SURFACE TENSION
It’s 2015. It’s been 5 years since the events at Alcatraz. Many people were left behind, presumed dead. The medical staff at Alcatraz tended to the wounded, human and mutant alike. The terrorist cell known as the Brotherhood of Mutants was thought to be eradicated, as no word of their leader Magneto had been heard from in years. The Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters remained open, now a bit more publically welcoming to mutant students of all ages. The Frost Academy in Manhattan started gathering attention as well as Emma Frost began a more active recruitment program.
Tension between human and mutant seemed to be settling down. On the surface at least.
The real truth, is that the cure was temporary. Everyone who took it eventually regained their powers. With no way to produce more, all mutants regained power from it eventually.
Mystique has reclaimed control over the Brotherhood with no Magneto in sight. The X-men suffered great losses, and have been putting themselves back together, and focusing on the mission to give mutants a safe home to learn in. Emma Frost's Frost Academy in New York has been actively recruiting both human and mutant students alike. And Emma’s elite are being trained quietly as Hellions. Even other students don’t realize Emma’s training sessions occur. The Morlocks have their quiet band in the sewers, collecting those with no home.
Things are bubbling, and the Surface Tension won’t hold forever.
We are brand new and already a thriving community. Many canons are open, and OCs are welcome.
