch over to Scarlet Spider. She'd only taken the Spider-Girl name because the city needed a real Spider hero, not all the pretenders. Once Ben was established she could make the switch. Hell, super heroes switched all the time anyways. She looked over at the two surrendering and fired some webs, wrapping them up and leaving them immobilized. She then turned her attention back to the jerk holding the old woman hostage. She glanced over at Ben out of the corner of her eye and laughed.
"Good point Spidey. Follow my lead."
She said before taking a step forward. The guy tensed up and she held her hands up.
"Whoa there big guy, chill. Nothing to worry about here. No one wants to hurt the old woman?"
The guy seemed to relax slightly and that was when she swung her purse down hitting him in the crotch. He let go and May had to try and supress a laugh as she moved and the woman moved out of the way. She fired two webs at the man and pulled him closer. She dropped down and put both feet on his stomach and flipped him over and sent him flying towards Ben.
"Time to play catch the scumbag."

"You might want to take the name quickly then before the offspring of one of my father's clones decides to take up the mantel" suggested Ben after his cousin told him that if anyone should get the name of Scarlet Spider, it should be her. This did of course raise the question in the young teen's mind as to what her costume was going to be, especially when she said earlier that her favorite costume. But that was a question that was best asked when this hostage situation was over. Following May's lead, he took a step forward holding his hands in the air as his cousin told the crook to chill and that nobody here wants to hurt the old woman here. I hope that May knows what she is doing here. Sure we made the guy less tense, but our talk about how we should beat him definitely made him even tenser thought Ben as he watch the crook relax slightly.
Then all of a sudden, the old woman suddenly swung her purse down between his legs which made the teen burst out in laughter as it was the last thing he expected in this kind of situation and from what he could tell, May was was having trouble holding it in as she move in web the guy closer to him. His cousin kicked the man over to him telling him that it was time to play catch the scu bag. As the crook flew towards him, Ben leaped over and used his web shooters to wrap the man in a cacoon before falling to the ground. Once he landed, Ben wiped his hands together as e looked over at the criminals who were entangled in the duo's webs with a sense of pride and accomplishment. He would then look over to May and said "You know, someone really should have captured that bit with the old lady hitting the man below the belt. I bet it would go viral within a day"

Ok, so he had a point. There were a lot of potential people who could become Scarlet Spider. Not even someone in their family, just someone with spider based or even tech based powers. It was a definite possibility. Every now and then she'd kick around the idea of taking that name. But the idea of Scarlet Spider being tied to the Suicide Squad would be like slapping her father in the face. The very concept of potentially ruining his name was a terrible idea, but she was indebted to the squad until such time as she either died or wasn't needed. Of course knowing what she knew meant that dying was a serious potential.
"Yeah, we really need to invest in body cams just for that. I suppose if money got bad I could use them for a website. Spidergirlafterhours.com. Not the best way to make money, but the easiest."
She said with a laugh. Admittedly it was a terrible idea, but she could make a fortune. She couldn't be the first super hero to think of it. Of course she was also not even close to the most noble of people, so there was that. If anything she should probably work on that. But, in the end it helped her cope with what had to be done while leading HuRTs.
"Alright Spider-Lad, time for us to be out of here. Ya know, before cops come."
She fired a web up through the sky light and quickly pulled herself up. Once she was on the roof she fired a web to swing away. She hated dealing with cops. Sure she could get out of any trouble being part of SHIELD, sort of. But she also didn't feel like using it to get away from NYPD. The Spiders had enough issue dealing with police and angry journalists to also have it get out that Spider-Girl flashed a badge and got away. As she swung away she glanced making sure Ben was following. She landed on a gargoyle and sat down.
"That was fun. Not often I get to fight crime with a partner."
