Cap hummed as he walked. He had a few datapads in his hands. He had spent the afternoon making some tactical ideas for the team. Various ways to combine their powers and techniques for maximum efficiency. Everyone was out and about yet, so James knew he'd have time. Ginnie would be the first one back, hopefully. He had plans to show her the plans and then ask her if she wanted to go see a movie and get some dinner. James knew how she felt about dating, but he wanted to enjoy her company anyway.
There was a noise and James turned to see what it was, before taking a foot the chest. He went flipping, end over end, datapads clattering. He sprung to his feet, faced by a very familiar looking Winter Soldier. He blinked for a second, realizing it was him, staring back from under the domino mask. "Great. Another clone. Like I haven't had enough of this, this month." James dropped into a fighting stance.
"Clone? Please, Jimmy. I'm you. Just from a universe slightly removed from this one. It is Jimmy, right? That's what, Stark calls you?" The Winter Soldier appraised Cap slightly. "I like the gloves. The red covers the blood on your hands rather nicely." Cap threw a couple of punches, which were deftly blocked by the Winter Soldier. "Oh, come on. I'm you. I know all your moves, because they're mine." There were a few more blows exchanged. Punches, kicks, strikes, all blocked. "Is this all you are now? Lost the will to fight? Have you lost the taste for what you are? Hm? Stark screw the murderer out of you? You lost the will to kill and look what came of it."
James glared and threw a couple more blows and realized that he was fighting harder after the comments. "You wouldn't know the first thing about it." The shield caught his eye. If he could push Winter Soldier back far enough, he could retrieve it. He began to consider if Ginnie's idea of putting magnets on it was the right approach. Especially with how often he was losing it. James pushed the Winter Soldier back with some more intense attacks. He stumbled and James kicked the shield up, putting his hand into catch it. The shield never connected though.
There was a blinding pain and a searing heat as James' severed hand dropped to the floor and the shield fell to the ground. Winter Soldier held a beam blade in his hand. The blade had cut through his costume and his wrist bones. James blinked. He felt shock setting in. "Oh, c'mon, Jimmy. Did you think that was going to work? Really? I knew the shield was there. Now, it seems I've disarmed you. I had tools specially made for you."
James tried to clear his head enough to shoot, going for his pistol. Winter Soldier drew first, firing three shots. They tore through his costume and came out the other side. James clutched one of the wounds and fell backwards. "Well, pard. You drew on me first. That'll teach you. Those are hypervelocity bullets. Designed to hurt most superhumans, but I figure they work well enough against that suit. You probably need a hand." The Winter Soldier chuckled. "I crack me up. Anyway, have fun. Stay out of trouble. I have things to do." There was a flash of light and then he was gone.
James felt searing pain in his body. Shock was definitely setting in. He fumbled for his Identicard, to try and warn the Avengers. His eyes clouded and he groaned, before coughing up blood. That was good. He put his head back. Maybe he'd just wait a minute. His vision was fuzzy. There was another flash. He could make out two sets of boots approaching. One fabric and one metal.
"He's over here. Right where she said he would be. It'll be okay... Cap."
"What's the point of this again?"
"We just have to make sure they find him."
"Aren't you worried about us being found?"
"No, my suit is cloaking us from JARVIS' sensors. And everything else." A metal hand picked up the Identicard. "Activate emergency override. Priority Avengers Alert. Distress signal. Code Black." The card started beeping and flashing, then the person dropped it. "Let's get going. They'll be here soon." Another flash and James was alone again.

