Having already spent half a day at this, what she could only describe as juvenile imprisonment, Zoey was quickly learning human adolescents were not something to underestimate. They also seemed to have no sense of the type of power she carried within her, though she had been strictly instructed not to reveal that. Parts of the day had been interesting, learning about how this "education center" worked. Mostly she received stares from people. Her height seemed to be abnormal beyond the confines of Themyscira. She towered over most of the teenagers she was in school with, even some teachers. She had been told this was good for socialization, for her to learn about the world at large. Immersion. So she decided to treat it like an anthropological study, inserting herself into the everyday. She was given the cover of a foreign exchange student, which she did enjoy as it saved her from trying to pretend she understands their popular culture references. However, this lunchtime seemed to be at least a little bit familiar to her. She could see how people were laid out, noting their similar modes of dress and interests. She had not seen Jor for most of the day and wanted to use this time to compare their findings. "Ah, Zoey, I have been looking for you." Zoey blinked and turned around to find her calculus teacher coming up to her and looking rather happy. Zoey faced the smaller woman, making sure to accent her English when she answered. "You have? What can I do for you?" "Ah, well, you are...rather tall, and as it happens I have an opening on the school's volleyball team. Try outs are today after school if you would like to join us." Zoey, for once was at a loss for what to do. She did not know what this "volleyball" was, but there were tryouts. Which meant some form of competition. It took her several moments to answer, not sure what she was agreeing to. But she was told to integrate, to assimilate to this microcosm of society in general to get a feel for the world. "Um...sure...and I will try and learn the rules to this volleyball before the end of the day." Zoey turned, hearing her name being called elsewhere and trying to spot the source of the sound. Outfit

With half his day gone by, Jor was looking for Zoey, to meet up and compare notes. Jor had pitched the idea to Captain America and he had set them both up with false identities so that the two of them could get a feel for humanity. James gave Jor a few promises of his own to keep. Obviously, Jor was not permitted to use his powers, which wouldn't be a problem with the red sunlight emitting watch on his wrist. The second was that Jor was not allowed to correct the science teacher. James had sited a fictional prime directive as the reason that Jor couldn't do this, but it made sense to him.
That saddened him a little, because he had already written several revisions to the text book in his mind. After Physics was over, he could see that the class was eager to avoid him. Jor noticed that answering all the questions was drawing a lot of unwanted attention. There were several larger boys that were wearing sports apparel of some kind. Jor thought they seemed nice enough, but they gave him wide birth and some of the girls rolled their eyes at him when he said hello.
Jor had lunch next, so he thought he would go meet up with Zoey and see what she had to say. Suddenly, there was a shoulder check and Jor hit the lockers and fell, dropping his text books. An athlete called him a freak and walked past him. The Kryptonian's shoulder tingled as nerves registered pain. He would make a note of this kind of encounter and place it in his notes. As Jor stood up, the physics teacher helped him pick up his books.
"Jordan, are you alright?" The woman asked handing Jor his books back. "I can report him for you, if you'd like."
"Yes, I am alright. I am sure that, it was simply an accidental collision. I would not like to make a report at this time." He made sure to keep his voice slightly accented with a Kryptonian accent. James had told him that this would make him seem just different enough, that they would have to excuse his lack of knowledge on things. Zoey agreed with that plan.
"If it happens again, please let me know." She offered him a kind smile.
Jor returned the smile. "Thank you. I will let you know if I have any more difficulties." The boy turned and walked down the hall towards the lunch room. He noted the similarities in the way people dressed as well and wondered if there was some sort of social hierarchy at work that he did not understand. Fortunately, he saw Zoey speaking with a teacher and it brought a grin to his face. She seemed to know more about human behavior. She probably knew the answer. Jor called her name and walked over to her.
"Hello, Zoey."

