Villain/Gotham/Twenty Four/In Love/Joker's Gang
Everyone in Gotham, and pretty much everyone in the wider US has heard of Harley Quinn. The most enthusiastic of the Joker's attack dogs, and the most tragic of the Joker's victims. What they don't all realise, however, is that there has been more than one Harley Quinn over the span of the criminal's career. Melody is the third incarnation of the villain, and, in a cruel twist of fate, she is the biological daughter of the first one, who grew up in an adoptive family. Josephine Lawler, the new Joker, came across her one day when she was recording for a movie and, posing as a fan, started to get her hooks into Melody, taking advantage of her naivety and instability. Then, leading Melody away from her family, Josie performed untellable horrors onto her, turning her into something more than human and fracturing her mind further, completing her transformation into Harley Quinn. As such, the Joker can often be seen with a pretty girl in red and black by her side, usually toting some oversized hammer or undersized shotgun. Despite the horrors done to her and the horrors she has done herself, Melody is still relatively naive and manipulatable. Don't mistake that for her being harmless however, as she's also unstable, quick to anger, obsessive and protective, and none of her obsessions are stronger than her one with Josie. If you try and hurt her friends or her Josie, she will do whatever she can to hurt you.
As for plotting, Melody's good for pretty much anything. She's probably one of the easier villains to make genuine friends with, as long as you catch her at a good moment and not one where she's more likely to hurt someone than not. She can be difficult to take seriously or keep friends with, due to her often-changing emotions and sometimes childlike behaviour, but if you can put in the effort, she can become a dedicated and loyal friend. As long as Josie doesn't mind. She works for the Joker and regularly robs banks and the like, so she's also pretty easy to make enemies with, especially if you're one of the Bats. If you are her enemy, she will dedicate a length amount of time to bringing you down, so long as Josie says its okay, and doesn't really do half measures, but she also might be a somewhat distractable and chatty enemy, often confusing people. In terms of lovers, she is absolutely dedicated to Josie and believes herself in love with her, but it's possible, although maybe not too likely, that cracks might show in that if she was shown some proper kindness by somebody who cares about her. She is also going to join the Suicide Squad soon, so that allows for plotting.
Relationships:
Josephine Lawler - Melody's obsession, "true love" and reason she is the way she is. Josie tells her to jump, Melody doesn't even bother to ask how high. She is fiercely dedicated to her Joker, despite all the mistreatment directed at her, and would forgive her anything. She does pretty much everything either in the hopes of impressing Josie and getting some genuine affection, or desperately hoping Josie won't find out about it and get mad at her. In short, it's a little bit messed up, but Melody doesn't mind. Well, visibly.
Isabella Woodrue - Melody's best, and possibly only, true friend. Her and Izzy have been incredibly close since Izzy tracked her down after the Battle, and, despite not telling each other about their separate criminal careers, Melody would trust her with pretty much anything. She also looks up to Izzy as something of an authority figure, and does basically what she's told. She's also frustrate that Izzy refuses to tell her who her mother is, but she doesn't question it too much. She's just happy she has a friend she can go any time she needs.
@maximus - Somebody who definitely seems to have taken an interest in Melody for reasons most sinister. He tracked her down one night after a heist and seems to have been trying to gain her confidence. Melody doesn't think he has any ulterior motives for getting to know her, just trying to meet Izzy's friends like he said. In short, Melody basically stands no chance against him, what with her naive and suggestible nature. He would definitely benefit from causing friction between the Joker and Harley Quinn, even if he probably wouldn't hurt Melody himself for Izzy's sake.
