Jogging in place, Dinah waited for the light to change so she could cross the street and into the park. Her breath puffed out in little wispy clouds with her exertion. As the light changed green and the little man said walk, Dinah took off, her feet hitting the ground to the music in her ears. She would never admit out loud what she had on her player; Backstreet Boys would be a quick way to kill all her hard won heavy metal cred, but she loved to run to it. Which was something she hated in general. Running was never her favorite exercise. It was great for breathing control and cardio, but she'd much rather take on a heavy bag or tackle a set of parallel or uneven bars. But the running served a second purpose. Running along side someone or sitting down at a random park bench was less conspicuous than meeting her uncle at a restaurant for all the crazy idiots with cameras to goggle at.
She hated being famous some days.
But today was not about that. No, today she was meeting Thomas because something was bothering her. She had pieces to a puzzle but no box with the picture. She could see the pattern, and the clues had led her here to New York. But she wasn't a detective, at least not as good as her brother or Thomas. But she could see patterns. Things people missed or didn't think were connected. And she was sure the events she'd heard about in the news, industrial accidents, car crashes, supposed terrorist attacks, they weren't random. But she didn't know enough about international business or politics to get the why behind it all. So she'd called in an expert. Hopefully they could figure out who was the next target. Before something else happened.
She searched around as she entered the park, adjusting her baseball cap as she ran. She wasn't that far into the park, but she'd given Thomas a general area to be around to meet up. Then she stopped at a bench to stretch a bit, pretending to retie her shoe. She'd also let the Avengers know she'd be playing around in their backyard after the lovely altercation between Cap and Thomas last time the former was in Gotham. She figured it was only polite.
