Walter stood outside the enormous skyscraper that served as the headquarters of Stark Industries. Inside was Virginia Stark, whom he had wished to meet for some time now. This was not only for the obvious reasons- Walt would likely have enjoyed meeting any attractive twenty-something, descended from greatness, who spent her free time flying around in a top-of-the-line pilotable weapon and her not-free time running Stark Industries. But Walt had another, better reason for coming.
Walt was here to get a job.
He was wearing a skinny black suit and a matching tie, his hair slicked back, and even Marty had had to admit that he looked good. Still craning his neck upwards, he smiled brightly up at the blazing sun. Then, tilting his down to face the entrance, he started in.
The receptionist smiled warmly up at him. "Hello, and welcome to Stark Industries! How may I help you today?"
Walt returned the smile, adding a touch of confidence. "I'm here to see Miss Stark. I'm afraid I don't have an appointment, and I'm sure she's terribly busy, but I do believe I have something of great interest to show her." Here he lifted the suitcase he was carrying and gently placed it just in front of him on the receptionist's desk.
Her expression rearranged itself into one of controlled yet undeniable curiosity, and then she looked apologetically up at Walt.
"I'm sorry, sir, but Miss Stark has specifically requested that she not be interrupted today. But..." -she added hurriedly- "I would be more than happy to pass this on to her, and maybe attempt to schedule an appointment?"
Walt liked this girl- he got the feeling she was polite even when she wasn't being paid to be- but he intended to see her employer, which was unlikely to happen if he spent all day in the waiting room.
"That's very kind, but I'm afraid I'll have to pass. I'm always in a bit of a rush, it seems." Walt's tone and expression were friendly as he smiled goodbye to the young woman. "Please have a good day, alright? I'm sure I'll see you soon."
"Okay, yes, sir, and you enjoy your day as well!" Walt smiled. He knew he would.
Stepping back outside, he drew a deep breath. Villainous dungeons and corporate headquarters were all the same, it seemed. The front door was never easy.
A half-second later he was sitting in the chair across from Ginnie Stark's desk in her office, wearing a polite smile, still in his suit, resting his briefcase in his lap and smoothing his wind-tousled hair back with one hand.
He waited for her to arrive.

Here's to being human and taking it for granted Ginnie's eyes seemed to go back and forth from focusing on her computer screen to going back to the blueprint she was drawing up for a new design. She had figured that she would at least start on some preliminary sketches to go over with James about the T'Shan problem they had talked about. It was something that she figured would do a lot of good were that Asgardian idiot to ever wind up being more trouble than he was worth. True, it might have seemed cruel, but one could never be too prepared. Plus, she wanted something that would at least seem impressive to show James when they actually started the project together. Not that she had any real need to impress him. On her computer screen, there were several windows depicting research done on Asgardians as well as a few files she had written on Thor from both mythology and history and then the file on T'shan's stats she had written. She figured they were all necessary to reference while working. She spent a good bit of her morning working on this. It was important to her, and, well, she didn't have any real appointments today. She had a few phone calls she was needing to make that afternoon, but that was really about it. She got lost in her work, though, eventually, there was a soft rumble in her stomach telling her that she needed to go and eat. She was quite reluctant at first, kept on telling herself that she just wanted to work out one more small detail. And then another and another. It wasn't until the voice of JARVIS rung in her ears telling her that her work would still be there when she got back that she finally listened. She sighed, tidying up the papers and putting them away before locking down her computer and heading out of her office. She had herself a lunch packed away in the lounge anyway that she could eat. Some left over Chinese from the other day. Ginnie couldn't have been gone from her office for more than fifteen minutes when her earpiece started to buzz with that voice again. "Miss Stark, it appears that someone has entered your office." The brunette grumbled softly to herself as she finished one last bite and put the food away. Well, at least she'd gotten a few bites in. "Send a message over to security and put them on standby," she told the AI. With him being so integrated into her systems, it wouldn't be hard for him to pass the message along. Part of her half hoped it was one of the few people she actually liked just dropping in for a visit, though she highly doubted that. Even if it was, her receptionist was given strict orders. The only people allowed would have been family. She came back to her office, keeping her expression neutral as she opened the door. "You have about thirty seconds until security arrives. Either give me good reason to not have them toss you in a cell or get out." She didn't even bother looking over at him as she walked in and passed, heading back to her desk. When this was taken care of, perhaps she'd go and finish her lunch. Likelihood was that she wouldn't but it was nice to tell herself she would every once in a while. She had more important matters to work on anyway. The highs and lows of living, to getting second chances ✿