If today was your last day and tomorrow was too late "JARVIS, check my schedule for this week. I want to know if I have any meetings coming up in the immediate future," she said as she pushed away from her computer. She was starting to get a small headache. She'd been out of it for the past week or so, nothing too bad. Still probably just the sour effects of that night out she had earlier that week. The bruises were almost healed up, though. That was quite nice at least. She got out of her seat to go grab a bottle of water from the mini fridge so that she could take a few aspirin for her head. Her hand had hesitated for just a moment as she went to glance towards the small bar. She knew she shouldn't have it in her office, but sometimes people came who liked a drink. Or at least that's what she told herself. "No, it will only make your head worse," she told herself, grabbing the water and walking back to her desk to get the pills. "It appears that your free for the week, Miss Stark. Though you do have a board meeting coming up next Thursday," came the voice from the AI buzzing in her ear. She nodded her head as if he could see it, grabbing the pill bottle and twisting off the top before tossing a few into her mouth and downing her water. "Anything special I need to do today?" She asked, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. "It does not appear as such, though I can double check for you, Miss." The was a moment of silence as if he were actually checking. Well, there was no 'as if'. JARVIS was synced up to every single piece of tech that she had in her arsenal, including every stupid PDA, cellular device, and portable computer. She waited patiently as she slowly drained the rest of the water from her bottle for the answer. "Completely free, Miss.""Good, I'm going for lunch, then," she muttered, grabbing her 'suit'case and heading towards the elevator and out of the building. JARVIS didn't seem to argue her taking it this time. The last time he did, there was a psycho in a wannabe Iron Man suit creating havoc. She made sure to tell her secretaries before exiting the building and heading for the closest cafe. That was when JARVIS picked up again. "Miss Stark, we're getting a distress signal from the Towe-." His voice cut out as an unfamiliar one seemed to cut in. 'Priority Avengers Alert. Distress Signal. Code Black.' The words alone made her quicken her pace. She wasn't that far. She went from a mild jog to a full on sprint, half tempted to activate the suit in her case and get it on. But that would take too much time and she was close to the Avengers Tower anyway. She ran as fast as she good and soon she was throwing the doors to the tower open and making her way directly to the signal. She practically slid to a stop when she saw him, though, lying there. "James..." She looked around. No one else. "JARVIS, i want scans of this building stat. Camera footage brought up, I want to know who was here, who did this, and who sent the message out. And I want vital scans of Captain America done as soon as possible." There was a yes ma'am in her ear but she didn't care. She took the earpiece out and put the suitcase down before going to kneel down beside him. He looked rough. The missing hand was probably the next thing she noticed. "Oh James, who did this to you," she said almost breathlessly as she took off the thin jacket she'd been wearing over her blouse. Sure, she probably should go find a first aide kit, but she needed something to stop the bleeding from the bullet wounds and she wasn't sure how fast she could really move. She tool the jacket and pressed it down, lightly at first, where the bullet wounds were before adding pressure to try and stop the bleeding. She turned her face down towards James'. "James, can you say something? Do you have any sort of consciousness? Dammit, where is everyone else!" She squeezed her eyes shut for just a moment, sending a silent prayer that someone would come. She knew what she should do, but something in her didn't want to leave his side. No, someone had to be here, make sure that the bleeding stopped, right? Make sure that he was fine, that he was alive. She bit back tears, there was no need for them, right? He would be okay... right? Would you make your mark by mending a broken heart? ✿

Calc was always Lydia's least favorite subject. Math and numbers just swirled around in her head, making little to no sense and it took all of her brainpower to understand the examples the teacher was going through. She was maintaining a B in the class though, thanks to massive amounts of tutoring and extra credit. This next test though would be a real pain in the *ss. She was going to have to buckle down and really study this weekend. She was scribbling down notes as furiously as she could, when her phone went off and the teacher turned to glare at her. But her phone was on vibrate while she was in class...unless...
"No...I'm sorry! No no no..." she scrambled to get her phone seeing the dreaded "Code: Black" text message. After what had happened a few years ago, she'd made him put her on an emergency contact if something serious happened like that ever again. She'd hoped it would never need to be used. She shoved everything into her backpack as fast as she could and bolted out of the classroom, with a rushed, "SorryIhavetogofamilyemergencysomeoneisinserioustroublebye!" that even Walt would be proud of. She didn't even slow down when the math teacher tried to get her to stop. As soon as she was outside her feet were off the ground and she was hitting Mach-1 easy heading over to the Avenger's Mansion. She almost ripped the door off it's hinges trying to wait for it to open for her and then she was off and running, trying to find the source of the signal. Her mind was racing. She'd only get this kind of alert if he was in serious trouble, which was the only time he would even think he was in any sort of trouble. And when he thought he was in trouble it was bad.
She almost ran right past the hall where Ginnie had found him, she was going so fast. She slammed into the wall as she tried to turn a bit too wide, but bounced back quickly and scrambled over to her brother's side. "What...What the hell happened?" She looked over her brother, wondering how someone had gotten in here undetected to do something like this. Then she started to really look at his wounds; the bullets went through and through his costume like they were normal clothes. That kind of ammo would give even her a bruise or worse. He had ammo like that, or he used to. For superhumans. But what caught her eye was his hand, or lack thereof. Why do that? Her mind started racing, and her anger began to grow, her eyes beginning to glow.
