It was a nice sunny day in New York City with people out and about enjoying the weather. While it was hot like any summer day, it wasn't overly hot to the point where one could make eggs on pavement. Unfortunately, the life of a reporter was a busy one and John had to interview the super hero known as Hawkeye for his blog at 9 in the morning. While officially, this was his second interview with a superhero with Superman being his first, it was technically his first since he fabricated the Superman interview as a means to control what information was being put out there about about his alter ego. The kryptonian hybrid could be seen standing outside the gates Avengers mansion wearing a light blue dress shirt with a red tie and a dark blue sweater vest over the shirt and tie. He also wore beige khaki pants, black dress shoes and his signature black glasses that distorted the color of his eyes from an otherworldly blue to a normal shade of blue that was rather unremarkable. With the intercom over on his right, John pressed the button and said "Hi, my name is John Kent of the Daily Planet and I'm scheduled to have an interview with Hawkeye today"As he waited for some kind of answer, he thought about what he knew first hand about Hawkeye with the most noticeable thing being that she was one of the few super heroes that did not have a secret identity which was something John himself would never do. After all, people would be able to get to him through his friends and he felt that Superman was too important of a symbol to be tarnished by the media learning everything about his personal life, especially whatever mistakes he has made. He also knew that she was human and that there were rumors she was either romantically attached to T'Shan, Iron Madain, the current Captain America or all three. And while John had very little interest in learning what famous person is dating who, he knew that was something his readers would want to know and that something that his mother, who is the editor and chief of the Planet specifically asked for. Aileen was sitting around in the Avengers Mansion, smoothing out the skirt of the dress she was wearing and hoping she wasn't overdressed or underdressed for her interview. It was hardly like it was the first she'd done, but usually her interviews were for magazines or tabloids, not big, important newspapers like the Daily Planet. And then there were photoshoots, but she wouldn't be doing one today. That was also pretty unusual for her. Usually the interviews were the first half, and then she put on something pretty and got pictures taken of her. Not this time.
She knew that she'd probably be fine, but that didn't stop her worrying. Not so much that she'd embarrass herself, she knew that the newspaper would edit it out for her. No, she was worried she'd say something she wasn't supposed to and Ginnie and the others would end up getting mad. Of course, Ginnie probably had enough money and clout to also get anything she accidentally let slip out of the article, it'd make them all look bad. Usually in magazine interviews, she'd be asked about her personal life and about the rumours of her and whichever superhero the media decided she was banging that week. But the newspaper would ask a bit about her personal life, possibly some about her modelling, but they'd want to know about her superhero life. The Avengers. Hawkeye. All that stuff. The drawback of having no double life.
She heard the voice on the intercom and spoke into it. "Yes, hello," They didn't exactly have a receptionist or anything, "I'm opening the doors for you, come on in." She flicked the doors to open for a couple of minutes, smoothing out her dress again. She'd had her hair done especially, but now she was worried it was too much. Ever since James' attack, Ginnie was wary about strangers in the tower, but Aileen had convinced her to let her have this one interview.

When John hear a voice coming from the intercom, he could tell right away that the voice belong to Aileen since he had seen televised appearances as part of his research. The gates opened as John took note of the cameras that were watching his every move and given how this was the base for the Avengers, he wouldn't be surprised if he had learned that a computer was preforming facial recognition to see if he truly was John Kent. He would then stroll through the front yard admiring the huge mansion that was in front of him as it was pretty much the first time he has seen one up close and personal and didn't need to use his super vision to see why some Avengers would call this place their home. He did think about using his super vision to take a peak inside, but the kryptonian hybrid wanted to be surprised by whatever he saw and if he was ever given a tour of the place, he wanted his reaction to be authentic as possible. When he got up to the doors, he pulled the handle of the right door open and stepped inside to the air conditioned building with the temperature being just cool enough not to be considered.
Waiting for him was Aileen Barton who was wearing a dress which surprised the young reporter since he wasn't expecting to see her dressed up for an interview that wasn't even being recorded on a video. If anything, he expected to see her in something more casual since this place was her home, though he did have to admit that she looked rather nice in that dress as it had seemed to have complemented her quite well. The reporter walked up to the latest addition to the Avengers and smiled as he extended his hand towards her inviting her to shake it.
"Hi, Mrs. Barton, it's nice to meet you. Do you want to sit down somewhere so that we can get this interview started?" asked John in a very polite and friendly tone of voice figuring that the woman would want to sit down during this interview.

Aileen watched as the reporter stepped through the doors. John Kent. She snorted as she thought about another Kent who had worked at the Daily Planet. Well, she doubted this one was quite as impressive as Clark. Not Superman, anyway. She shook his extended hand, and grinned slightly nervously at him. It was just another new experience, like parachuting or fighting dinosaurs. "It's Miss Barton," She corrected, still with the grin and trying not to sound nitpicky, "But please, call me Aileen. Do you mind if I call you John?" She hated using codenames and surnames, and avoided it where she could. First names were much better.
"Sure, sitting down sounds good to me," Aileen said, and made a snap decision to conduct the interview in the living room sort of area. She lead the way through a few doors, checking now and again that he was following. "Just through here," She said, and gestured to a comfy leather chair on one side of a table, with a sofa facing opposite. She went to sink into the sofa, but then paused. "Do you want anything to drink?" She asked, "Coffee? Tea? Water? Beer? I can also get you something to eat if you want." So maybe this wasn't a social visit, but she doubted a slice of cake or something could go amiss. And before they got down to the interview, she wanted them to both be comfortable. And then she could just hope she wasn't going to mess up.
She already had a cup of coffee and a couple of biscuits for herself on a plate on the table, mostly to calm her nerves. She'd been nervous about this interview for a while. But hopefully it would get her some money, and maybe improve the Avengers' reputation.