Well, she was an American girl raised on promises Gabrielle couldn't lie, while going to a normal school again wasn't exactly the most thrilling if ideas, the fact her, and a couple other Titans, were asked to go with Jor and Zoey to high school by Captain America himself. Captain freaking America! And after the initial shock of it all, and having to fan herself a little, she was all too happy to go with them as a favor. While they had the story if foreign exchange students, she didn't really need such a story. No, she was just a friend of theirs meant to help them settle in. However, it hadn't until she had been getting ready for school that day that she remembered just why she didn't exactly like normal schools. She dressed herself in a pair of blue jeans. Her shirt was blue with a star on it, the words American Sweetheart wrapped around it. Her usual Miss America jacket was worn over it, always really liking to have it, honestly. Red sneakers with a white star on the outside of each donned her feet. However, the reminder of what was to come had come in the form of the wing brace she spent a few extra moments putting on before she had left for school. The bullying had started almost immediately. It didn't matter if she was a hero, if her father had been a hero. The brace on her back was all too visible. Wearing the jacket over it didn't hide it much and she had been told almost immediately that she wasn't allowed to wear it in class. So that was left in her locker. Feathers poked out the brace, her wings still partially visable and it got her called a freak multiple times. Because here, Gabrielle Wilson wasn't Miss America. She was just Gabby, just another student like everyone else. And, on top of that, she was an underclassman. Kids, no matter how old, were cruel. They had always been cruel. But that didn't matter because, no matter how bad, she had made a promise to take deep breathes and smile rather than throw punches to show she wasn't one to be messed with. She had to be a good student but because her hero was the reason any of this was happening to begin with, she had to agree. Her classes were going well, especially biology, and soon she was half way through her day. What a hellish day it had already been. She had been putting her books back into her locker when she saw some upperclassman messing with Jor. Mess with her all you want, she didn't appreciate her friends getting messed with. So shoving her books into her locker, she already started to crack her knuckles and went after the kid who thought he was all big and bad. Lunch could definitely wait. "Hey, asshole, you wanna pick on a freak your own size?" she hollered after him. The athlete just kept moving and she followed, pushing him hard from behind. She didn't always remember her own strengths and the guy stumbled forward a little. "I'm talking to you!"After the guy took a moment to balance himself, he turned, and the look of shock that such a small thing like her had been the one encountering him made him laugh. "Is this some kind of joke?" "Do i look like I'm joking? Now, you got one if two options. You either go apologize to my friend. Or i take you down a few notches." She practically spat the last part, venom dripping from her tone. She wasn't too far from the entrance to the cafeteria and already people were starting to look. "How about i just shut your mouth for you and you go fly away with your little wings, freak." That word seemed to be a big part of his vocabulary, huh? And it wasn't like it was one she hadn't heard before. A small smirk formed on her lips as he said that, though, cracking her knuckles again. Part of her honestly had hoped he'd say that. xxx | Jor Zoey Adam Sato | >__> her muse just gets so excited at even the thought of cap needing her to do something... someone might need to stop her. Lydia was having a good day for once. Her outfit was on point (even if Phil had groaned and told her it was too short, and she was going to give him a heart attack), and she'd actually had time to do her make up and make her blue eyes pop, and style her hair and not mess it up while flying. She'd also been her usual friendly self and already gotten an invite to the "cool kids" table during lunch, and told about cheerleader tryouts after school. She was actually grateful, for once, not to have to worry about the politics of high school cliques as she had other people to hang out with/ watch out for. It was actually very relaxing not to have to actually worry about the social hierarchy around her. It was just a little strange though for Lydia to be wandering around a different high school than her own, but she only had a few electives and technically enough credits to graduate at her own school. So she was here, to keep an eye on things, since she was more used to being part of a school with civilians and hiding her powers. She had been conveniently placed in a class each with Jor and Zoey. The younger teammates she'd just have to watch out for on her off periods. Of which there were many. Fiddling with her jet plane necklace, she looked around as people started filtering out and heading toward the cafeteria. She almost hadn't worn the thing. She'd had it so long, she almost forgot who gave it to her. Then she remembered it had been a gift from Marty when they were younger, well Marty and his parents but still. Phil had said it was the only thing she was wearing he actually liked, so she kept it on to appease him. She was only doing this to keep an eye on things after all. She was here to observe, and keep people out of trouble. And she had hoped that wouldn't be too hard. Watching from afar, she grit her teeth as she saw the altercation between Jor and the football player. He had to be a football player, being that tall and bulky, and thinking he owned the whole walkway. She'd check on Jor later to see if he was alright, and maybe get him to pay more attention to his surroundings. That way he could just avoid collisions and not have to deal with the shenanigans. Also, it made them look like idiots when they stumbled and that was always satisfying to watch. What was not satisfying was Gabby, picking fights. "Oh Gabs...if there's one thing you share with your sister it's picking a fight." Lydia sighed, pulling out her phone and deciding to interfere. With a few quick strides, she was over there, making a show of being very interested in her phone and totally not paying attention to where she was going. She crashed headlong into the guy, both of them falling to the ground. By her design of course. The books in her arms went everywhere and she landed on top of him, an apology coming out of her mouth before she even sat up. "Oh my gosh, I'm sooo sorry! I reeaallly should pay more attention." She giggled. "Are you ok? I totally didn't see you. Like, oh my god..." She beamed at him. He started sputtering a little, trying to form words as she got off of him to pick up her books. She looked at Gabby and glowered, shaking her head minutely before turning back to smile at the guy. "Hey, don't we have math together? I would totally love some help, I'm so far behind and a study buddy usually helps me remember better." She twirled a small piece of her hair, grinning at him. He just nodded. "Uh, sure." He went to look back at Gabby and she put herself promptly in his view before looping their arms together. "C'mon. I know I had to do the whole 'stand up and introduce yourself' thing in class but, um...hi, I'm Lydia. I'm new. And I was wondering...what's safe to eat at the cafeteria?" She smiled at him the whole time and he completely forgot about Gabby as he headed toward lunch with a pretty girl talking to him. She quickly texted Gabby simply "Watch and learn, kid." She waved a small wave at Zoey and Jor, before a small, almost imperceptible flash flew from her index finger, right at the hem of the athlete's shorts. First it started to smoke, then it caught on fire. Lydia did a good job of hysterics as she pointed it out, gasping, putting her hand over her mouth and flapping her hand in a small panic as he tried to put it out before running off to the bathroom for water. Well, she may not have been as good at spycraft as her brother and Phil, but she did have a few tricks up her sleeve when it came to acting. She looked back at Gabby as she wandered over to Jor and Zoey, pointing to fingers at herself then one at Gabby, "I'm watching you." Lydia then turned and smiled at Jor and Zoey. "Hey guys, how's your first day going? Hope it's not too rough on you." She looked pointedly at Jor, before smiling back at Zoey. She did not need the Amazon throwing people through walls. Yet another reason to get Jor more attuned to his surroundings. She wouldn't have to worry about repercussions.