Walt smiled down at his folded hands while Miss Stark simultaneously threatened him and granted him an audience. Then, hands still folded, he smiled as brightly as he could. "Fair enough," he said.
"Miss Stark, I don't mean to waste your time. I certainly don't wish to place any of your staff in any trouble. I can assure you that none of them had any hand in escorting me here.
Miss Stark, my name is Walter West. I'd like to work here, at Stark Industries. Before you decline, I only ask that you look at my resumé. It will take you no more than fifteen seconds and you will be thankful for the rest of your life." As he said this, valiantly attempting a bold combination of humility and sincerity, he leaned down towards his briefcase, unbuckled it, and withdrew several sheets of paper.
One was a congratulatory letter from the Director of Science & Engineering at SI, commending him for his "inspired" work in improving their designs for a self-revitalizing arc reactor that could replace outdated electrical systems in poorer sectors of New York.
Another of the papers was a color photograph of Walter, again in a suit, shaking hands with a group of Japanese men, also in suits. Each of them, including Walt, was smiling broadly. Attached to the photo was a short, scribbled letter thar read: "Mr. West- Our thanks to you for making the trip- we will be in touch!" A week after this photo had been taken, Walt recalled, the joint project between Stark Industries and an overseas competitor had commenced, and two months after that, Stark had owned the other company.
As Walt explained each of the papers, which also included a BAR certification in the state of New York, as well as a copy of Stark Industries' itinerary for the next fiscal year, (which, of course, was far from public knowledge,) he slowly settled into a confident mood, all the while speaking slowly and maintaining his humble demeanor.
One of the other files- Walt's favorite- was a series of blueprints for the Iron Maiden armor. The first time Walt had seen it, he had been stunned by the machine, nearly fanboying as he watched it go flying through the skies of New York. Soon, however, he had become unimpressed with Ginnie's suit, but, oddly, he didn't forget it, as so often happened to the objects of a speedster's fancy. And a month later, he had had the idea to come here. So he had spent the next three months working for the company without the company, or anyone else, knowing, and in that time he had learned enough about each division of the company to earn praise from nearly every department head. What he had learned from working, coupled with what he had come to understand from the internet and the libraries at several different universities, had led to the development of what he believed were some incredible new ideas for the suit. The advantages of being a speedster were apparently not lost on the professional sector.
"...So, as I'm nearing the end of my alloted time, I should tell you that, in addition to my versatility as an employee, I am also /quite/ single," Walt joked, finishing with a barely-contained wry smile. Anticipating at least of moment of stunned silence, Walt fell silent himself. /This is going well,/ he thought. /I can't wait to tell security./

Here's to being human and taking it for granted She sat down calmly in her seat, pushing the computer screen slightly so that it was tilted away. It might not be the most professional, but she had an image of Aileen and herself as her screen saver. The Stark Industries logo bounced from corner to corner across it, which she felt probably made it professional enough, right? Of course! She was pretty sure it was reflected in the window behind her, but she hardly cared. She folded her hands over her desk as she turned her stormy blue eyes towards the orange haired boy. There was something almost familiar about him, though she couldn't quite place her finger on it. It was probably nothing, really. The young man probably just had one of those faces. She watched him with mild curiosity as he spoke, though there was a touch of annoyance in her when he said that her staff hadn't escorted him in here. "You realize you just admitted to breaking in here then, yes?" she asked. She kept her voice calm, relaxed, neutral. She didn't want any hints of emotion showing through it. Still, she didn't make a show of trying to escort him out. It was a bold move to simply break into here. He wouldn't have been the first to try, but very few really seemed to succeed in getting past the, well, everything, especially without her security taking notice. Only JARVIS had picked it up, then again, he monitors everything. She made a mental note of the kids name: Walter West. She'd pull some files up on him later. Shouldn't be all that hard for her to find, after all. As she was handed some papers he took out of a briefcase she started looking them over, her eyes skimming over the pages quickly. Most of it was quite impressive, if she were to be honest. But there were a few things that seemed to get under her skin. Namely, the blue prints on a rough Iron Maiden suit. Things like that not even some of the best hackers could get. They've tried. It wasn't her exact suit, looking off the blue prints she could tell. No, most of her schematics were saved into encrypted hard drives to keep from being stolen, which was hidden in her condo. But these prints seemed close enough for it to bother her. She tapped the edge of the papers on her desk to align them before setting them down, folding her hands once more over top of them. She had the blueprints on the top as she was going to have a lengthy conversation with him about that. Before possibly tossing him out a window for having them. She got a wee bit defensive over her technology. She remember the last guy who tried to make something. That... hadn't ended too well for the man. Still, she doesn't let her emotions show through. She rolls her eyes at the boy's comment before focusing them on one of the guards standing out by her door. She raised a hand and waved him away. The security guard simply nodded his head and started to head away, though she was sure JARVIS would have others on standby if anything happened in here. The guard closed her door behind him. Smart man. "Quite single? That's so nice to hear. I'm not," she lied. Well, it was mostly a lie. She was single, but her heart beat to someone else's tune. "Your resumé is a bit more impressive than I honestly thought it would be. However, I have two questions for you. What makes you think I'd have any interest in hiring someone who both admitted to breaking in and then handed me my own knock off blueprints? And what could you offer this company that would make you impossible to refuse?"639 | Walter West | I laughed so hard at the 'I am also quite single' comment xD |

