I'm an assassin and I had a job to do
Rann, located in the Alpha Centauri Star System. It was approximately 4.5 lightyears away from earth. And to Luci, it was home. Though a home she hadn't been to in nearly six months. She'd been spending most of her days on Earth, in search for her brother. But with so very few leads to go off of, when her gauntlet had actually relayed a message to her from her mother, after the initial shock, pure terror had taken hold. If her mother wanted to see her and she didn't have a single answer as to just where in the world Morkand'r was, she was quite afraid of the consequences. Komand'r didn't give much reason, just that she her presence was needed pronto. She felt pretty lucky that, with the right blackholes and 'short cuts' through space, it would take less than an average earth day to get back home. Though she was not sure how lucky she would feel when she got there. Fear was still wrenching her gut as she entered Rann's atmosphere, her body readjusting to it quickly as she made her way home. No stops, no visits, not like she had much in the way of 'friends' or 'allies' on this planet. There wasn't much of anything she could do, anyway, save for maybe visit the little site she'd set up in remembrance of her father. It wasn't necessarily something her mother approved of, lingering on your past kills. It was preposterous. Just move on, Kom had been so proud when it had happened, why couldn't Lucy just leave it be? But she couldn't just leave it be. As she got to what served as their royal estate, Luciand'r was cautious in each of her movements, trying to bite down on the fear welling up again. Deep breathes were what they said in those meditation classes and they were slowly starting to help in this instance as she approached her mother's chamber. "Mother, I have returned." She stood tall in the entrance way, waiting to be told to come in before actually stepping into her room. When the guards were ordered to leave the room, that seemed to only create further anxiety for Luci, but she hid it well, standing at attention. "I regret to inform that I have yet to find any evidence of Prince Morkand'r on Earth, but i cannot be that far off from him. I am sure of-"Komand'r raised a hand to silence her daughter and Luci stopped talking almost immediately. "That is not important to me right now, Luciand'r. No, I have much more urgent matters that require your assistance. Something only you can do," she said. That seemed to kill some of the anxiety and peek her interests. Luci listened to every word, the details of her mission seemed quite simple. Find the threat and eliminate it before it could eliminate her mother. She could do that without raising any sort of suspicion. It was almost child's play. She bowed her head to her mother and without another word, she was dismissed from the chambers. Already, her mind was trying to place the pieces together on how to find these Thanagarians. It could happen at any moment, couldn't it? No... it couldn't. An assassination of this kind would need quite a bit of thought put into it, planning. But not if she found them first. But where to find them? That was the question. She flew off, staying just above the tops of buildings, her eyes scanning for the anyone who looked suspicious, Thanagarian or otherwise. The first Thanagarian her eyes caught sight of, she dove down and landed in front of them, blocking off his path. Her hands began to glow. She knew damn well that the first one she found wouldn't likely be apart of the group, but that didn't mean that she should take her chances with him either. "In the name of her Majesty and the royal guard of Rann, I place you under arrest by order of the queen."675 | Wyatt Andrews | this probably wasn't the best of starts but i hope it's okay ^^; lyrics in the template and title come from John Mayer - Assassin (honestly, i just couldn't think of a title ^^ |