"Ginnie...Ginnie, who the...who could get in here and do this without the whole place going on lock down? What would that even take?" She put her hands over Ginnie's, much more sure and solid to help staunch the bleeding. She knew what it could take, possibly, but there was no one here she could think of that would make it possible.

Aileen really needed to learn to drive. Or fly. But probably drive. The reason she really needed to learn how to drive was because when things like this happened, she either had to take a cab, and she really wasn't in a good state for that right now, or run. Code black. Someone had a code black, and she was a mile and a half away. True, it could be worse, but still, a whole mile. If it was bad enough to warrant a code black, someone could be....No, she wasn't going to think that. She thought about getting a cab, but her nerves weren't up for it, and she couldn't be sure it'd be quicker, so she took off sprinting instead. She wasn't in costume, but she wasn't dressed up either, thank god. She doubted her ability to cover a mile and a half at any sort of speed in a pencil skirt and heels. So she was thankful for her jeans and practical shoes as she tore through the streets, very liberally shoving people out of her way. She had to get to the tower.
As she ran, she tortured herself with thoughts of what might be happening. She kept picturing Ginnie, T'Shan, even James, lying there, badly wounded. The thoughts kept flickering in her head. Ginnie, riddled with bullets, still wearing the gauntlets of her armour. T'Shan, pinned and crushed, Mjolnir out of his reach. Even James, bleeding, his shield useless. She squeezed her eyes shut for a second and ran faster. She had to hope somebody would get there before her. She was too damn slow. She continued to sprint, feeling the burn spreading across her body. It wasn't the exertion, it was her lack of proper breathing. She wasn't getting enough oxygen for proper respiration, so her muscles were fatiguing quicker. She knew this, but it didn't stop her breath coming in short, panicked bursts.
It'd taken her maybe five minutes to get to the tower, and that was far too long. If it was serious, whoever it was might be...Someone had to have gotten there before her. Two of them could fly, for god's sake! She burst in through the door and started checking rooms, skittering to a stop when she saw the figure lying on the ground, but her main focus was the person treating him. Ginnie was okay, thank god. There was someone else there, someone Aileen recognised, but she ignored her as she dashed into the room, pressing her hand to her mouth as she saw who was lying on the floor. "James," She whispered, and dropped to Ginnie's side, her hands moving frantically over the man, checking his pulse. He'd been shot. How the hell had he been shot? She'd seen that suit hold up under SMG fire. "What happened?" She asked Ginnie, her voice still low and terrified. And then she saw his hand and she gasped again. It was gone at the wrist. "We need to get him to a hospital," She said frantically.

T'Shan was at the Wakandan embassy, doing a little work here and there. Sure most people thought of him as the Asgardian prince and the super hero, which he often was above all. But at the end of the day he was also the Prince of Wakanda. That meant that he had to deal with other issues his sister was too busy to handle. It was of course more minor issues. Answering letters and so forth. He often thought he was more like a secretary for her, but would never bring it up. Primarily because she would never let that go. He was jotting down a random, generic sentence when his communicator went off. He was looking forward to a battle, but then he heard the 'Code: Black'. Skugga was already in the air and he was running for the window. He twirled Mjolnir and took off into the air, the window breaking and providing no resistance.
He landed with a bang in the middle of the street, ignoring the crater he'd just created. He ran in right behind Aileen. His senses picked up on the gun powder and blood as well as the slow heartbeat of James.
"Who dared attack one of us in our home!?"
He was furious. He looked down at James, a dying James and shook his head. They needed to get him to a hospital of some sort. Wasn't he supposed to be tied to SHIELD? Shouldn't they be here? Surely they would have the means to save him.
"The Justice league tower has the means to save him. I can get him there."
He said grabbing his communicator to try and teleport them up there. He knew that they had enough advanced tech that they could fix it. There was likely some sort of issues seeing as how he wasn't on the team, but he didn't care. james was a friend and T'Shan was a reserve League member. That meant he could come and go as he pleased. Skugga landed on T'Shan's shoulder and looked down at James.
"I need you to let go Ginnie."
He said kneeling down to pick James up.