He smiled.
He retained his posture and straightened his tie, alloting himself a moment before speaking.
"To answer your questions, in order, ma'am... first, because if I could do it once, I can do it again. And second, you need me because I can do the job of anybody on your staff, and, with few exceptions, I could do it better. I can't replace Jarvis." He made a mental note not to mention the AI again, predicting how Ginnie would react if she knew how much /Walt/ knew about him.
"I admit that freely." /Although I'm not sure it's true.../ he thought involuntarily before shoving the arrogance out of his mind.
He leaned forward slightly. "But I /can/ replace at least a dozen of your top people. I can do the work of anyone you can name, and I can do it better, faster, and at a fraction of the salary. But that's not why you should hire me. You should do it because, at the present moment, you cannot conceive the good that the two of us could achieve together. I could've gone to AIM, HYDRA, or even SHIELD, but I couldn't do that in good conscience. That's why you should hire me. Good conscience."
Walt was wearing a peculiar, peaceful smile. He had dreamed for a long time of working for this company and for this woman, and he felt more like a hero now than he had in quite a while.
He was going to do some incredible things for this company... whether they hired him or not.
"You tell me what you want done, ma'am, and it'll be done quicker than you can believe. That's my word I'm giving you. Just give me one chance."

Here's to being human and taking it for granted He was pretty arrogant. More arrogant than even T'shan it seemed at the moment. Could replace anyone on her staff? She highly doubted that. A good few of them had many years with this company, others have had decades. People like them, with that much experience? They were not the ones that were so easily replaced. Because they all had something in common that this boy doesn't. Her trust. And if there was anything that was most definitely needed when running a company like this, it was trust in those who work for you. And, right now, she found it very hard that she would be able to even trust this intruder with handling her coffee, let alone anything else within her business. But, she didn't say that right away. No, she figured that she would at least give him a chance to keep talking. She would hear him out, she figured it was the least she could do. She didn't need to, though, when she really thought about it. She didn't know him, she didn't have an appointment with him, he's not a familial friend, she didn't owe him a damn thing. "On the outside, you may appear to be able to do just what they all can. Maybe you can do it better or faster or more efficiently, but you could never replace them, Mr. West. I'm sorry to burst whatever delusional bubble you seem to be living in but it takes a lot more than talent to replaces the men and women who have been working for this company most of their lives." She paused just then, processing the rest of his sentence. She couldn't help but feel a little proud of that little fact. The fact that the only company he could go to in good conscience was Stark Industries. Although, at the same time, it did leave her just ever so miffed. She might not like the fact, but she was a member of SHIELD herself. Not a full fledged agent, but she was on-call whenever her expertise was needed. She didn't let that fact get to her, though, not when she thought of the point he was getting at. She supposed it was a decent enough argument. And, despite the obvious ego he was suffering from, he was at least persistent. "A chance, huh? How about you start by going over there and get me a drink," she ordered, keeping her eyes on him as she gestured over towards her bar. "And while you're doing that, give, say, an actual example of what you can do for this company rather than try and insist you can do a better job than people you don't even know."The highs and lows of living, to getting second chances ✿