It was a trap. That was all Marty could think as he sat there and ate his chicken patty sandwich. He'd let Jor talk him and Walt into this mess for a little while as an experiment. The Boy of Steel had convinced them that Captain America wanted extra security. So a few button pushes later and he and Walt were a year younger and seniors again. The tip off should have been how readily Cap agreed to his being there.
The first half of the day was spent in gym, shop and physics class. Gym and Shop were no problem for Marty. He exercised regularly anyway since he needed it for his other jobs and shop wasn't too difficult because he'd been spending time in the shops at Ferris anyway. Physics presented its own challenge, because Jor had been in the class. Marty watched the Kryptonian struggle with the things the teacher said during the lecture. It must have been maddening to know that Jor knew so much more than their culture did, but to the boy's credit, the Kryptonian said nothing.
Now, the hunger was upon him, so Marty practically dashed for the cafeteria. He met Walt and they talked for a few minutes before he looked up and saw Zoey and then caught Jor get shoulder checked into some lockers. He was about to get up when he saw Gabby launch an attack followed by a blonde distraction act. Marty just stared. He had no idea that Lydia was there. Things were still awkward between them since the end of the doppelganger business. She looked... He didn't have the words. He was sure his ring would be able to come up with something if he wanted.
"Attractive, lovely, sexy, beautiful..." A mechanical voice spoke from the third finger of his left hand.
"Shut up." Marty slammed his finger over the ring. Stray thoughts. Great. He looked over to Walt. "Not a word."
"Silent mode activated."
"Well, I do believe that this was a trap, Mr. West. Please tell me that you weren't in on it?"