Rann hardly ever really seemed to change. That wasn't, however, necessarily a good thing as Rann was still recovering from a civil war... if one could consider three species trying to cohabit the same planet and, inevitably, coming to blows over it a civil war rather than an invasion or even occupation.
Wyatt, however, didn't spend much time in consideration of that question. No, he was here for Rann's OTHER big export. Science! Sweet, lady Science. After all, the planet was home to one of, if not the, largest and most sophisticated mass-teleportation systems in the Universe. And while engineering may not have been the human traveler's forte how could he not want to check in on it every so often?
The ship was safely stowed away already. And the humanoid android dubbed 'Lestrade' was following him at a slow trot, taking in the scenery but mostly silent as it accessed the local data networks to learn about the environment. The two traveled in amiable silence for several long minutes (or whatever the local timekeeping system was). Really, if he had had a mind for it, Wyatt might have marveled at the architecture and other achievements of Rannian (Or was it Tameranean? Or even Thanagarian?) culture looming up around him. If he'd been paying attention to that, as well, instead of translating the guidebook he was reading in his head... he might have realized how close he was to the edge of the city.
"Andrews," Lestrade finally piqued up his voice. Slightly mechanical with just the barest hint of an accent. "I'm picking up a declaration of arrest." He pointed out, raising an arm and gesturing in a direction, seemingly at random. "Over there. Shall we investigate?"
"Well, I've got some time before I need to see the Zeta-Beam." Wyatt considered, stuffing the book into one of his pockets. And, given his view that, with Komand'r running the show, Rann was basically 'Space North Korea' he figured investigating wouldn't hurt.
It was a good thing Wyatt turned out to be such an great runner, otherwise he might have found himself in the middle of an airborne fight rather than an indignant Thanagarian demanding to know just WHAT they were under arrest for. And... a rather familiar face doing the arresting.
"We really do have to stop meeting like this, Lucille." He grinned, stuffing his hands into his pockets. "The neighbors will begin to talk. Also, would I be out of line to make a 'ruffled feathers' joke?"
"Very." The Thanagarian asserted with a scowl, wings a-flapping.
"It would be in... poor taste." Lestrade offered his own opinion. "What is this creature charged with?"

I'm an assassin and I had a job to do
"I'm not going anywhere with you until I know what I did to offend your 'glorified queen'." The tone of voice that the Thanagarian took did nothing to help ease her annoyance. If anything, it seemed to add fuel to the fire and Lucy balled her hands into tight fists a moment to try and keep herself from firing too early. She didn't need to assault the creature just because it was being a pompous ass. She was about to open her mouth to say something back, which no doubt would have incited some form of a fight, when she heard a familiar voice seemingly address her as... Lucille? That was a vaguely familiar name. She remembered when she had tried 'Americanizing' her name, that had been an option. She had looked through books for names, but that was not the point. She threw a glance over at Wyatt. "Now is not the time, Wyatt Andrews. Perhaps after this traitor has been dealt with, we can talk, but please, do refrain from getting in the way. I would hate it if I accidentally hit you." She paused, almost wanting to bring her palm to her forehead at the mention of even wanting to make a joke. She probably shouldn't be surprised. Not when it came to him, but still. There should be times when it is obvious that such jokes were not appropriate. The Thanagarian scowled, though she wasn't sure if it was to her or Wyatt until he responded with a 'Very' to his question. "Now is not a time of jokes, so yes, that would be very inappropriate," she said, agreeing with the Thanagarian. The birdman seemed to have taken a moment to process what Lucy had said, because that wing flapping seemed to become stronger, as if with more attempt to either attack of flee. "Traitor? What have I done to called a 'traitor'. Arrogant little brat, you're no princess of mine and she is not my queen. I don't need to take this from the likes of you," he sneered. However, thankfully, he did not try to flee. She supposed he understood the repercussions of such a thing. She had to dig her nails into her palms a little harder to try and remind herself to behave. She wanted so badly to simply fire and bring harm but now, not only did she have the eyes of a few spectators to the event, but also one she actually cared the opinion of. She heard the question, though didn't quite know who had asked it. She figured it was the thing following Wyatt around. Luci didn't address it, though. Rather, she addressed the creature she was arresting. "You are under arrest under suspicion of conspiracy against the queen and her life," she stated. That seemed to ruffle the things feathers a little as he lowered himself to the ground properly. There was a mix of annoyance and confusion in his features but she swore that she also saw a hint of something else. As if he might know something, or heard something. However, the shaking of his head and the denial of such actions tried to make her believe otherwise. She had such little trust in these creatures, though. "Do not lie to me, vile creature. I do not have the time for this, nor do I really care what state you are in when you are brought in. Now, you have two choices. We can do this the hard way and you can end up unconscious or even beyond that, as I could care less if you survive this encounter. Or you can surrender and tell me anything you might know in order to keep your freedoms. Lying to me is only going to end one way."631 | Wyatt Andrews | I don't know how it ended up being six hundred words xD i thought it was going to be shorter because, personally, i think that she's still being a bit off with her muse. also, focus kept going in and out, but here you are ^.^ I hope it's okay~ |