Walter smiled gently. He thought this was going well. He was at least making a better impression than most of the media representatives he had seen Stark interact with, and he honestly hadn't meant any offense by what he said.
"You're right. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have made it sound as though the only thing that makes a person valuable is their resumé. That's not what I believe."
As he got up to go to the bar, he considered actually trying to mix a drink, but seeing as he was anatomically incapable of getting drunk, and therefore wasn't much of a drinker, he decided against it. Instead, when he ducked down under the bar (and out of sight,) he left the office, ran to the nearest, classiest club, and ransacked the bar there until he found the recipe book. Finally, he flipped through it, memorizing the proportions for each, and returned to Ginnie's office, all in less time than it took for her to get suspicious. Two seconds, perhaps. Then he flattened his hair again and rose.
As he began mixing her drink, he responded to her inquiry He was sure that he could help here. He just had to convince her of that.
"Well, ma'am, you want to know what I can do for you; to that I only wonder what you'd like done first. I could have a revised set of blueprints for the suit on your desk tomorrow morning. Maybe nothing jaw-dropping, but certainly, at least, a more efficient power grid. In fact, I'm pretty sure that we could squeeze at least another 6% out of your reactor. The current one, I mean. But I know full well that I'm not getting anywhere near that modern miracle anytime soon, and I fully respect that. So let's talk about what I can do for you today."
"By the time you turn the lights off in this office tonight, I could have your suit flying faster, your errand book clean for the next month, and your biggest competitor begging your receptionist to let him schedule a meeting. I could give you the names of two of your employees that are currently working as spies for Hammer Industries." Walt was glad, as he said this, that he had spent his moths undercover at SI to do some corporate espionage of his own. He did feel a twinge of guilt and sympathy, sharing this right after hearing firsthand how important trust was to Miss Stark, but this, he knew, was for the greater good.
"Six hours from now, I could give you a complete financial rundown of any rival company of your choosing. Stocks, equities, potential involvement in major drug rings, criminal organizations, laundering, smuggling- hell, I could get you a handwritten invitation to AIM's CEO's grandaughter's birthday party, which I know for a fact is next Thursday."
Walt was overwhelming even himself, he noticed, and cleared his throat to compose himself.
He walked over and handed her her drink before continuing speaking calmly with his hands in his pockets. "But I'm sure you're much too busy for that. The point is, Miss Stark, that I can do for this company what no one else can. I am eager to help you."
He decided to be bold once more.
"Now, Miss Stark..." he started, "I'd like to ask you just one question, if you'll permit me, and I beg you to be honest and forthright with me." He spoke slowfully, respectfully, almost pleadingly.
"What do you need done?"

Here's to being human and taking it for granted "It's quite alright, just watch your words, Mister West." She could hear that familiar buzz in her ear, JARVIS simply informing her that he was going to start running programs and files to pull up information on this Walter West for her. She nodded her head, though didn't say anything. JARVIS might not be able to hear or comprehend a head nod, but she liked to think he could. She always forgot that he was just a computer and not a real person. Her fingers tapped lightly on her desk as she waited, noticing him duck under the bar. She wasn't sure what he was doing. All she did was ask for a simple drink. But she wasn't going to complain. If he wanted to try and win her over with something more, then that was fine by her. Just meant it would taste better, so long as it was done right at least. And it wasn't like he was completely out of sight for too long. Still, she was going to have to keep a very close eye on him until he was out of her hair. As he started to speak, she listened intently. At first, she didn't really seem to care that much. She hardly believed most people when they tried to say they could do anything to improve on her own suit that she doesn't already have prototypes worked out of. However, that wasn't what she cared about. No, the more he spoke, while a couple of the things he said seemed to get under her skin, she was growing quite impressed with him. Maybe there was something that he could do for her. Like he said, she could at least give him a chance. Hearing that some of her employees were working for HAMMER really pissed her off, but she also knew it was possible he was lying. Still, she'd get those names later. His determination, his will, his spunk, those are what spoke to her most. There was a small smile slowly pulling at the corners of her lips. Nothing too noticeable, but yet it was clearly starting to form. He seemed to speak just about as fast her as mind usually seemed to run, which was also rather impressive, if she was going to be honest. Virginia took the drink from him and gave a small nod in thanks before taking a sip. Dammit, how she'd been so hoping he'd give her just one reason to not want to give him a chance, even if it was something as small as a terribly made drink. But she didn't seem to be having any sort of luck that way. Only real thing she could even cling to as to why he didn't deserve a chance was the breaking and entering and even that she wasn't entirely sure she could hold over his head, not with the way he spoke. No, she adored a kid with such aspirations, one not too willing to take no for an answer. And this Walter was certainly that type from what she could see. She was quiet for a few moments, her eyes on her glass as she thought, taking an occasional small sip. After those few moments, she set the glass down and turned her eyes to the ginger again. "What you can do for me in this moment? You can tell me the names of those employees to start with. And then we'll work on the other things on that little list of yours." She offered him just a small, albeit somewhat weary smile. "You said you wanted a chance. How about I give you a trial period? And if you prove to me you're as useful as you insist you are, maybe there's a spot here for you."632 | Walter West | Somehow longer than I thought it would be... hopefully it's alright, though. |