"Oh, my dear Mr. Jordan, I assure you... I /wasn't/."
Walt had already consumed eleven of the cafeteria's chicken patties, and, therefore, was ready.
So when he took off, there was only a moment before he was away and back to Marty, and now holding the jock's school ID. This had his locker number on it. Delighful.
After flashing the card to Marty, at least providing him a lead as to his own intentions, he was at the locker, and it was open. About two seconds after that, it was filled from top to bottom with reeking fish purchased at the docks of Star City. A moment later, Walt was back to Marty.
Grinning cheerfully (not to mention mercilessly,) Walt said contentedly, "This guy's gonna have himself a bad day." Then he turned his attention back to Marty.
"Anyway, in the last four seconds I've had some time to think. I've been to every class offered in this admittedly lovely academy, and I think I recall the reason I prefer independent study. After reading the textbooks here, I know nothing new. Except that, apparently, literature is the first to suffer from budget cuts."
Not only had he perused every book from every class, he had also taken a quick run through the fiction section of the library and taken a nap. He had been bored since first block.
"Anyway," here Walt's smile was gentle and friendly, "Lydia does look good. She always looks good." Given his 1/100 sincerity ratio on this particular topic, he hoped Marty could take him seriously. "Now, bearing in mind that I wouldn't ask if I didn't care: why aren't you talking to her? I know this business with the replacements was... jarring. But she's back now. We're all back. So why not...?" He finished this sentiment with a gentle, curious expression, and an almost-careless gesture with his hand.
And then, because he couldn't resist, with a wry smile:
"Or does the ring have dibs?"

Adam, it seemed, was the one blending in the most with his new school. The transplant had gone smoothly enough, especially after Captain America had had the discussion with his mother about 'broadening his experiences'. At least he was relatively good friends with at least one of his teammates, which meant he tended to gravitate towards Gabby between classes. Which, likely, is the reason that he had congregated so close to the 'action' that was going down.
As soon as Gabby had started yelling, he was pushing through the growing crowd of gawkers 'just in case'. Sure, academically he knew that she could most likely take anybody in the school (Barring the other 'undercover Titans') but seeing the tiny girl trying to start a fight with the large jock was still somewhat frightful to see. Of course, that whole event was diffused before he had the chance to offer much more than spiritual support.
"You know, Bird-Girl," Adam finally offered up once he was standing next to her, hands stuffed in his pockets. His own outfit was somewhat more low-key, involving a shirt with the Flash's lightning bold emblazoned on it and a pair of blue jeans with some randomly purchased tennis shoes. "starting fights on your first day isn't really the best plan of action. Maybe calm down?" He suggested, watching the flaming pants'd man take a run towards the bathroom.
"So, would it be inappropriate to ask if you pack bird seed for lunch?" He added, throwing in a joke of his own.

