JJ and @madrox had been trying to keep the date night thing going for awhile. Sure every now and then they'd get it but seemed like something always came up. Either JJ was captured by a villain, Rayne got lost in El Dorado, or last minute re-shoots caused him to have to work late. But tonight was going to happen. JJ had a solid babysitter for Barby, his movie was on hold thanks to budget issues and he'd basically low jacked Rayne when one night got a little crazy. That way he could also always be sure of which one he was talking to. She'd gotten better at getting around his heightened senses, something he didn't like. He liked, trusted and loved her more than anything but trying to keep track of her for some semblance of a relationship had proven quite difficult. But he was stubborn and mostly obsessed with her so that wasn't difficult.
JJ had the night all set up and it would be perfect. He'd had a new suit tailored especially for the night. The car stopped in front of her building and he got out. He'd managed to avoid the paparazzi and his driver was good at avoiding them. He was buzzed into her building and quickly made his way to her apartment.
He adjusted his suit and made sure everything was right before knocking on her door. He knew there was a chance she wasn't in there and also a chance that she had no idea why he was there. But he wasn't giving up, they were going to have date night, or some semblance of one.
"Rayne sweetie, it's your Prince, well, one of them I assume. I made peace with it, comes with dating a centuries old goddess."
The hallway was empty and her neighbors seemed to either not be home or keep to themselves, it was something he liked about them. Either way he was excited to get the night going. He reached into his coat as he waited, checking everything in his pockets.
"I'd rather not have to pick the lock, seems like an awkward way to start a date."