"I'm already in your debt for that, ma'am. I thank you."
Walt was ecstatic, but he tried to express his appreciation calmly. He had absolutely no qualms about sharing the names of her unreliable employees, especially as he was already beginning to adore his prospective employer for offering him a chance- a "trial period", as she put it. She only hoped it would not hurt her too much to have her trust damaged.
He took only have a moment before speaking the two names slowly and quietly.
"Victor Moravian. And Miranda Salver. Moravian is an engineer, and Salver is a secretary working for the accounting department. Neither have any records associated with their Stark Industries accounts- they weren't nearly so stupid- but I brought you this." At this point he withdrew a flash drive from his briefcase and placed it gently on the desk between himself and Miss Stark. "It contains a summary of the interactions with Hammer during their time working for SI. Personal correspondence, video of their occasional personal meetings with Hammer executives, and a few encrypted files they had managed to smuggle out. They've already been cracked, and their own copies have been deleted, but they will almost certainly try again when Hammer finds out."
Walt didn't enjoy sharing this with Stark. He couldn't imagine her reaction to betrayal, but he suspected that it was similar to his own. He admired her for that.
"I'm sorry to have to tell you all that, ma'am." He waited a beat. She would be angry. He might have to explain how he had managed to collect this data, but that was alright. He trusted her, and he would do what it took to earn her trust in return.
"How is your drink?"

Here's to being human and taking it for granted Egoist or not, at least the boy knew how to be polite. That was at least a small plus, something to earn him some form of points in his favor. She might not trust this kid, actually, she was pretty much banking on him doing something to mess with that trust one way or another, but at least he was decent. Aside from a few things. "Just don't make me regret this decision." Part of her, probably somewhere closer to the surface than she really wanted to admit, wanted to add some small veiled threat. Possible using the archer or captain she had at her disposal but that would be incredibly unprofessional and, if she was anything, she liked to think that she was a professional. She reached into her desk to grab a notepad so that she could jot down what he said, practically writing it word for word to make sure that she had it as a sort of testament or confession. She didn't like this, not at all. It would have been like being told she had people from Stane working under her just to steal from her, though, admittedly, HAMMER was a much bigger issue. Stane, she knew she could deal with. Hell, if she really wanted to, and had the right backing, part of her was sure she could buy them out. If she really tried that is. But HAMMER was always a bit finicky and she didn't like anyone having anything on her company that she didn't have as public knowledge. It was for reasons like that that she kept all her personal files on a separate and heavily guarded server. After writing down what he said, she gently put the note pad and pencil down in order to pick up the flash drive. She turned it over in her hand, examining the outside of it carefully. She'd check it out later for sure but for now, she wanted to focus on Walter. "Don't apologize, you're not the reason that they're working for the competition." Though it did make her sick on the inside that they might. She didn't want to believe it until she looked at the flash drive herself. Something told her that she wasn't going to be going home tonight. Not unless someone dragged her there. She was trying to keep her emotions veiled, biting back on her frustration as best she could. Dealing with T'shan probably helped with that matter a lot more than she'd ever give him credit for, actually. "No, what you should be telling me is just how you came across this information? As I can only assume the worst in how you might know."As her attention was brought back to her drink (which, honestly, she'd somehow managed to forget about), she slipped the flash drive into a safe spot in her desk and went to pick up her glass for another small sip, another taste. "If I"m to be honest? It's a lot better than I thought it would be. You don't really strike me as the type to do much mixing of drinks but this is quite remarkable. I'd even say seemingly professional." It'd be a plus to have someone around, even if only for a month, who could mix her drinks like this. Aileen would probably get on her ass for drinking at work. Actually... she could see her mother trying to say something, too, but they didn't need to know just how often it happened. What could she say? It was a marvelous way to slow down a mind that goes too fast for it's own good. "Do you do this often?" She asked, lifting the glass slightly to indicate the drink. "Actually, no." Walt said, relaxing into an easy smile. "But I'd be happy to have some practice. Perhaps if other skills prove unimpressive, I could serve you most favorably as a bartender."
He adjusted his expression to be a bit more professional. "Of course you'd like to know how I came across this information. I'd expect nothing less. So I'll tell you.
I very much want to work here, Miss Stark, as I've stated. So when I became aware of the fact that there were dissenters in your flock, I took it upon myself to learn as much as I could.
I broke the law to learn what I did. That's the truth. But I don't want you to think that I'm some career criminal, or anything like that. Quite the opposite. I simply possess the skills to pursue those who seek injustice.
In this case, it was nothing too dramatic. The correspondence I obtained from their personal laptops. They were stolen for that time, I admit, but they were gone only for a few..." (/seconds/, he thought,) "...hours. They were returned thereafter, and their owners suspected nothing.
The video I took personally. It was simple enough. I hope that doesn't sound arrogant, ma'am. But the fact of the matter, Miss Stark, is that I have skills. And I'd very much like to put them to work for you."
Walt sat back in his chair, satisfied. He liked telling the truth- he especially liked telling Ginnie.