Turning to see that Jor had called her name, Zoey smiled. The flowers in the small planter box next to the door bloomed as he walked up. She was excited to compare experiences of the day and ask him just what volleyball was. She had her own interesting stories to tell him, and more questions about humans in general. Though on that subject they could compare notes. Human males seemed to not be everything her sisters had warned her about. Martin and Walter seemed pleasant enough, even if Walter seemed to think and speak about as fast as he ran.
"Hello, Jor. I hope your day has been pleasant. Tell me, do you know anything about volleyball? I have been asked to 'try out' for the school's team." Before she had time to hear his answer though, as shouting from across the quad caught her attention. She recognized the smaller girl, doing the shouting. She was one of her new team members, with a rather impressive set of wings, Zoey had to admit. They were very gorgeous and Zoey was sad she had to hide them from everyone else. She knew the little one could handle herself, but she was very confused as to what was going on. She made a step forward, just in case she had to interfere, when Lydia came crashing in.
"High school is a very strange place, Jor. Is she trying to establish her place in the social hierarchy by fighting a larger, more established person?" Zoey looked around for someone for her to knock down the social food chain, seeing a rather large group of boys in letterman jackets. That seemed about the right size group for someone of her stature. She took one step in their direction when the guy who's pants were on fire ran by her and Walter ran by the other way. She almost missed him. All she saw was a blur of red hair for a moment and then he was gone. So she turned back to Lydia who was walking toward them. Perhaps she knew more about this social structure.
"Ah, Lydia. I have questions. Firstly, what was Gabrielle doing? Was she establishing her place in the social hierarchy?"

As the flowers bloomed, the pollen tickled Jor's nose. There was a quick sniffle and he sneezed. Jor looked around wide-eyed. That had never happened before. The Kryptonian boy was very startled for a moment. His face flushed slightly and he smiled at Zoey.
"Hello, Zoey." Her question took him aback and Jor paused to think about it. "It's a human sport. It involves teams and hitting a ball over a net. I believe the idea is to get the ball to hit the ground. I am not entirely familiar with all the rules, but I can get them for you. I brought my tablet with me." The tablet he spoke of was a sunstone crystal device Jor had crafted himself to help him on this planet. It could access the human internet and display whatever he needed. It worked with a small telepathic interface so Jor's thoughts or the thoughts of anyone else could control it.
The sight of Gabby picking a fight with someone made Jor shake his head. He did not wish to tell Zoey what had happened, because he would have to inform her that he depowered himself for this experiment. He knew that the Amazon would not approve of his choices. Jor noticed her sizing the athletes up and realized what she was doing. When he saw Walter disappear from his seat and then Lydia coming over, he decided to make a somewhat edited version of events.
"No, there was a misunderstanding. That boy bumped into me by mistake and I thought that everything was resolved. I only have some minor bruising from bumping into the locker. I am okay. Lydia seems to have gotten it all resolved now."

Well, she was an American girl raised on promises Gabby was just about to throw a punch when she caught Lydia in her peripherals. The sight of the blonde was enough to make her falter. Because seeing her made it almost obvious that she might be in a lot of trouble. Her hands were shaking ever so slightly as she curled her fingers even tighter into her fist. Lydia seemed to defuse the situation as a whole rather quickly and she almost wanted to say something, anything, she had even started to open her mouth just a little as if she was about to but it shut almost immediately as the blonde turned to glower towards her. Nothing, save for her mother, could make her shrink back more than that. While still shaking, her fingers uncurled and she took a deep, wavering breathe to calm herself down. Her phone beeped and she quickly gave a look at the message. It was from Lydia, which immediately sent a pang of nervousness through her. She was in so much trouble, wasn't she? Well, of course she was. The words of the text were simple and it made her turn towards where Lydia and that asshole walked off towards. It seemed that around the same time, Adam came up beside her. The sight of him almost left her a bit more relieved, relaxed. At least now she can try to use him as a shield if Lydia came for her. She heard his words and she was about to use the old classic excuse "he started it" when the very same jock ran past, his pants on fire. Instead of any words, a laugh escaped her and it took a moment to reel it back in. "Jerk got what he deserved," she snorted before looking to Adam. "Hey, it's his own fault. He shouldn't've tried hurting my friend," she said with a shrug. She stepped closer to Adam and followed him into the lunch room, her eyes rolling at the question he asked her. "I packed money for lunch, actually. So i can, ya know, buy lunch." She gave him a gentle nudge for the smartass. She couldn't help but smirk, though, as she retorted, "Why? Did you pack yourself Fancy Feast or something for yourself?"Thinking there was a little more to life somewhere else ✿