"You know, you can just call me 'Wyatt'." The aforementioned human offered as he tried to glean whatever he could from the situation. It was, however, pretty self-explanatory on the face of it all. Lucy (or 'Princess Luciand'r' as she would be properly known on Rann) was going to arrest someone, apparently for treason. They were resisting.
A quick bit of mental math placed the potential for this to get ugly at nearly 100%, which was an issue. Still, it was nice that Lucy at least didn't want to harm him in the process of making said arrest.
Honestly, Wyatt wasn't sure what he should, or would, do if the Thanagarian tried to flee. On the one hand, he was pretty sure questioning a random passerby on the streets for a crime was a wild goose chase (and he tried not to grin at the unintentional bird comparison). On the other hand, if he fled, he had little doubt one of two things would happen: Lucy would pursue, injure, and possibly kill him or... he'd escape and then Lucy would be 'disciplined' by her mother for the failure.
"What, if I may ask," Lestrade broke the silence from the visiting duo, though, as Lucy read off the charges. "is the evidence you possess that this particular individual is involved in such a conspiracy? I don't have a great deal of knowledge of Rannian law, but I imagine you still need proof to make an arrest?"
"...It seems... unlikely." Wyatt offered up. "In all likelihood, since Queen Komand'r took over," here he deigned, for the moment, to use her proper title, rather than one of the numerous insulting nicknames the Queen had acquired over the years. "that Rannian law presumes you are guilty until proven innocent..."
Still, though, he cleared his throat rather loudly in case his conversation with Lestrade had gone unnoticed before placing a hand on Lucy's shoulder. One way or the next, he supposed, he should try to keep a brawl from starting. "If you'll permit me a bit of latitude, Princess," He tried out his very best 'I'm a reasonable, intelligent person' voice. "threats of violence and torture do not make for a good interrogation strategy. Confessions are always suspect, in likelihood they will say whatever they think you want to hear. It's... ineffective. Perhaps we could attempt something more... civil? A more conventional investigation? Assuming you'd like to hire an independent consultant?"

I'm an assassin and I had a job to do
The Thanagarian's wings seemed to completely settle as he glanced around, looking to the others around him. The look in his eyes still led her to believe he knew something. He might not be personally involved but he knew something and that made Lucy seem to tense that much more. She started to focus some of her usual starbolt energy into her hands, a purple glow starting to form around them as she watched the birdman. "Are you going to simply ignore me now? How unfortunate. I do hope you are wishing to come with me or else i cannot be certain of how much there will be left of you." The threat, no, the promise didn't seem to effect him much, he was being quiet now. He did seem to take the smallest of steps back and she shook her head. Before she could act as she would have usually, she felt a hand on her shoulder. Honestly, it took a lot of control to not simply hit him, even after she heard his voice, because she was at the ready to strike, felt like she needed to strike. But she took a deep breathe and slowly tried to force her hands to uncurl out of their fists. The Thanagarian, luckily, didn't move as she flicked her gaze over her shoulders at the slightly older blonde. "I am sorry, Wyatt, but it is more than likely for the best that you do not get involved. This is a Rannian matter regarding the Royal family, not some human commoner."She winced at the words she found herself speaking. Even to her, they felt wrong, rude. And after eyeing her suspect for a moment, she sighed and decided to concede. "However, I suppose there is no issue with hiring a consultant to assist in this, er... case." She let the energy dissipate from her hands and she gestured towards the Thanagarian. "Thanagarian, you are lucky that I am favoring this 'consultant. If you will not listen to him, however, i can no longer promise your safety. Think of this as your final opportunity."xxx | Wyatt Andrews | i should have replied to this far sooner, so sorry ^^;; (also, it freakin' sucks and I am so sorry for that) |