Here's to being human and taking it for granted "You wouldn't even believe how useful a good bartender around here would be. Though, I don't think giving you such a title would bode well with my parents. Or the public. But it might be put into your job description." Deep down, she wished that she was joking when she said that. It would have made her seem less... reliant, you could say. But no, she was far too serious about the subject. It would be nice. And she wouldn't have to get up nearly as often to get herself a drink. Though she was sure the AI in her ear would give her some lecture about drinking during the day. To which she always thinks to say 'it's five o'clock somewhere'. "But let's not put your skills in the useless as anything but a bartender category just yet. You haven't really proven anything yet. Aside from a knack to disobey security protocol and a good mixed drink." Actually, he'd proven much more than that, but she'd already seen a bit of his ego, she wasn't about to feed it anymore. She didn't want to go through it too fast, so after another small sip, she placed it back down. She was somewhat amused by how quickly he shifted from such jovialness back to pure professionalism. It was a nice mix, though she wouldn't lie. What he said wasn't exactly something she appreciated much. However, he had integrity and honesty at lest, and that was something that she could use around here, apparently. "I hope you know, if I do hire you, you can't go around breaking the law like this. It's one thing if it's, saw, accidental and once. But it's something very different when it's done with intent. Something like that requires warrants. Simply going through their personal affects like that, if it's found out that I obtained this information through less than legal adversaries, I can be sued for firing them." She paused, relaxing slightly. "With that being said, I am quite impressed. Disappointed in the way you got the information, but impressed." She glanced back down at the blueprint on her desk. Might as well ask about it as well while she was here. She held down the other things on it and slid the blue print out, holding it up for him to see. "And what about this? Where did you find this at?"399 | Walter West | Okay, so, I spent a good while trying to get a reply done with nora but, after how forced the first one I did was, I just couldn't seem to get one for you done. It'll be there soon but, for now, here's ginnie xD |

Walt refrained from beaming after a brief, unnoticeable struggle.
But this next question would be harder to answer.
"The specifications from the suit itself are a well-informed inference, based off of available data from your father's suit, in addition to what I could gleam from observation. What you hold there is merely a testament to my dedication to understanding the suit inasmuch as you have allowed me as of yet. Without doubt, there are some flaws in that copy, but, yes, it is a near-perfect replica of one of your earlier edtions."
"I have... I guess you could say I have a knack for understanding how things work. After my time at your company, I understand much more than I used to about this sort of thing. Everything that went into that suit seemed to come from some derivative of Stark technology. But I believe there remains room for improvement, Miss Stark, and, if you'd ever permit me, I think I could explore those opportunities with even the slightest bit of information you could provide." He realized he was asking a lot, and explained hastily.
"It doesn't have to be current or sensitive, whatever you share, and I can swear to investigate strictly within whatever parameters you provide. And I could work with outdated statistics, test footage, obsolete hardware- anything."
"But until then, of course I would be willing to do whatever it takes to earn your trust." He was was desperate to do so, and added, with only a touch of mock reluctance, "Even if it means following the law. But I can assure you that, as for what you already have, nobody will know how you got it."