The Code Black went as far as one other personal contact. Phil Coulson checked his phone in the situation room aboard the helicarrier. He saw the text. There was only one way that could be sent. He pulled out his phone and dialed Lydia. She should be there by now. "Lydia. Calm down. You're my eyes on the ground. Tell me what's going on." There was a bit of hurried speech. Phil sighed, frustration evident. He couldn't leave the carrier now. "We have a situation up here. I can't pull away. I am leaving you in charge of all the decisions for him. He trusts you. Do whatever you have to, use whoever you need. I will put our full resources behind you. Okay. Love you too. It will be okay." He hung up his phone. Some days, it didn't pay to be the Director of SHIELD.
James looked up at Ginnie, his vision was slightly fuzzy. He tried to smile. "Would you believe I fell down some stairs?" He coughed some more blood up. He was starting to feel tired. This was a very long day for him and he was achy. His body felt cold. And then Lydia and the rest of the Avengers were around him. Lydia and Ginnie were helping to stop him from bleeding out. This situation seemed so familiar. He forced his eyes to focus.
The most important thing now was to pass on what he learned before he died. He wouldn't give up, but he knew the likelihood of survival by this point. As his mind started going through his options, he whispered two words to the girls. "Winter Soldier." Those two words seemed to take all his effort. His tongue felt heavy. This wasn't going to go well. His hand came up and caressed Ginnie's cheek, leaving a little smear of blood behind. Then he looked over and smiled at Lydia. He could hear Hawkeye and T'Shan somewhere in the background but his focus was dull. He should have taken her up on the nurse's uniform while he could.

If today was your last day and tomorrow was too late Lydia was the first one to get there after her. She'd almost been confused seeing her, until it occurred to her that the young Titan was James' little sister. Ginnie kept her hands pressed tightly to James' chest as she listened to the blonde talk. She squeezed her eyes shut again, just for a second before rapidly blinking away the tears threatening to stream down. She had to remain strong, had to be the 'Fearless Leader', so she had to be calm as she answered Lydia. She knew that there was no real way to calm the girl down, and she wasn't about to even begin to try. No offense, but Lydia wasn't her issue right now. No, James was. "I don't know, Lydia. i really don't. The security system here is top notch. The only thing that can even access it outside of me and maybe James is JARVIS. I have him searching through feeds, system updates, every little thing to try and figure out what did this. He hasn't responded back yet with anything, though." Not like she'd really hear him even if he did. the earpiece was dangling away from her ear. His voice would be soft even if there was something to be said. "I upgraded these systems myself, along with my father, they'd be nigh impossible to get through. I really, I don't know Lydia. I really don't know." She wanted to say that she was happy to see Aileen when she entered, but, really, she hadn't quite seen her come in, her eyes remaining fixed down on him. She couldn't look away, almost feeling as if looking away meant he might die. It was the same reason why she just couldn't let go. She had to make sure he stayed alive. She couldn't watch someone else she cared about die so maybe, if she never truly turned away, he wouldn't be able to die. As if that was logic. She knew it wasn't, it was simply wishful thinking, but it was something that she wanted to believe so badly. "I don't know what happened, Aileen. I wish I did, but I wasn't here. I was at work." She should have been here, though... Maybe if she'd been here. 'No, you can't think like that, Virginia. Deep breaths. He will be fine,' she told herself. She took in a slow, deep breathe before shaking her head. "Where he goes is up to Lydia or himself, it's not our call." She didn't trust that a hospital would really be able to fix this, but that was more so stubbornness speaking. There had to be something they could do before then, though. Maybe contact SHIELD... Contact Olivier... She didn't know. She barely registered T'Shan coming in, though as she heard James's soft voice. A single tear escaped at his words and she shook her head lightly. "No, James. Unless of course, you'd managed to get yourself into Aperture Science. Then maybe I'd believe it. Just a little." She knew it wasn't a time for jokes but a part of her couldn't seem to help that one. She heard him say two single words after that, as if talking to her and Lydia. Winter Soldier. She was going to find this Winter Soldier and she was going to make them pay, even if it meant paying with their own life. His hand came up to her cheek and she could feel his blood lightly touch her skin. While she wasn't keen on it, she couldn't find the heart to say anything as one of her hands came up to lay gently on top of his. Her fingers curled around it as best they could and kept his hand there, her other hand still pressing against the cloth she'd placed over the bullet wounds. "I am not letting him go, T'Shan. I'm sorry, but I just can't. So unless you can manage to get him there with me, then find another way. Besides, we can't rely on the Justice League for an Avenger issue..." She addressed T'shan, though wouldn't look at him. She should let go. Let go. Let T'shan take care of it. Quit being so stubborn. She just couldn't manage to do that, though. "Lydia, where would your brother go in a situation like this?" It was nigh impossible to keep more small tears from streaming down her cheeks seeing him in such a condition but she started to rapidly blink her eyes again to make them stop. "You're going to be okay, James, I promise..." she muttered as quietly as she could. Would you make your mark by mending a broken heart? ✿

The phone call to Phil had seemed like a blur to her, but he had been right, she needed to calm down and think. Because she'd just been given a massive responsibility. James's life was literally in her hands now. She was going to murder whoever was responsible for this. She barely registered the other Avengers coming in as her mind raced for what to do. Phil wasn't here to bark orders or make things happen in an instant and they didn't have the time to rush him to a hospital. She had no idea what kind of internal damage there was and she didn't want to risk moving him either. Think think THINK Lydia, he needs to be saved now. Or at least stabilized. They needed to move fast and everyone was talking at once and getting way too close for her comfort. She'd never met T'Shan but she'd heard of the Wakandan Prince. And on some level she knew they were all just trying to help, but him trying to pick James up was the last straw.