Lydia looked a little curious at Zoey, her question seemed to confuse her for a moment. Then Lydia remembered that Zoey had never been to a high school, American or not. So a lot of the social coming and going would be completely foreign to her. The whole idea of the social hierarchy not based on combat must seem strange. Lydia just laughed and shook her head. "No no, Zoey, as Jor said, a simple misunderstanding. Are you guys hungry? Did you bring lunch? I know that cafeteria food will seem strange to you Zoey, but, when in Rome..."
Lydia looked around toward the cafeteria and spotted Walter, and then Marty. Quickly looking away and back to her two friends, she plastered a smile on her face, as she had been doing for awhile now. But inside she was in turmoil. What the hell was he doing here? No one told her Marty would be here. She reminded herself to call James later and yell at him. This was not something she wanted to deal with right now. So, she decided to just focus on making sure Gabby stayed out of trouble (she didn't need Kayleigh beating the crap out of people because her sister was picking fights), and that Jor and Zoey had a good experience. She looked back over at Gabby, seeing Adam sidle up to her and was relieved, at least he'd keep her out of more trouble.
"C'mon you two, let's do lunch."

"Oh, Mister West. I am fairly sure that you were in on this little trap. Nice to see you and Cap getting along at least."
Those were Marty's final words as he watched Flash zoom away and make the thug that hit Jor's life into a living hell for a day. He had no doubt that the scarlet speedster was going to traumatize the boy for Jor. Marty was not as upset about this as he would pretend. There was going to be some more interesting commentary about things in the near future. Marty was sure of that much.
"Walter, I believe that the fact that you have super speed has made you a bit of a literary snob. There's a reason we stopped going to high school. But if you want I'll see that Ferris or event the Avengers makes a generous donation to the library to make sure that they get something you haven't read yet." He probably shouldn't have indulged the speedsters banter, but Marty was on edge since Lydia showed up.
"I'm well aware of how good Lydia looks. I mean... Not that I notice. She just needs some space. You know what happened to her while she was over there. Lydia was tortured by the yellow version of me. I just want to give her time." Marty took a deep breath. "I know we have to have this conversation at least once a month, but there is still nothing going on with me and Lydia Danvers. We've been friends since we were little. She's not interested in me and vice versa. You'd think that your ability to remember things would work once and awhile here."
Marty looked over at Zoey and Jor, smirking at the blooming flowers behind Zoey. He tilted his head in their direction and changed the subject. "Do you think those two are going to figure out that they're fond of each other at some point?"

"Once a month?" Walt grimaced before clapping a hand on Marty's shoulder. "I've been neglecting you buddy, I'm sorry." He smiled.
"Those two, huh? Yeeeah, they'll get around to it. I may have been spending a little too much time arguing the finer points of Star Wars space-logic with him and not enough time teaching him, y'know... feelings." Walt wolfed down another chicken patty from the stack on his tray. He noticed some kids staring at the overflowing pile, smiled with his mouth full, and pushed the tray towards them. They laughed, smiled gratefully, and pulled his tray toward themselves.
Walt turned back to Marty. "Well," he started with his mouth still full. "I don't know about you, good buddy, but I need to get up to some bid'ness. I'm getting bored." He stood up from the bench, grabbed another patty from the tray he slid to the kids to the right of him, and casually threw it at Marty's face with a lazily challenging smile. "Whaddya think? Show up the football team? Or do you have PTSD?" Walt was in the middle of laughing at his own joke when he gasped (so exaggeratedly that several nearby students looked and snickered) and grabbed his friend's shirt, pulling his close to his own face.
"MARTY." There was an urgency in Walt's voice that he always reserved for serious escapades. He looked around and ran out of the cafeteria (at a normal human pace, until he was out of sight.) He dashed all the way to his room in the Tower, rummaged frantically for a quarter of a second until he found what he was looking for, and then returned to the school. He changed into his self-made Captain America costume on the roof. He could hear James's voice in his head, and vocalized it in his comically deep impression of Cap: "'You're missing the whole point! This was supposed to be an exercise in everyday life! Blah blah blah! I love Ginnie Stark!'" Walt made himself laugh out loud. James hated Walt's Captain America costume, said he looked ridiculous in it.
"Who wore it better," asked himself out loud, smiling deviously. Then he sped down through the halls of the school, quick enough to be undetectable by anyone there (except a few of his peers,) until he found what he was looking for: a kid, short, wearing glasses and a baby-blue polo, being pushed up against a locker, his neck held by an individual twice his size and his half-gorilla companion. Classic, Walt thought. He grabbed the victim, leaving the other two empty-handed and bewildered. He whisked the kid up to the roof.
The youngling was flustered, trying to spit out an apology.
"No problem, man! Freshman?" Walt sported a flat smile. The kid nodded and beamed after a half-second of confusion. Star-struck. Adorable. Walt strode over to the kid and clapped a hand on his shoulder, shaking it reassuringly. "Well," he started, "You wanna learn how to be a hero?"