Here's to being human and taking it for granted "Oh, there are quite a few flaws, no doubt. I can spot at least five from first glance. And as impressive as such dedication is, I must say that it isn't as appreciated as you might think it is. And while some people might say that 'mimicry is the highest form of flattery'. In this case, I hope you haven't a plan to use those prints to try and build a replica as you won't last as long as I'm sure you'd be hoping to, Mister West." It wasn't exactly a threat, or at least not a veiled one. She probably shouldn't go threatening potential employees like that but, well, to her, her tech was pretty much as important to her as a child would be to most other people in the world. She took a lot of time, but a lot of effort into them and, well, she'd never been a fan of people using things that were meant to be private. It would have probably been worse if it were, say JARVIS he'd had schematics for, or even Friday. She didn't use Friday really herself but that was one of her father's and, well, Friday had been part of how she worked out JARVIS in the first place. No if only she put in the effort to create a body of some sort for the AI... She was mentally getting off track, though, and she quickly brought it back in on Walter. She listened and, after a moment, she nodded her head. "We'll see. If you prove yourself trustworthy enough maybe, just maybe, i'll give you a chance or two with some of the tech. I'm not going to make any sort of promises because, well, the tech has quite a special place in my heart to me but someone as enthusiastic as you are? I might be able to make an exception once your trial period has ended." She tapped her fingers lightly on her desk, considering taking another drink from her glass but, well... she knew she shouldn't go through it as fast as she wanted to. Perhaps she'll hit a bar or something before heading home. "Everything has room for improvement and I am constantly improving on my design. Have to make sure my suit is as efficient as it can possible be, after all.""As impressed as I am with your ability to break the law without getting caught, perhaps working with a bit of discretion might be a smart choice to start with. Start with getting me the information I already asked of you and then we will continue." She kept on drumming her fingers, create a small rhythm with them. One that she started countering the beat to with quiet foot taps. "So, if you are going to be working for me, and you will be working where I can make sure a close eye is kept, tell me about yourself a bit more. Just who is Walter West?"497 | Walter West James Barnes Jr? | so, i owe you many apologies for being a horrible member with my posting ^^; also, tagging James because I think that Trix said that he's throwing him in |

Walter waited with respectful patience as Ginnie first called him out on the flaws of his suit blueprints and then reassured him of his potential as a Stark employee. /Stupid,/ he berated himself mentally. /Next time maybe you'll spend more time on your visual aid and less time picking out a suit to impress the boss./ Still, he knew this was going well.
"Naturally, you alone are the only expert in this particular field," Walt said, putting his hands up in a gentle display of apology. "But I must remind you that this was only what I could do after rooting through your dumpster." Another small smile.
Then he positively glowed when Ginnie asked him about himself. He couldn't help it. He almost blushed.
Where to start?
"Well," he started hurriedly, before hastily regaining his composure.
"I'm nineteen. I live with my father, who worked in law enforcement until recently, when he retired. I learned much of what I know from him. Much of my family, in fact, has contributed to my education. You could say I've been homeschooled."
The hardest part of this process was resisting the urge to tell Ginnie everything, dashing away in front of her and returning with another drink, all the while excitedly relating his heroic resumé in a clearheaded attempt to impress her. Hero-worship, it seemed, was to be added to his list of weaknesses.
Instead, his worked to keep his voice calm and his words relevant.
"I recognize your concern with my apparent disregard for convention. I admit that I have struggled in some superficial fashion with this issue for much of my life. However- and again I find myself begging you to trust me- the only reason I've ever done so is my belief that the law, for all its worth, at times restricts my potential to do good." Again, he could sense the pleading, repentant honesty in his own eyes.
"As far as my personal history in regard to my value to this company, I would say that it's been stated concisely. I can do things, learn things, make things faster than anyone... that I know." He finished thusly in a late effort to remain humble.
"And if you were asking who I am when I'm not working, Miss Stark, I should think my answer to be quite a bit simpler. First... I'm always working," he stated matter-of-factly with a smile. "'Who is Walter West?'" He repeated her question good-naturedly, almost shyly.
"Simply put, he's just a kid who wants to do the right thing."