"NOBODY'S MOVING HIM ANYWHERE!" Her eyes glowed and she let off a pulse of energy in anger and protectiveness at T'Shan. Then she sat back, surprised at her own outburst. "No one...is moving him until he's stable." She said much more calmly. They needed fast. Faster than getting him anywhere would take. She looked over at Ginnie, taking a calming breath before James spoke the last two words. Winter Soldier. They made her stop cold, her anger dissipating instantaneously, and look around for half a moment before looking back down at him. There was no way he'd shot himself. So, that must have meant...things were happening. But she still had her part to play and she would act as she had been acting until she, herself got the go ahead. But now she had some idea of what the hell was going on.
"Huh?" She looked back over at Ginnie, ignoring the blood smear on her face. "Oh, he'd go to the hellicarrier, but he...we can't move him right now, we're more than likely going to make it worse. The bullets that were used, they're for people like me. Meant to hurt me. So they tore through him like tissue paper. I...I have an idea but Ginnie I need you to give one of my teammates access. Jor, he...his main function is to preserve life and he's a walking medbay if he needs to be. And he works fast." She fumbled around in her pockets and pulled out her communicator to contact Jor. After she had done that, she rifled through some of James' pockets and came up with nothing useful.
"Um...um um...Hawkeye...you guys have a medical lab here, we need supplies..." Aileen looked like she needed something to do and they would need those supplies to make sure James didn't die. "Uh...You, with the hammer...T'Shan, I'm really very sorry I blasted you...really really sorry. Ummm can you take over for Ginnie and just make sure my brother doesn't bleed to death? Please?" She wiped away one or two of her own tears with the back of her hand, looking at T'shan apologetically and fearfully for a moment before looking down at the now unconscious James.
"You listen to Ginnie, idiot...she's team leader. You'll be fine. You'll be fine or you get no more banana cream pie!"

"T'Shan, don't," Aileen said warningly, putting a hand at his wrist. She could see no way in which picking him up was going to help here. But then when Marvel screamed, she pulled away quickly, and so was away from the blast. She kept her hand to James' throat, feeling intently for any change of pulse. If it dropped, she was going to have to get T'Shan take James wherever he had to to keep him alive. She didn't want Marvel or Ginnie getting hurt, but no way was she going to let James die. When he made the comment, she jumped. She'd thought he was conscious. She was almost prepared to smile, but then he coughed up blood and any hope she'd had faded. No way. He wasn't going to die here. She wasn't even going to entertain the thought. He was tough. She had no idea what he'd done in the past, she couldn't access files on him, but this couldn't be the worst situation he'd survived. Could it?
Despite her closeness, she couldn't make out the words he said. Something...No, she couldn't make sense of it. Ginnie and Lydia had heard them, at least, but she couldn't be sure they made any sense to them either. "What did he say?" She asked, "Something soldier?" Had it been a name? A codeword? If it was a name, was it the person who'd shot him? Her mind was moving too quickly, flitting between thoughts without actually pausing to consider them. Except that James would die. She was definitely considering that. Her breath was still coming unevenly, in quick little bursts. She had to slow it down or she'd hyperventilate, and that wasn't going to help anyone. Her heart was pounding, so out of time with the uneven, slow pulse of James on the floor.