"Fancy feast?" Adam asked, giving Gabby a look that bordered on scandalized before speaking again. "What do you take me for? A millionaire? I can't afford to spend THAT much money feeding myself." He retorted, sniffing indignantly as he turned his gaze upward. "I'll have you know, that like any respectable feline, I feed myself by hunting smaller animals and causing certain species of bird to go extinct." He remarked with a sudden laugh, making a pawing gesture at Gabby's face with a wink.
"But, for today, I actually brought lunch money. I heard it was pizza day." He smiled suddenly, giving a sweeping gaze around himself. It seemed, to his untrained eyes, that things were settling down well enough. Some of the Titans were beginning to congregate nearer to one another. Forming a handful of smaller 'cliques' as opposed to one large one. It made a certain amount of sense, he supposed. A bunch of sudden transfer students who spent all of their time around one another? It would be... suspicious. Besides, if he recalled, they were just here to keep a short eye on two others.
All of that was unimportant, however, in the scheme of things. No, what was important... the MOST important thing on his mind... was just what he said: it was pizza day! Hopefully.

"When in Rome?" she said quietly to Jor as she started to walk. It sounded like a euphemism but not one she had heard before.
Zoey followed Lydia into the cafeteria, doing as Lydia did and grabbing a tray and plate and such for food. She recognized a few things, like the fruit salad in plastic containers, of which she grabbed one. The rest was very interesting looking, as she had been warned, and she watched the tiny blonde grab a few things but she was not sure what they were. So she simply grabbed one of everything, intending to try everything, if only a bite. Then she watched Lydia as she paid for the food and stopped suddenly. She did not have whatever constituted for money here but Lydia handed her a piece of paper with the number 20 on it and just nodded her head. So she paid for the food and handed whatever coins and paper back to Lydia before following her to a table.
Some things were delicious, like what Lydia called a chicken patty sandwich. The apparent "mystery meatloaf" was horrid. The "french fries" were also not bad, though no one could tell her why they were French. The pizza was...interesting and while not her favorite, it was not as bad as the meatloaf. She simply turned her nose up at what they tried to pass off as salad and ate her fruit salad instead. Everything had a strange aftertaste, which she just chalked up to her time on Themyscira giving her fresh foods. Though she was supremely fascinated by Jell-O. She would poke at it, marvel at it's density and color and then simply shake it on the spoon to see it jiggle. She could not conceive of such a food and was very curious as to its properties.
"It is very interesting, I have never seen anything like it." She wiggled the small cup in her hand, enjoying the way it moved immensely. Then, as Walt made his appearance as Captain America, she looked to Lydia in confusion, who simply seemed annoyed. But the bell rang for the lunch period to be over and loathe as she was to waste all the food she hadn't eaten, she quickly packed up whatever she had left for Walter later, as he would probably eat anything.