(Holy crap this took a while for me to finally respond to)
Wyatt kept his face in the same genteel smile as Lucy spoke to him, even after referring to him as a 'human commoner'. He couldn't, after all, argue the point. Despite his own opinion of himself he had no particular titles to his name (well, 'Doctor', and he would argue until the day he died that just because the Kree shut down the academy he received that doctorate from did not mean he was no longer a doctor) unless one counted the fact that his grandmother had been, in fact, a deposed princess. Which he did... at least when it was convenient. "Common, perhaps, but I am also a genius." He remarked at last, emphasizing the last word and waggling his eyebrows a bit.
It was Lestrade, however, who spoke again when Lucy consented to hire Wyatt on as a consultant. "Will we be charging our usual fee for the Princess, sir, or are you going Pro Bono with this case?" He asked listlessly. Or perhaps his vocal unit was malfunctioning. Sometimes, Wyatt wasn't sure which it happened to be. Either way, the android waited stiffly for his creator's response.
"Pro Bono." The human nodded, sidling up next to Lucy. "It would be ungentlemanly to charge such a beautiful young lady for my services, after all." He added before sizing up the Thanagarian, who seemed to be doing the same in turn to the human interloper. Eventually, he broke out in the same wide smile he'd had earlier before looking to Lucy.
"If you think there's any reason to hold him for, we can take him somewhere for a more polite questioning. He may find that more agreeable than being accosted in the street. And more official." He added. "Alternatively, we could dive right into the hot-beds of Anti-Tameranean activity and see what information can be uncovered." Wyatt considered, speaking his plans out loud while keeping the Thanagarian firmly in his peripheral vision, judging his reactions to the words.
(Not the best, but once we get our momentum again it'll be fiiiiine.)

I'm an assassin and I had a job to do
Lucy kept her eyes narrowed on the Thanagarian, untrusting of him. She could see his wings constantly twitching, feathers ruffled as if he was guilty of something. Maybe he wasn't guilty of being apart of the group aiming to kill her mother, but he definitely knew something. She was sure of that. What she wanted more than anything else was to simply fire at the bird man, try and rip his wings from his body so he couldn't fly, or get the answers she wanted before that happened. Komand'r wanted them all wiped out, the alien princess understood that, and she would kill whoever was in the way of that. But giving even the smallest glance over to the blonde human close to her also made her realize that she didn't have it in her to do any sort of damage to him. She would sooner run away from her mother than hurt him. She resisted the urge to chuckle at the emphasis he put in the word genius. "Yes, you do have rather impeccable intellect, that is true. I do not believe anyone could really deny such. However, that does not make you any less a commoner in the eyes of her majesty." Actually, her mother would think of him as even less, considering his human exterior. She knew just how low her mother thought of him, she had made threats in the past using him as the crux. And then her eyes slid to his robotic companion, hearing his question. She was about to speak up, tell him that she could easily pay him whatever his asking price was but Wyatt seemed to see things in a different light. She had to turn her face away from him at the compliment. If she didn't look, she figured there wouldn't be the issue of possible blood and hear rushing to her cheeks. "The thanagarian may not be guilty of the conspiracy i believe him to be. However, he clearly knows something of the matter. He grows clearly nervous and his eyes are darting. He knows what i speak of." She paused then, though, looking back over towards Wyatt. She stared at him for a moment before letting out a soft sigh. "However, I believe, as my consultant... perhaps it is best you be the decider of that. Which ever solution would be more fruitful. I do think, if he does know something, at the very least he be locked up so that, if we do simply... dive into Anti-Tamaranean activity... he does not have the option of flying off to warn his co-conspirators."Little did I know, that girl was an assassin too ✿

Unfortunately for Wyatt, the Thanagarian in question wasn't particularly instructive with his body language. Then again, given they were a completely different species from Wyatt himself it was also completely possible that the differences between human and Thanagarian 'body language' was a wide enough gulf that the winged alien had given up the game long ago and he hadn't realized it. Of course, thoughts that he might have screwed up already were pushed quickly out of his mind. Instead he returned his attention towards Lucy's remarks.
"Well, nobody said I had to go and visit her majesty." He pointed out, slipping his hands into his pockets as he closed his eyes. "Just think of me as a silent partner. I'll accompany you where necessary and offer up my insights on the case. But, any time your mother is involved, I'll let you handle it yourself while Lestrade and I poke at other angles of the case."
"There aren't many angles at the moment." Lestrade offered blandly, making a great show of rolling his eyes.
Wyatt may have had some choice words for the robot, but fortunately Lucy had begun speaking to him again, his eyes opening suddenly. "Well now, the obvious solution WOULD be to bring him into a controlled region where we can question him legally. Or... you know, in a way that doesn't violate the rights of a sentient being." He finally suggested.