"Moving him's not a good idea," She agreed, barely able to say the words by this point. "It'd...make things worse." She should be able to help better than this. She studied biology, for god's sake. Zoology, animals, but she'd still studied the basics of humans. Why the hell was she so useless here. She looked up sharply as Marvel said her name. Right, something to do. Something to make herself useful. And something that gave her time on her own.
"Got it," She all but choked out, and was on her feet in an instant. Anything she could do to help. She wasn't breathing properly for running, but she took off at a sprint, feeling tears finally fall down her face as she moved away from the others. JARVIS was the only one likely to see, and she didn't really care what he thought. She sprinted through the corridors, her lungs burning as she burst through the doors to the medical lab. She rifled through the shelves, practically a blur as she moved. Thank god for fast eyes. She grabbed bandages, cloths, hospital-strength painkillers, needles, thread, and a few bottles of pills that she had no real idea what they'd do. She was just grabbing whatever she could. She couldn't be sure even half of it would be useful, but she didn't want to risk leaving anything behind. Her eyes lingered over the defibrillator, but she didn't take it. If he bled out, not even T'Shan could use enough electricity to bring him back. But he wouldn't bleed out. The various pockets of her outfit full of supplies and carrying a full two armfuls, she jogged back to the others. She dropped a few things, but she left them. She reached the others and dropped everything she was carrying on the floor, panting. "I brought everything I could," She said, emptying her pockets as well.

This was stupid. T'Shan had the strength and speed to move fast enough to keep him alive and save him. But as he went to pick James up he glanced, seeing Captain marvel yell and then an energy blast hit him in the chest and sent him sliding backwards. He remained upright, thankful for his strength and durability. Otherwise he'd be hurt much worse. Instead his chest stung slightly, which was mildly annoying. He glared at her but turned his attention back to James.
"Winter Soldier? Who's that?"
He'd heard a few passing stories here and there about who or what Winter Soldier was. Nothing too amazing. A created evil soldier, assassin, possibly an answer to Captain America. T'Shan never thought much of it.
"I could've teleported him directly to the med-bay. And need I remind you Virginia, I'm also a member of the Justice League?"
He said mildly annoyed that he'd been completely ignored. He had the means to save James but no one seemed to trust or care for him. It was annoying, he didn't like it. He wasn't evil by any means. He wanted James to survive as much as the others. When Lydia apologized for blasting him he shot her a look.
"Oh trust me Marvel. When this is over we shall discuss that."
He always felt she seemed too emotional. Now was simply proof of those theories. He knelt down beside James and rested Mjolnir on Jame's forearm, or what was left of it. The weight would help make him less likely to bleed out. He than placed his hands on the most severe looking wounds. The killer, or attempted killer, was smart. It'd be too hard to plug all the holes with their hands. Smart, he was impressed.
"Tell me Maiden, what of the SHIELD agent who seems infatuated with you? Can he not also simply telelport Captain to the Hellicarrier?"

The Titan communicator went off and Jor listened to an upset Lydia tell him what was going on. "I am already on my way." Jor took a second or two to upload the medical knowledge he'd been collecting for his own personal matters. And then he was off. He flew high above the Tower and kept going faster and faster, reaching speeds of Mach upwards of Mach 35 in a parabolic arc trajectory. Jor hit the edge of space, dropping faster. He shed his excess speed and appeared in the Avengers Mansion. Only 3 seconds had elapsed since he left the Titans Tower.
To anyone not expecting it, Jor would have seemed to have materialized next to them. He ran a quick scan with X-ray vision and saw James' insides. Even Jor could see that his internal organs were damaged. Human science couldn't do much for him at this point. But Jor wasn't even remotely human. He identified three main causes of bleeding that needed to be fixed before moving the man. "Captain, Maiden. I must do some emergency surgery. This is going to hurt him, but it will keep him alive. I apologize." Jor fired a few quick shots of heat vision into James' organ cavity and at his wrist. The heat vision cauterized three arteries, burning them closed and slowing the bleeding.
"I understand that you are all debating, but I will do my best to save him. I need all of you to step away and let me work now, please." Jor used his transmutation power and created a hover table that rose up underneath James, elevating him without moving him. His powers didn't work without a cost. He used his power to change energy into matter. He created a few basic tools, some human, some Kryptonian. It was going to take his full scientific knowledge. He transmuted two Kryptonian assistant droids from his own internal energy stores and tasked them to assist him, speaking hastily in Kryptonian at them. The droids each produced tools and got to work along with Jor on James.

If today was your last day and tomorrow was too late The fact that everyone was seemingly trying to talk had gotten to Lydia, she could tell. It wasn't really the body language or the yelling that tipped it off, though they definitely played major rolls in it. No, rather, it was the energy blast she shot at T'Shan, sending him back a little that was the real give-away. It was likely the most obvious sign, at least. And while she didn't appreciate it, somewhere deep down, she was slightly amused by it. It was definitely something she'd been wanting to do for quite some time, at least. She tried to filter through the voices, not wanting them to get to her. She heard everything everyone was saying, though she had to pick through and address things as they were deemed most important. And, right now, James and Lydia were top priority. "If you trust him enough to save Jimmy's life, then I will grant him all the access he needs to whatever he might need to get the job done," she said, only glancing towards the blonde for a second as she said that. She released pressure as T'shan took over, which was probably smart. T'shan was stronger, though she didn't trust that he always knew his own strengths. He better not hurt James any worse. She didn't want to let go of him completely, though, so she still had the hand that had reached up to her in her own, giving it a small squeeze. She didn't say anything to Aileen, letting her follow the orders she was given by Lydia. Rather, she turned her vocal attention to T'shan while putting her eyes back on Captain America. "I don't care if you're a member of SHIELD at this point, T'shan. This is not a Justice League matter and what I say is what goes. We are not moving him, I don't care if you think you know better, Asgardian. We are not moving him anywhere until, at the very least, we have him stabilized. If you have issue with my method, then you know where the door is. I'm sure the Justice League would happily take you full time, but I don't need some insubordinate demi-god undermining orders. I don't care if you're a damned prince, either. You are on my team, we listen to what I say, and that means we do not move him until Lydia or myself give the order to." She glared over at T'shan as she spoke, trying to not let any hints of agitation filter through, though it was clear that she was failing. She had barely noticed the Kryptonian enter, though the second he had, she heard the articulate voice of JARVIS softly under her ear saying that someone had entered the mansion. She didn't bother looking, though, as she heard the voice. She was hesitant to release her hold on James's hand but she did none-the-less, lowering his arm gently to the floor before getting up and moving away from him. "Do whatever it takes to save him. I'm sure he won't mind feeling a bit of pain when he wakes up so long as he wakes up in this life and not the next." She turned her face away from the lot so that she could wipe at her eyes. With more and more people in the mansion, she didn't need any of them seeing her like this. 'I have to be the fearless leader,' she thought to herself again before deciding to address T'shan's question. "Yes, but his teleportation is always finnicky. Time still passes normally and, dependent on where the helicarrier is, it could take more time than James actually has. We will take this one step at a time, and, as I have said, he is not being moved anywhere until he is stabilized."Ginnie moved towards Lydia, keeping her eyes away from James now, she didn't want to see the procedure, in all honesty. She just wanted him to survive. Because he had to survive, just had to. If she did have to contact Olivier though, it wouldn't be to teleport anyone to the Helicarrier. It would be to go back in time and make sure this didn't happen. Time Travel had repercussions, sure, but this one might be worth it. 'No, stop. That will fix nothing.' She reached to try and take Lydia's hand and give her a small, albeit somewhat sad, smile. "He'll be okay, Lyd. Take a few deep breathes and ignore everyone else. Your friend will make sure he gets through this."Would you make your mark by mending a broken heart? ✿

"Right now, not really trusting anyone I don't know to save my brother, ok? Justice League or no. Someone got in here with all it's security so, I'm not really up to taking him somewhere else. Ok?!" she shot at T'Shan. Certainly she was being a bit over protective of James, perhaps even a bit paranoid, But she was acting as she should have, so she thought. She looked warily over at T'Shan as she heard a familiar undertone in his voice. One that usually meant bad things. So she just gave Aileen a look of thanks and shifted closer to Ginnie as T'Shan took over. She felt a bit more calm closer to the older woman.
Relief flooded through her the moment Jor appeared and immediately began to go to work. His primary directive was to preserve life, so she was at least sure that he'd keep James alive. "Oh, he's used to pain, Jor...he likes to walk around with broken ribs and laugh." Unlike Ginnie, she did watch. She trusted Jor to do what needed doing, but she was still worried. She put her arm around Ginnie and held her hand out for Aileen. She looked like she needed a hug too.
"To answer your question, T'Shan, before his dad was Captain America, he was the Winter Solider. So, it stands to reason someone is playing copycat because it's impossible for his dad to have come in here and done this. Unless someone is messing around with the Nekrinomicon. And packing some heavy artillery..."

Well, this situation was fucked up. Aileen didn't think the blast would have especially hurt T'Shan, but he didn't look happy. She moved closer and laid her hand on her arm, trying to keep him calm. The last thing they needed right now was a genuine argument or worse, a fight. "She didn't mean it," She said to T'Shan quietly, swallowing and trying to function despite the panic that was filling her head. She couldn't focus, she couldn't concentrate. She was trying to hold onto the thought that it was too of her friends at each other's throat, but she was still just overwhelmed. She didn't work in a crisis. Not when her friends were involved. She kept her hand on T'Shan's arm, but her gaze kept flicking to James. This Jor guy, whoever he was, was checking on James now. The others, or at least Marvel, seemed to trust him and accept he could do well. For her part, Aileen wasn't a stranger to people appearing suddenly, so she didn't find that suspicious.
But then the guy started shooting lasers into James, and it took all of her willpower not to throw herself at him. She knew, intellectually, that the guy was doing surgery. He'd said as much. But instinctively, she wanted to stop the person shooting lasers into her wounded friend. Her wounded, maybe dying friend. She regretted all those times she'd brushed him off or assumed he was just some creepy guy. Her thoughts were interrupted, however, when Ginnie began her tirade at T'Shan. "Ginnie..." Aileen said quietly, but was quickly spoken over as her friend continued, getting almost vicious with the things she said. Aileen didn't want T'Shan to leave the Avengers, and she strongly doubted Ginnie did either. It was just all the pent-up fear and worry and panic breaking through, which Aileen could understand. She was feeling it herself. But they didn't need this right now. It could escalate quickly, and that would just make things worse.
"Leave it," She said to T'Shan quietly, tightening her grip on his arm. Not like that would achieve much if he did decide to start something. "Ginnie knows what she's talking about." The only way Aileen was going to keep calm through this was if she trusted her friend. She looked at T'Shan with sympathy and concern, but she had to side with her best friend in this. She moved her hand down his arm to his hand and squeezed it, and shot him a pleading look as she let go of him and moved over to Marvel. She took the girl's hand and all but burrowed against her as she put her other arm around her. She needed something like that. She slipped her other hand from around Marvel and held it out to Ginnie in case the other girl wanted to take it.

T'Shan ignored Ginnie as best he could while he tried to hold pressure on James' wounds. He could feel his Asgardian temper beginning to build and it took everything he had to not simply hurl Mjolnir at her to shut her up, for good.He glanced over and noticed Skugga's feathers get puffed out. He was clearly annoyed but T'Shan simply shook his head and Skugga did what he himself wanted to do, left. He stepped back and picked up Mjolnir as the Kryptonian went to work. He nodded his head calmly to Aileen as she tried to calm him. Honestly it did work and is likely the only reason he didn't leave or simply attack.
"Yes, Maiden knows. I am just the Asgardian underling, as she pointed out. I am just here to follow orders after all."
He said calmly. Of course inside he was furious and while he wasn't paying attention the crack of thunder outside was a small sign of how he felt. He nodded his head calmly as she pointed out how the Time Lord's powers worked. That made sense. Yes, time was not what they had a lot of right now. He simply leaned against the wall while he noticed everyone trying to comfort Lydia.
"Hmm, a potential copy cat soldier. Not exactly out of the ordinary for the Avengers."
He said beginning to pace. The storm outside was slowly beginning to calm, namely since his mind was elsewhere. Which was for the best for everyone's sake. He knew should he actually focus he could eliminate everyone in the room, perhaps with the exception of the Kryptonian. He didn't know the Krpytonian but he would be up for the challenge. Perhaps some other time they could spar.
"Tell me Marvel. Does your brother have any potential enemies capable of getting into a place like this, doing this damage and leaving, all undetected?"
T'Shan had to assume it was a small list. While he didn't assume Captain had few enemies, namely since they all had made their share of enemies. Only difference was James' were super spy murderers and T'Shan's were sorcerers or the type who wielded massive robots.
